Full Open World PVP, Castle Sieges, Fort Sieges, Ceremony Of Chaos, Clan Wars, PVP Arenas spread through out the world, Monthly Olympiad PVP Tournament that crowns the best pvp player of each class in the game.
If you ever reach high level in Lineage 2 and become a part of a pvp clan that's involved in politics you will never look at another pvp game the same.
Isnt L2 pay to win?
I would consider it pay to win now, but it wasn't always
All what I loved about L2 and also the exact same reason I quit playing. Ever since I haven't found any MMO to fill the game that L2 left behind
As somebody pointed out earlier there is no one answer but I will give you my brief personal opinion.
If you are mostly playing solo then Darkfall would be the best game. I'm sure I don't have to tell you with soloing comes alot of death from getting rolled if you aren't careful. Additionally, if you aren't quick handling the mouse it might be awhile before you can take on several people at once. Population isn't the best but it isn't empty either.
If you are looking for 3 faction PvP. I recommend ESO over DAoC solely because of your preference in high population games. DAoC is a better game on paper and I personally love DAoC but I have a "no bias" policy. I do not recommend GW2 for PvP, although it's a well made game.
Some people said WoW on here and I don't like WoW but if you are looking for population and performence then WoW ranks high in those regards.

As for as cash shop I would say no but end game is dominated by clans that cheat.

MMORPGs
Darkfall -- Open world (but you need to be in a clan to have fun and there was some grind the last time I played)
GW2 -- 5v5: zero grind (but not WvWvW -- super zergy)
ESO (?) -- (lots of potential to be great, but still held back by class/ability balance and faction balance issues -- maybe 1.6 will fix?)
MMOs
War Thunder
Heroes and Generals
Chivalry
Edit: I would like to try Tera but I'm region blocked.
