...to turn a genre I hate into something enjoyable. Over the years I've tried multiple mobas multiple times and just never liked them. Got a beta code for this today and absolutely love it. Don't even know why. It's just fun unlike the other times I've tried playing mobas. Thanks for the code by the way!

If it did not have RTS view and were a 3rd person action like SMITE, i would have ditched SMITE and joined HOTS. but that will never happen.

100 people 100 different tastes :-), I dont like HotS, its fine game, but I dont see any point playing it if there are different (better for me) options like Dota, LoL and even Smite is more enjoyable :-)

Same here. I have tried several MOBAs at the request of several friends and even with them showing me the ropes it just wasnt my cup of tea. HOTS on the other hand is different imo. They took almost all the grinding and micromanagement out of the game and managed to push team fights early game (through map mechanics).

I too am having a lot of fun.

    Current: BDO
Looking forward to: Crowfall & Chronicles of Elyria

As a former top tier HoN player, I lost interest in the genre when players migrated to Dota2 and LoL.

Both of those MOBAs are painfully slow especially in comparison to HoN which has no cast delay on animations and faster movement.

HotS has me once again interested in the genre. It's adapted a much quicker and seamless play style without the grinding and snowballing of other MOBAs.

I'd recommend it to everyone to try even if you hated other MOBAs.

I started playing it as well a couple days ago. So far I'm really enjoying it. The games are fun, fast and the community is decent for a MOBA. It is very much a team game, more than a game like DOTA 2.

One thing which shouldn't be ignored is the payment model. Probably the most expensive AAA MOBA on the market? It would cost something like $300-400 to buy all the heroes? I feel like that is outrageous.

It's because, like other genres, they've taking everything that requires actual thought out of this one. The one exception being Starcraft 2.

HotS is definitely fun, but it's fun like Call of Duty is fun. It's good in bite sized chunks, but the gameplay is very shallow compared to it's peers within the same genre. It gets old imho.

I like the constant team fighting, but not the lack of strategy. Maybe they will change that, since they seem to be determined to make this into an esport, but I'm not holding my breath.

Yeh I really like SMITE's third person view.  If it wasn't for that then I wouldn't have never tried it.  As long as HotS is RTS view like pretty much all of the other big name MOBAs then I guess I will just stick with SMITE for my MOBA itch for now.  It's to bad Blizzard didn't pick up on what Hi-Rez did.

I'm liking it too , its seems very accessible fo moderate players like myself,  however there is already idiots abusing other players in chat, I got called every expletive you can think of ... and that was in my first game ! .. and I didn't even say anything.

I have heard Blizz are going to be banning Toxic players at some point, if they don't it will just end up like Dota and LOL , full of douchebags. Sad but true.  :(

I have never played Smite but I keep asking myself the same thing. Why would anyone play LOL when it's clearly inferior and boring version of dota. At least hots is very different. Lol is practically the same but with little depth and the fun taken out.

It's not like the genre was not dumbed down when that lol game came out. Lol dumbed down the genre and boom it became ultra popular. If people could swallow the dumbing down in lol, I am sure they can do so with hots too.
