OK, stop.  The problems with ArcheAge go back loooooong before it was launched in the West - XLGames was well aware of the issues with its client and network coding and how vulnerable this game was to hackers, cheaters, and bots.  This game had been available in So.Korea and Russia and these concerns were all there as well.  In addition, there was a beta period in the West release, and again, to the surprise of absolutely no one, all the same type of game-breaking issues were present and transitioned smoothly into the launch.

Stay away from ArcheAge.  Keep your wallet closed.  In fact, stay away from anything published by Trion  - let them know the gaming community is intolerant of bugs, cheats, hacks, bots, gold spammers, greedy cash shops, poor management, and unresponsive developers.

Pity, really.  Under all the shit that has come to define ArcheAge and destroy Trion's reputation, there actually is some good gaming buried there.  With a developer and publisher who were concerned both about quality and a fair profit - what could have been....

Hmm I quite like Rift for the PvE roaming ... still on my first character however and crafting has no point in the game other than killing time (maybe potions, no clue).

I didn't know Matt Damon played Archeage!  Get that bad actor out of here!

Already sold off all my lands and will never go back to this trash, cash-grab game ever again. Trion and XL Gamers are clueless how to code and run an MMORPG system. My character has over 60k gold sitting on her and it will remain in limbo forever.

Stay away from this game and do not listen to anything Trion states as they lie constantly. It's as sad thing for a game that could have been amazing if not for the hacks cheating and massive botting; the damage is done and cannot be repaired.

Awesome news! Our guild is doing great, staying busy and most of all, having fun!

There are some great things coming down the pipe. Don't let all the F2P'ers bad experiences stop you from coming to ArcheAge specially on the best server..Ollo!

    Cya there!

Shows how little they know their game. Crafting, if you want to call it that, isn't held back by archeum drop rates. It's held back by the rng wasting the drops.

LOLOL what a idiot! why dont you stfu! look at Afterworld 10 years in the making still beta test! and the fact that it use to be not so broken is just a testament to how long it can take things to be fixed then broken then fixed again. Go make a game moron lets see how long it takes you.....

    LOL!

Dear Steelwind, the complaints about the game are entirely justified.  Trion outright stole a lot of money from people while they lied about the game like super champs.  I am glad you are enjoying the game, but the threads will still be loaded with complaints from those who felt they were robbed, so get used to it.  Trion destroyed any reputation they had the way they monitized the game and failed to control the bots and cheaters.

I remember there was a time when MMO's released with issues and players had patience and gave the devs time to resolve them. Those days are apparently long gone, now a game gets a month most then is dropped forever.

I would venture to say that the complaints are no longer accurate and are mainly from those whom have long since left and neglect or refuse to see the game actually improving. I guess I am just old school or a fanboy for AA because I do notice things getting better. Exploits and bots have gone way down. Mail spam is nearly gone and land hacking is day and night difference.

So while things are getting better, the naysayers still want to paint the picture that nothing has changed which brings us right back to self validation or plain ol' ignorance. Either way, nothing constructive comes from it and is a complete waste of everyone time.

I will also add, your definition of being "robbed" is anothers definition of a "lack of self control".

Well when a studio makes promises and then fails to deliver on them, classifying people's investment in the game as "lack of self control" is particularly ludicrous.  Of course maybe you were using satire, but it was not very evident if you were.

Logged in today, in 15 minutes I saw, 6 gold spam messages and found a couple of the bots favorite areas still populated with them.   Went to visit a friend who lives in a pvp area and darn if I did not get zapped by someone using the speed hack.  Must be fun ignoring all the game issues still unresolved at this point.  Those are major issues for most of us.  That is not even dealing with the high inflation and rng bat hanging over your head.  So go ahead and talk the game up, but the vast majority of readers are laughing at your attempts.

kind of think its good since all the anti AA post serves as a strong warning to anyone who may be thinking about playing the game . I paid good money to that game only to be raped in a way like never before and unless players keep the pressure on AA like they do with negative posts about it and spreading the word about the complete crap the companies involved with it deliver. things will never change.its sad AA could of been great :(
  • UnitAkiraUnitAkira Member UncommonPosts: 25

Oh someone was saying things ingame have changed and land hacks and botters and hackers are down ...was playing this morning  land hacks ahoy !!botters running pass and a guy near my house owns like 12 plots ..so i wonder how he is paying the tax on that land with the amount of labor u get ?

game is still diseased with exploits and hacks n bots

  • compwitchcompwitch Member UncommonPosts: 19
None of this is going to tempt me back to what is, essentially, a game that penalises crafters and holds no incentive to play once the level cap has been reached. Not to mention the impossibility of finding land after the initial gold farmer land grabs. ArcheAge has been mishandled from the start, and it's heartbreaking to see a game with so much potential ruined by the inflexibility and sheer reluctance to listen to players of the developers/producers.

Burn it with FIRE ! Before it lays eggs !

    :D

Havent yet tried better game with the worst possible cash shop and security balance.

Trion is like Lex luthor what it touches it dies. No tricks only p2w.

Archeage is not guilty it got such a bad publisher, its a nice game handled awfully here in the west.

Every update they made ,pushed Archeage more and more towards abyss i believe this is just another like all them previous fails.

Trion - One of few publishers that made its major content update (Auroria) useless in history of gaming. Every influence they made in the game was bad for the community, game economy and mmo itself.  Didnt think theyll also succumb to milk all them moneys fast than burn the game payment model. Shoul i continue?

if you will never go back then why did you sell your land? its not like you would care if you lose it due to inactivity. Or were you making some money for when you"come back"? :D

I just let it all burn.  The thought of all the 16x16s, buildings and marine house I had going up in flames after a few weeks made me feel good about quitting.  I wanted everyone to see that I abandoned that mess of a game and couldn't care less about what happened to all my properties.  I haven't even considered going back since I left.

I have stayed away from Archeage as well.

Horizons was the biggest MMO letdown for me.  Ever.  I had seen what the original team had planned for that game before they all got replaced and put out the crap that it turned out to be.

What's really in store for AA in 2015? Eleven months of ignoring the pleas from the majority of players asking for the game's p2w factor to be reduced. Right now the only legitimate way to ever afford a top tier set of gear is to purchase apex or items from the cash shop to sell in game for gold. My friend and I did the math and at 4 hours per night of fishing, it will take each of us 342 days just to get a top end weapon. When the new top end weapons come out next month it will probably be double or triple that.  Yes there are whales that already have these weapons and they are enchanted beyond anything the normal $15/mo player will ever be able to afford or compete with.

Depends on how profitable it is.  Generally speaking, though, it probably won't need to be a case study for anything because its monetization strategy is pretty much almost the exact same thing as the one hundreds of facebook, browsers, mobile games, and several other F2Ps use.  The only thing that makes AA's stand out a bit is that it had open world PvP and open world housing. (IE, the game itself, not the monetization strategy)

R2Games already revealed straight from an F2P company's mouth that "lower player retention" and "shorter game lifespan" are in fact ENTIRELY EXPECTED of this monetization model, and I imagine XLGames and Trion knew the same.  The question is if they made more or less profit than they expected for how long they expected the game to last compared to the reality.  Even then, judging by all the whales I've seen and/or heard about in Archeage and all the people that brought Founder's Packs, I myself imagine they made quite a nice hefty chunk of change. The only thing causing me to consider that maybe they didn't is all the chargebacks people were legally entitled to and maybe doing because of Trion's Patron Discount promise-breaking screw-up, but that's more the fault of Trion's and XLGames' failure to live up to the contract than the monetization strategy itself.

A better title would have been "What's NOT in the Store for 2015."

    Yeah.....

"With the tools we have, thousands of bad actors are getting banned every day. Over the last few months, we’ve been tweaking our tools to add in more details to help us better identify the bad actors. "

Yeah they tweaked their "tools" so they hit legit players and leave bots alone. Like they did to me, permabanning my account (that was RIFT account also), and to many others i know. I liked the game, i got over the hacking/exploit... i kept playing... till i got banned for nothing.

Now, when i feel i could come back to playing from start, i instead go to AA forums, read some random posts, then go back playing something else ...

TRION and the THREE PIGS Motto "NO TRICKS NO TRAPS"

The BEST LIE i ever encountered in my whole life...and it cost me $150. LOLZ

I WILL NEVER EVER EVER GONNA PLAY ANY TRION RELATED GAMES!!! NEVER EVER!!!

    NEVER!!!

    NEVER!!!

    NEVER!!!

    ~ ^_^ PrinceMark ~

Let me play, if i get convinced then i will surely pay for a founders pack! if a CBT key is hard for you to give for FREE then why should i spend my money just to TEST a FREE TO PLAY game in BETA stage.

And re-release with a decent publisher that cares more about providing a balanced fun experience, rather than thinking "how much money can we make if we change this".  Basically ruining the game for everyone that does not have 1000's to drop on it every month.

If an MMO fails as F2P it has nowhere else to go but down the drain. As least P2P MMOs have the soft relaunch option of B2P/F2P. F2P-day one MMOs do not.

You forget that Archeage originally launched in Korea as a subscription-based MMO, but converted to F2P/Freemium soon after...
