I have provided the link to the "Game Summary" of Pantheon's website for their upcoming MMO. I personally hope that ALL of their "Game Tenents" and "Game Features" hold true upon release, as this is what I have been WANTING in an MMO since my first MMO "EverQuest" back in 1999. With the latest update video I saw as well, this game is moving up quickly on my personal "Hype" meter! They seem to have a mindset of the CLASSIC style of MMORPG many of us have been clamoring for on this site as of late. With McQuaid (I know he has issues with money heh) I KNOW the guy will create the type of MMO I want to play since he was co-creator of EQ !

Feel free to post your thoughts regarding the link to their game summary page.

Totally agree. EQ and Vanguard are my two favorite MMOS and this appears to be a combination of the two.
WHOOHOOO, this is the OP (Avirell). I FINALLY remembered my password to my original MMORPG account
YES, I agree, this is becoming my most anticipated MMORPG with all of the information I have been reading of late.
As I am now old, cynical, jaded, etc... and having read the text in the summary, tenets and features I can honestly say I will believe it when I see it. I've read statements like this many times before and when it get down to brass tacks the developers will realise that what they initially stated is too ambitious and cannot be done within budget, time constraints or both.
What they have told us we will get and what we will actually get will be different. Or, it will take so long to produce it as stated that i will be dead and buried before it appears.
Not to deflate the hype, but this is not exactly uncommon.
The general ideas behind many games sound great on paper. It's all up to the execution (and how much our own personal expectations clash with those realities) that determine how much we enjoy them.
Though I will agree, it does sound like a lot of good features / ideas / concepts. This is definitely a game on my radar, though I'm holding off on being too hyped about it for now.
I could not really find anything to disagree with there. It sounds lie they took every single MMORPG forumers complaints and said : We are going to address that in our game.
Maybe someone IS listening to you guys.
I particularly liked the one that said " An immersive world needs intelligent inhabitants".
But again, we are just reading words on a page here. I can't get too excited. In order to meet all those tenets, it is going to require some serious talent, serious time , and serious money.
Show me all that and I might get a little tingle.
FFA Nonconsentual Full Loot PvP ...You know you want it!!
Looks like what I've been looking for alright. Now if they can just deliver and stay on target and not lose sight of the original design is key.
Signed up and watching. Thanks for the link!
LOL @ flizzer!!!
Yeah, that is a GREAT one there isn't it.
Yes , they are the stupid ones.
FFA Nonconsentual Full Loot PvP ...You know you want it!!
No problem Kaledren (this is the OP Avirell here, I am using my original MMORPG account now that I recalled the PW for it about 20 min ago )
..... tis a consummation devoutly to be wished.
However I am still more than a little concerned about Brad McQuaid's ability to deliver.
I wish these devs all the best and hope they deliver on their promises. But it has become increasingly difficult to rally behind words anymore.
While my first and foremost concern is Brad and his 'vision', my second would be his lack thereof. Is he aware of the landscape in games these days? The 'Barrens chat' isn't just in WoW anymore. To my thinking, a game, yes, even an MMOG, that forces not only grouping, but large scale grouping, is a risk.
Being afforded the opportunity, and given reason to do so should be the approach, not the requirement.
Sandbox means open world, non-linear gaming PERIOD!
Subscription Gaming, especially MMO gaming is a Cash grab bigger then the most P2W cash shop!
Bring Back Exploration and lengthy progression times. RPG's have always been about the Journey not the destination!!!
The actively dodge, block, ect bit isn't what you are thinking. Don't worry, it's not going to be action combat, like ESO or something. It's traditional tab target combat, with limited abilites on your hotbar.
They've elaborated more on it in some interviews. They basically said that it means you may have to avoid boss abilities, like moving to avoid an aoe for example. Or click an ability to block an attack. But not action combat.
I was all in for the initial early hype during the KS. Made my pledge, incited referrals, discussed it a lot, hell even idled in a fan IRC channel for awhile. I have now found myself quite dubious though, especially after the KS and what ensued over the next few months.
If this goes forward with the original intent/vision in mind, all for the better. Until I see the compliment of traditional combat, group focused, and involved crafting in action I just leave this on the side as a "We'll see."
It's not uncommon for poor implementation or poor management to mangle a cool idea this early in development.
Thanks for posting this information Avirell and I am glad you find our Tenets and Game Features appealing, most of us have either worked on or played either EQ and/or VG for many years, so we are definitely passionate and driven to implement these Tenets and Features into Pantheon.
We are creating Pantheon as it's own game but with the mindset that it is a spiritual successor to EQ/VG, so we will try and get the best of both games into Pantheon while also adding some of our own idea's and features to help bring Pantheon out into it's own spot light.
We have a long way to go but we are excited with the progress we have made in such a short time and look forward to even better progress over the next few months with a switch to Unity 5 and other Features and Core Mechanics being worked on, including Classes and Races which is really exciting
Thanks for the continued support, we appreciate it a lot and that goes for everyone who is keeping an eye on us, spreading the word and donating to help us, it means a lot!
