Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns is one of the biggest topics in the MMO world right now, being the first official expansion to ArenaNet's sequel. As it happens, we're headed to Seattle to see the game next week, and we want your questions to take with us. Post them, as many as you have, beyond the break.

    Will the switch to specialist profession be one time event that will not let you return to your original proffesion ?

    Will it change skills in all proffesion aspects - all weapons skills by all weapons (or some of them) and all traits and skills ?

     

    Or will it be just one additional weapon with it own skills , and some aditional skills and traits ?

    please ask them" what is the concept behind specialization??

    is it gonna mess with class balance both in pvp and pve??

    or

    is it gonna solve some class balance issues like necromancer is weak for dungeon runs due to lack of support skills..is necro specialization gonna solve that??

    They already said you will be able to switch that on the go to adjust to situations.

    Never understood why people consider Necro as too weak. And lack of support?

    Invest 2 points in the blood traitline and life transfer turns into a valid aoe heal. Poison fields will apply weakness to enemies.

    Fear and ice for cc and condition cleansing available en masse.

     

    PS: I'm going with the question whether we will get an additional character slot.

    Are there going to be new UI options like:

    1. Separate On / Off names for Npc’s, Vendors & Quest Npc,s
    2. Separate On / Off names for players, party, guild mates, friends, minions, miniatures
    3. Separate On / Off names for hostile, neutral mobs
    4. On / Off HP bar for all the above
    5. Separate Self On / Off for name, minions, HP bars
    6. Separate Animation Quality Option for self, players, mobs
    7. Option to Show Only Your Conditions On mobs
    8. Separate Char Limit / Quality option for self, other players
    9. Separate Sound option for self, other players skills

    Also

    1. Resizable / Movable Self and Target Frame?

    2. Show Target of Target?

    What kinda cool stuff can normal people get out the guild housing system? and not just the gm having fun with those?

    And yo add to that question: will there even be much underwater combat at all in the expansion? The three added zones since launch have close to zero underwater content.

    1. option for first person view so we can get nice screenshots?

    2. make all current unavailable armor in wardrobe available, like Tribal armor?

    3. will daily pvp tasks change after Stronghold is added?

    My questions are as follows:
     
    • Since the Revenant starts at level 1 as "another class", how does this play into the lore that Rytlock obtained status of being the 1st Revenant  after diving into the Mists to chase after his sword during Season 2?   These events are portrayed to have happened after the Personal Story arc that ends at level 80, so what does this mean for a level 1 Revenant?

    • Any hints at what will be in the Collector's Edition (besides the game client, of course)?"

    • How many different styles/locations are there going to be for Guild Halls?  b.) Any plans to add more in the future beyond the initial HoT release?

    • The announcement at PAX South mentioned that WvW will be revamped so that defending is to be on-par rewarding in relation to flipping (i.e. attacking, capping, leaving, allowing the enemy to take, then repeating it all over again).    Are there any details to this new system?

    • In WvW it's far better for a team to run to an undefended point with a zerg and 4+ rams set up at a single gate, or two Guild/Superior catapults at a wall, than to do long-term siege tactics like it was earlier in the game such as trebs from afar.    Are there plans currently in play to inject more siege usage and mechanics into WvW to help promote a more roundabout game play instead of a one-trick-pony that is door zerging?

    • There was mention that the programmers have been working on adding new things with the engine. (Source: https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/revenant-the-master-of-the-mists/).   That said, has there been any attempted look at increasing the AoE ability cap or removing it altogether?

    • How many jumping puzzles -if any- are being added to the Maguuma jungle?  And will HoT add any additional ones to the game's current zones?

    • Will there be more mini-games added in this expansion?  One particular thought is Polymock and how that poor Asuran has been working on that gate for nearly 3 years now.  Any chance that work gets done finally?

    •  How much water combat has been added to this expansion and is it relevant content any more?  This drills into mind the creation and use of a water based Legendary weapon and the point of crafting one if it will not be used in any of the HoT content.    And although there were technical issues, it's still touted that GW2's water combat is the best in the genre by far distance that many enjoyed (beyond enjoying the hand-crafted environments).    Not including such content would make Quaggan sad. :'(

    • Stronghold looks like a great start in adding new gameplay styles to sPvP other than point control.   Are there any current plans or work being done on other gameplay types for sPvP such as Deathmatch, Capture the Flag, or Skrittball?

    • Super Adventure Box 2015, will it happen?  Is this something that we should mark our calendars for around say....April?

    • With the city of Lion's Arch in rubble (thanks, Scarlet) and the Zephyrite airship destroyed, what other events might we see to replace both Dragon Bash and Festival of the Four Winds?

    • Captain Ellen Kiel was voted into the Captain's Council by players back in 2013.  The result was a minor boon and a future added Fractal the Thaumanova Reactor.      With the result playing right into the Scarlet Briar story line for Season 1, some speculate that this "player voting" might have been ...rigged.   Could you clarify everything on this election, what the other Fractal might have entailed, and why the character chosen has taken a hiatus from the rest of the story?  Will this player choice ever make a future presence and impact on the game again?    Will there be any more chances for players to shape future content like this again?

    Will the revenent be delivered with differences in his skills between pve and pvp as other classes actually have, or will it be well oiled and unified eventhough it might get some of these afterwards?

    * Legendaries are currently constructed via the Gift of Mastery, the Gift of Fortune, the Legendary Weapon Gift and the Precursor. Will this be the same with the new legendaries?

    - If yes; Will the new legendaries contain new Dungeon Gifts? Or will they use the "old ones"? (f. e. Gift of Zhaitan)

     

    * Will there be any new Dungeons?

     

    * How many legendaries are planned? And will there be an "unfair" amount again? (Meaning 3 Greatswords - as an Ele this put me off for quite a while until I got over it and worked on getting Bifrost...)

     

    * What wil the specialisation and the new weapon for Ele be? (Just trying okay? xD)

     

    * New skills means that every class will need a certain amount of skillpoints, right? About how many will be needed to get every skill for one class? (Or for all, just have to divide through 9 then :3)

     

    * How is the "rotation" for the new WvW Map planned? One week the new one and the next week the old maps? Or will we have all 4 at the same time? Or will you "let the players choose"?

     

    (This is not a real question about HoT, but more about the future itself)

    * Do you plan on changing EotM? At the moment the most efficient way of leveling is EotM. More so if you plan on the same side as SFR (for Europe - dunno if there is a server like that in NA as well.).

     

    * Will we get another character slot for free? Or will we have to buy one?
