H1Z1: Server Wipe Coming Tomorrow, February 5th

SBFordSBFord Former Associate EditorMember LegendaryPosts: 33,129

The H1Z1 team has posted on Reddit that a server wipe will be performed on Thursday, February 5th as part of the normal game update cycle. All characters, player-created structures, placed vehicles and more will be wiped.

Players can rest assured, however, that account locked items will remain in place such as cosmetic skins, crates, crate keys. Players need to be aware, however, that anything on a character or placed, for instance, in a vehicle, will not be spared by the wipe.

For people who purchased the Premium or upgraded to the Premium Edition will be topped off up to 3 Airdrop Tickets. If you already have 3 or more Airdrop Tickets you won’t be receiving any additional ones. This won’t happen at the exact time of the wipe but will be granted to your account within a few business days afterward.

According to the post, players signed on for full server wipes as part of the development cycle and to allow new builds with significant changes and improvements to be implemented.

Check out the H1Z1 Reddit for the full post.

If anyone is curious about this game... it is on the right track.

I am curious to see what happens next.  I have nearly 90 hours in it, and all PvE, so no screaming about the cheaters here, the mechanics of the game and the crafting make things very very interesting.

Yeah, the game is quite fun. Basically DayZ with worse graphics but better performance.

Only thing about PVE servers is there is no risk whatsoever...I came across one of the larger towns and nothing but players there running around some even building shacks and bases outside and in city limits why go anywhere else in the game if you can just sit there and wait for things to respawn? There should be some elements of PVP on a PVE server but consensual or areas designated to PVP only like large towns to keep campers out of there and give a element of reward for pushing into a city against other players fighting over large quantities of supplies. Otherwise what keeps the element of playing on PVE servers even remotely interesting?

New twist, early access game, paid early access game. Sells micro transactions which now will be wiped:D

Editing to avoid hate train; What I mean is all the items players have obtained through the means of micro transactions. Such as all the guns and ammo you have gotten in the paid air drops.

Players seem to be okay with this so I doubt it will change.  I'm not touching the game but that is just me.

Fun fun game. This should remove the stockpiled/duped weapons from when the guns were plentiful. I don't really mind whether guns are plentiful or not, but what sucked was that they were everywhere for a day or two and then rare again the next day. So there were a few armed groups with tons of weapons and forts, and then there was everyone else.  Now that hackers are reduced, gun duping not possible (i hope), and loot spawning regulated I think this will be an interesting fresh start.

    Cept they're refunding airdrop tickets..

And... The amount of loot you get from airdrops is basically nothing... Especially  considering the way the loot was bugged at the start and then hyper spawns happened where you could find guns and thousands of rounds all over the place (plus those gained from duping).

And... It's a full loot game so anything from air drops has probably been lost to a death already...

And... You can earn airdrop tickets in the game so there's lots of people who've found or won them (I have 7, started with 0).

And... None of the skins/account items are reset.. So it's literally only the loot from airdrops (see above)...

If you honestly think this is a big deal then you either don't play the game or the only hate train is the one that ran you over. >.<

I watch a lot of stream games for the entertainment and watched quite a bit of this today.

EVERY single streamer i watched had a gun ,so much for survival.

The number 1 streamer was being harassed ,he moved from server to server and the hacker kept finding him.The cheat had a TON of hacks from sliding around on the ground to boppn and weavin to warping. It pissed the number 1 streamer right off,he wanted to logout.

btw EVERY stream i watched was players trying to pvp,not the streamers but they kept running into people who just wanted to kill them.

What bothers me is it seems unrealistic the need for over drinking, idk maybe players are the size of Elephants they need two hundred gallons of Berry juice.

Also everything is a menu system, you don't actually search most of the places like cards for example, you just point at the car and a circle timer and menu.

I still do not get the attraction to the game, seems boring to me players just run around looking for real cheap loot ,i guess hoping to find a gun.Other than that nothing else seems to be happening. find the actual streamers to be entertaining way more than the game, some CDN dude is a pretty funny streamer.

if they offered a $10 000 spaceship, or a picture of it - inculding a backstory; I would buy 9 of them.

I play a lot and have never seen a hacker.

The point is not whether guns are rare or not, there are 300 million guns in America, it wouldn't be impossible to find firearms in a small town during an apocalypse. It's either firefights, or bow fights/brawls, which do you prefer? I actually prefer guns. Make auto weapons/snipers rare but pistols more common.

Yes everyone PvP's because the PvE is shite at the moment. I personally don't like zombies getting too involved in my PvP, zombies could be a bit more threatening though.

There is loot in the world and in containers... this is a big problem?

This is a game that you need to play, because you are constantly "on edge" as part of the game. You don't get this watching someone else.

I honestly don't see the appeal of a game where the only thing you do is wait for some loot to spawn. Sit around near a town and keep checking the fixed spawn points for new loot every x minutes. This has to be the most boring game concept ever.

Now if they made Zombies a real threat and loot spawn at random places with Zombies spawning near it too, i might get interested.

  • AnthurAnthur Member UncommonPosts: 961

Currently the game is very shallow. Unless they draw some magic rabbit out of some hat and develop this game into the direction of a world (not that small zone) plagued by a real zombie apocalypse, I can't see me spending money on this. Maybe when it gets F2P for a few evenings.

But what do they always say, it's EA, sooo much will still change *cough*. But the impression I got so far that they are more trending towards a shooter. BattleRoyale doesn't help either.

And community is quite unfriendly, not to use the word toxic. Usually in streams you see the following:

Player A: "Are you friendly ?"

    Player B: "Yeah, friendly"

    Player A: "Ah, ok, great"

Player B shoots Player A into the head, or other way around, followed by some hysteric laughing.

    Sounds like fun, not.

Agreed, for a Zombie Survival, there are too few zombies in PVE to warrant any risk. On the PVP servers, you fear other players and step over, around or otherwise ignore zombies.
  • coldcorpsecoldcorpse Member UncommonPosts: 4

The player A/B thing actually happened to me no joke the same way you typed it. It was my first death.

The only thing i learned in this game is to never trust anyone with a heavy accent.

tbh it needed it.they needed to remove all the duped ammo around.on youtube someone showed how to do it  and it was so easy with no add on program.

this is good for the game .i think in alpha regular wipes will help a lot.

And it seems I'm not the only one -H1Z1 has been dropping down in # of streamers on twitch and dropping on Steam as well - no longer in top 10 (DayZ is ahead of it now)

The funny part about that is that all the ppl playing DayZ are the cheaters.

Everytime I log into that game I get killed almost instantly by groups of cheaters who magically teleport to my new spawn points as I rez. That game is in really bad shape.

All the current action around H1Z1 is simply due to the "new game smell".

In a month or so it will be forgotten.

God forbid people discuss a new game on a gaming site...

    Ummmm Server wipe is today....

And besides, who cares about duped weapons.  Either you have a gun or a bow... it's all the same.

Oh and something else that is huge... One character per server... I mean, multiple accounts anyone LOL!

I always knew you need a really special mentality for these kind of games.

Glad to see there are people enjoying to get slaughtered by cheaters. Who needs fairness and even terms anyway?

Would love to try it on release but only if there are servers with factions . I love pvp and I want good zombie mmo but I also love community and working together . You cant get that in this type of game if anyone you can see can kill you .
  • muthaxmuthax Member UncommonPosts: 703
It's an alpha for a game you don't like... I don't get it. Can't you people go comment on a game you like, if they exist?

One character per server is not in this patch, so again what are you talking about?

Says in the 2/5 patch notes

    • Limited players to one character per server.

Simsu, no one could have stated it any better.  andre369 is the epitome of a troll/hater spewing out false information.  More than likely andre369 simply has no idea what he's talking about or he's on the hate train you so wonderfully spoke of.  I've been burned before but never this bad.
