I'm getting the impression you don't actually design your character. You use an archtype, like the Knight. 

So every Knight looks the same? Has the same race, gender, appearance?

Character design/creation is an essential element in an RPG. I think being unable to design how my character looks is a deal breaker for me in an MMORPG...

    The one thing I'm worried about in character creation is that, are the classes going to be race locked? As funny it would be as a gunslinger gerbil, I would rather be a human dualist or even a dwarf guy.

    in a word, yes.

     

    They will really have to give players a lot of choices when it comes to outfits/armour, otherwise players are going to be 'lost in the crowd' image

    4. Can the character appearances be customized?

    Yes. We will offer the ability to customize your character (hair styles, color and face) in Character Creation. Further customization can be done in-game, by collecting equipment.

     

    So: Appearance and status customization upon character creation, further customization via armors and weapon.

    Race/Class locked? Yes. Appearance, no. What you are seeing is the first full models of characters, there will be tons of custom action options for face/hair.

    The points system sounds very much like what I wanted years ago that was similar to the Masters of Orion II "picks" system.

     

    I thought it a great way to create a custom race.

    Some of them. The monster ones are, but the human ones aren't.

    Kind of like Amazons are always female. For lore and or financial limits, they are locking some now or forever.

    I seriously doubt that.

    They keep on saying character creation will be extensive skill wise. And I am totally sure the character editor will have looks customisation option. Its a staple of MMO and they are real veterans of MMO design. They know that
