I need me an MMORPG :'(

projectfear22projectfear22 Member Posts: 22

Please don't ignore this :S

Please could you help me to FINALLY find a good low graphics MMORPG I can spend my time on, I'm bored, annoyed, mad and all I just want to play something but I can't find anything good which doesn't lag

Most suggested me LOTRO or Rift

but Rift lags a bit on low, Lotro might be lagging on low but I'm not sure either it's lag or its the annoyance of the mixture of low graphics and low resolution or it's both, Perfect world international also lags a bit, Mabinogi (and damn I so wanted to play this game) lags but that's not because of the graphics, Anarchy Online - empty and boring to me, Atlantica Online - can't stand the turn based combat, WoW - playing it but I want something where I won't feel lonely, Talisman Online - playing it but not people don't want to do teamwork so I got annoyed by the loneliness, Eden Eternal - empty, Flyff - empty, Fiesta - suprisingly it lags a bit while it used not to (might be that I have windows 7 on my pc so Its killing the cpu usage or whatever), its also empty and not the kind of graphics I want (I love animes but this looks more like marshmallow models, I do like it but atm I want something else), Knight Online - gotten bored

Please help me to finally find one

No browser games

I need something which is 3d, has active friendly speaking players I don't know how many but I want to be able to call people for questing together by seeing them around the place and not just on the world chat, requires us to at more times call for party/team to finish a quest together but not at the level of Lucent Heart ( I love the game but I can hardly solo anything :/)

ask me for more info

Champions online Should work on most low end systems

Exactly what hardware do you have?  There's a difference between a game that works well on a slow CPU versus a slow GPU versus not enough system memory.

I could easily suggest a lot of mmorpgs you could run. Older ones that are very good. Everquest, Final Fantasy 11, Daoc, Lineage 2 but your gonna feel lonely in those, because all the action is at high levels. Now if you could play for a couple of weeks by your self and try to be courtios to the people you meet you would stand a good chance of having someone to play with in great games that really never got old excpet the graphics.

The problem is that alot of new ones are just like that too. You solo to max level unless you make friends.

there are certain games you would look at if you are young like WoW or Lotro if you are older. Im an older MMO'er and however good a game like WoW is at times, it sucks to be age president, that's why I usually play games with a more mature crowd. But thats also a thing to take in consideration when choosing a game.

The hardest part of a MMO is to make friends with people and play regularly any on can level up a toon. But WoW made it easier to play for people like that. In WoW you dont ever have to say anything. However it's kinda lame to play that way but each to his own.

Just give Tera Online a try, since its free anyway. But you need to get use to the UI, as its quite different from WoW and Rift.

But it gives quite a few customization.

I'm not sure if that would work because of the models.. shader thingy or whatever its called, besides I'm more into fantasy genre than superhero in modern city genre

Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 (makes my pc slower but I'm not in the condition to get XP at least not until I pass school cause I can't risk my pc getting dead)

    Processor: AMD Sempron(tm) Processor LE-1150 2.01GHz

    Installed Memory(RAM): 1,50 (1,37 GB usable)

    System type: 32 bit OS

    NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE nForce 430

I bought the PC in 2007 or 2006

Well you can still suggest some but mention which could have the biggest playerbase and which the friendliest, why would I want to play exactly them and so

I don't have a problem with age, I just want here and there to be people who aren't arrogant

If you have enough free time to be bored, you want an old school mmorpg, and you don't have money to waste/spend...you can look up free shards for:

World of Warcraft's Emerald Dream (small population, but you can get to 60 since it's Vanilla, and make some friends)

    or

Dark Age of Camelot's Genesis shard (3 truly separate factions, not ESO nonsense, 44 classes, 24 races, no copy paste between the factions.  And unlike every mmorpg ever made, your 1-50th level progression is purely its own country, not crossover nonsense in order to save space on geography (like in Rift or Wow, etc.).

    or

Project 99 for Everquest 1's free shard. (EQ can be brutal, this is the old school version)

    or

Shadowbane emu (kind of like Mortal Online or Darkfall, and really old school but you can make a bunch of accounts and run toons around if that's your thing - full sieges, full city building...)

I'll probably get in trouble for posting free shards here, but there's not much in the mmorpg world these days so I figure why not, right?

All those games are old so if you are lagging on low, then I suggest you need to update your computer. I have an i7 chip, windows 8, geforce 770, and 16 gigs ram, and don't lag at all in most games.

    I can't think of a single game you'd like.

  • BoneserinoBoneserino Member UncommonPosts: 1,768

Sorry but any low end graphic older game is likely going to have a pretty low pop as well.    So you are basically screwed either way.

There was a guy on the forums begging for Asherons Call 2 players.   That would cost you 10 bucks to play tho.

Good luck but gonna be a tough search.

Both free, both lower end hardware requirements and both newer so you should have more folks around.

Sig so that badges don't eat my posts.

The only viable option atm is Project 1999.

Really you should just switch to consoles though as the MMORPG genre is all but decimated in 2015.

Have you considered joining a guild in WOW. I think your missing out on most of what it has to offer and it's system requirements are right up your ally and your already there. Seems like a no brainer

Can try Trove it's pretty good so far, if don't mind the block way of things.

So all of the above, basically:  a 2 GHz single core processor, a GPU with three shaders (for comparison, AMD and Nvidia will sell you video cards with 2816 and 2880, respectively--and the low end chips they're pushing for tablets have 128), an maybe half a GB of memory left after the OS takes its share.  Speaking of which, the OS license may have cost more than all the hardware in your computer, so I'm guessing it's pirated.

What you need, really, is a new computer if you want to play games.

  • GwahlurGwahlur Member UncommonPosts: 201

Yeah, that computer is barely fit for reading the newspapers online. You probably can't watch video in HD(?), and you certainly can't play any newer games.

Anyways, you could try Anarchy Online

It has an amazing amount of content for free payers, multiple years worth.

    Waiting for:

I prefer originals but I'll try 'em maybe. Shadowbane looks so amazing why did it shut down D: also is EQ org empty or? how come if it is? it's a popular mmo

    Okay then how about suggesting:

priority 1: an mmorpg which has at least some people who are willing to talk and a tiny amount seen around?

priority 2(alternative): a mmo from the side view or the corner view or what is it called (smth like Titan Quest) with an active player base

priority 3(alternative to alternative): same as priority 2 but with a lower player base

priority 4(alternative to alternatives alternative): a side scrolling or 2d mmorpg with any ammount of players (just mention how many would there be by a percentage)

^^^^ write me which priority y'all actually suggested :)

What one does in trove, you build, crafted find dungeon for gear and loot, upgrade gear and many many more other things.

Is worth it to try as it's not a big download, you have to look pass the blocks and see how the is game and if you like it.

here is a video is a old video, but explain it and a enjoying way.

Project 1999 is packed. The server consistently has 1k-1300 players every night, which if you ever played classic EQ is about the max the server can handle before zones are too packed. Places like Kurn's tower, City of Mist, Crushbone and Karnor's Castle are filled with groups pretty much around the clock.

I suggest moving to consoles because every new MMO is pure garbage with zero immersion and it's just sad that people are forced to play games 16 years old just to get a half decent sandbox experience. Consoles have gone somewhere in a huge way over the last decade, whereas, MMO's have gone literally NOWHERE since WoW so everyone is really better off going to consoles until the genre recovers from this nightmare.

  • BoneserinoBoneserino Member UncommonPosts: 1,768

I think the Project Gorgon and Eldevin are good suggestions.

I played Project Gorgon for a few months and enjoyed it, community seemed ok to me.  It is an unfinished game though so a lot is changing.  Certainly a decent game, worth a look.  No PvP though.

Heard some good about Eldevin as well.   Have not played it.

One thing I find with these threads is that players never come back and tell us if they found a game or why they liked it.   That would certainly help the people that suggest games, because it gives us more info to work with when suggesting games for other people.   So if you find a game that suits you let us know please.   Others might be interested in something similar.
