Sodom & Gomorrah?
Any fool can criticize, condemn and complain and most fools do. Benjamin Franklin
I don't really like the art style associated with this game, that being said if they can create a great game though the style isn't going to deter me from playing the game.
Crowdfunding or some kind of closed testing announcement. No matter how much I'd like to see ingame vids, it is probably way too early for any (at least for ones of bearable quality
The Hype-train isn't alone on the tracks. As we've seen on these very forums in the last couple of weeks, as per usual when a new game is on the near horizon, many posters get out their torches and pitchforks and get on board THE OTHER H TRAIN. I'm talking about the mephitic, lugubrious, angst ridden monstrosity know as the HATE TRAIN.
Belching choking smoke from its stacks, from a boiler stoked by the twisted trollish forms of fallen gamers, heated by the fires of our burning hopes and dreams, and leaving its slug like trail of slime that poisons the ground whenever it passes, screeching its banshee wail of tormented, self inflicted agony, it comes. And this thundering demonic horror with its cargo of disappointment fueled, white hot grudge, is once again on an unstoppable collision course with any who have any positive feelings about the future.
Lock up your children. The End is nigh. The sky is falling. The Hate Train is now boarding at platform Six Sixty Six. All aboard! Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more.
Count down to Kickstarter / home site crowdfunding or both, with alpha and beta testing pledge packages.
If they did their home work and it looks like they have. You want to hype your game before you put it out for crowdfunding, especially for a pvp based game.
It is beta if it wasn't beta it's not worth a countdown, it;s not like devs haven't lied to people about stuff in other games.
Beta Feb 24th, the beta groups are already setup easy registration it's beta.
Not to mention the post I made about beta initially on their forums was deleted, I spoiled the surprise.
If it isn't beta then they waited to spite me.

LOL L2's new advertisement is wonderful..... Take a step back in time and relive the original Lineage II experience as it was in the beginning. Create a classic hero from the original 5 races and 31 class options and jump into the nostalgic hardcore level grind where the rewards can outweigh the risks. It's your chance to experience the game the way it was when "hardcore" meant something!

I vote Kate Bosworth for Flemeth.
My actual "Kate" preference would be Kate Mara. For anything, really. Not an attractiveness thing, I just find her awesome in general. Which is odd, since I can't stand the NY Giants. (Sports on a MMO board, flame me.) - she would make a great Everquest elf, though.
The thing that disappoints me is the server/world system as well as the various rulesets that go with them. I'm one that really needs a persistent world in my MMO (and one that doesn't involve harsh death penalties). Too bad.
I do wish we could see less of these niche PvP MMO's and more quality games for larger audiences. I love PvP in both the open world and BGs, but not this harsh niche stuff. I also like PvE and everything about MMO's. But so many games lately have been trying to go with one very specific idea or another and I'm just not loving any of them. Even the supposed "big releases" like ESO - I'm not into the ES franchise and everything that goes with it - the dark, gloomy world, lack of nameplates, only WvW PvP and not standard OwPvP or BGs (although the PvE seems fine), etc. So that game was a no for me. Wildstar was so much no for me even in beta in so many ways. I don't need a game to revolutionize the genre, I just need something to be well done without trying so hard to be freaking special.
Something to keep in mind is that full loot on death means the overall grind of the game can be kept to a minimum. Whether they'll actually achieve this and focus on less of a "carrot stick" model, though, is all up in the air.
Basically: Consider giving it a try, harsh penalties aren't near as bad when it isn't that level 90 character dying or that hardcore epic raid drop which took seventy runs being turned to ash.
One needs to remember that Raph Koster is only giving advice, he is a consultant...he isn't actually working on the project itself.

And?
Just the fact he is consulting is huge.
No, it is not.
Being asked for advice on the layout of a zone and implementing it, does not make the story in that zone better nor does it make the combat better or any other main aspect of the game better.
1. Note my sig and who I quote...its him, so I am not against Koster. But you need to put him into perspective to know his strengths otherwise you are basically what he is saying in the quote I use. Useless.
2. Perspective: UO was Koster AND Richard Garriott and his team. It had the Ultima world and story. It wasn't Kosters, nor was the combat or setting....SWG...was Star Wars. The story, setting and ideas came from that, Koster just put it together via managing a great team. EQ2, again, not his story, setting and most of the combat came right out of EQ1. Those are his MMOs.
3. Koster does not create original base gameplay ideas, he is a great manager of others that create it. his talent is that, managing...in a way he is like Steve Jobs without the snake oil salesmen talent. He brings out the ability of others via managing them. And that is a GOOD thing.
So, as a consultant he isn't bringing much because he isn't actually there managing the people making the game. Not saying he is useless, just that his best talent isn't being tapped and thus him being tied to the game isn't "huge". It can help, but not enough to make a game go from good to great...or even average to good...or bad to average. It wont have an big impact.

I do get around and what i have seen is pvp receiving a lot more favor of late. However the pvp i am seeing is NOT good game design it is simply flag pvp and cya later, lazy design.
I watch H1z1 for example 3/4/5 dudes ehavily fortified with weapons attacking some noob with a flash light,oh yes VERY exciting.I even saw a female player hiding behind the males then when they had the guy cornered she runs up and shoots the unarmed guy and says everyone dies ,that felt good.Umm yes such an exciting scenario,no skill needed shallow satisfaction req's definitely not something i would endorse.
Then i watched some GW2 pvp and some Wow and some other game i didn't even know what game it was just in Twitch.NOTHING i watched had any good pvp, spam spam and EASY mode is the name of the day, well and some very silly bunny hopping.
I know the Crowfall team says the game is not for everyone and imo that IS a good approach, now if they pull off PVP better than just a simple flag, then kudos to them.None the less i rather see devs aim for a definitive market than pretending their game is for everyone, that just ends up pissing everyone off because of the lies.
Point is i KNOW this game design is not something i would play but i hope the pvp fans get the game they deserve,i tire seeing so many low budget game designs.

Hey I have this crazy idea. I actually do it myself. Get interested check it out but don't ride the hype d train. Quit being sheeple. Quit writing press reviews of a game unreleased. Quit fking up the gaming industries with crybaby bullspit. Wait, watch...appreciate silently or hate silently. Gamers today are entitled little grubs it has become a joke. Unplug people.

I will stop follow if they start pay beta or kickstater .
A video about gameplay is fine , if it good then new info about beta test (without pay to test unfinished product)
Kickstater or pay to test = no deal .

Here's what we need:
No leveling
Gear that's cosmetic only
Stats tied to use only that's not a grind
Trinity Lite
open world event systems (no instances) that are truly truly dynamic no substitutes
actually dynamic exploration spots
a mixture of magic tech magitech WWII concepts in the same game
a smart personal loot system that doesn't have DR
a smart housing system and guild hall system
a system that allows for fun relevant toys/pets/mounts/home decorations as rewards
plenty of non-combat activities to do
a beautiful world to enjoy while doing them
an update schedule that isn't dictated by shareholders
and a payment model that is neither eastern in design (like GW2 gold conversion model for their TP or Archeage's pay to progress blatant model).
If someone starts talking about combining all of these elements into a game, I'd be the first the donate!
Just curious, what was the year he was last involved with a successful MMO?
