I for one have not been misled, and I actually hope they never get around to building the other lands.  Faction PvP is fundamentally broken, and I don't really see how GvG is any different from Dregs.

Shadowbane was closest to Dregs, and the main flaws with games that came afterwards were caused by the more formalized rulesets.

So, if the game nevers gets out of Dregs, I'll be happy :D

Nah, not having other rulesets at launch would be missed opportunity. It would certainly attract more people and since this is a game that needs all the money it can get, unless they get awful lot of people onboard just for dregs, other campaigns would mean new and more stuff - for everyone.

Faction pvp if done right can be good, and wit their setup it would be quite easy to balance since i dont think you would be able to choose faction, but as you join you would be put in faction that needsplayers the most at that moment.

of course not everyone has been misled, but if they asked the entire backer community, yes all 12k a question . Such as, when you backed the project, were you 100% aware that the only campaign we are promising is the FFA "dreg" ruleset?  We want others, but we cannot guarantee them. I bet at least 50% wouldn't of realized that the "faction" and guild vs "guild" part of their kickstarter video wasn't even really apart of the 800k they were going for. In fact they have slowly leaked more and more information backtracking on their promises.  Including voxel, which i am sure they will end up getting included because they have to, even though they eluded recently it may not make it. But, they were hopeful it was. Of course the thread i made, had a dev come to their rescue and backtrack what was said.

You take video games seriously? Might be the first issue.

Most people take their hobbies seriously to some degree whether their hobby is salsa dancing, sports, reading, collecting toe-nails, etc etc etc. No matter how impressive or inane your preferred past time is, they're all equally pointless to the next person over.

Also, if you're going to call someone out about taking video games seriously, you should reconsider having 1300+ posts on a forum about video games, lest someone gets the wrong impression and inadvertently believes you take them seriously too.

Sorry, being a smart ass doesn't always translate easily for me on the internet =)

I like games just as much as everyone else, but like you said they are a hobby and not something I get too worked up about or that I'm emotionally attached to.

Not saying the poster I responded to is, but comments like that are just silly to me.

Guess I find it strange that there are folks out there that go "Oh ya look at those graphics, this is serious business!" They are games meant for entertainment and fun. Obviously we all have our preferences and what not, but dismissing a product because of one element and slapping terms like "kids cartoon" on it is a bit too much for me to not laugh at.

Would love to see a fantasy mmorpg that doesn't look like children would play it. Off the top of my head can't think of any "adult" oriented ones.

You are right, but shouldn't be too difficult to reach that much cash either way. Between KS, funding through the site, and selling the right to Asia and what not, they'll have enough cash to make a few more rulesets. It is pretty much the entire focus of the game. If they couldn't pull it off, would assume the first goal would of been GvG or whatever instead of another artist to make it look pretty. Between now and the end of 2016 if they can't raise enough to create more rulesets, I would be highly surprised. You pulled your support yet?

Anyone that actually cares or would be worried about it should of figured it all out by now. Still plenty of time to back out if anyone is doubting ACE. Not sure why you are still being so negative about it. Pretty bent on proving something to someone from the looks of it. The secrets out folks, get your money back while you can!!!

Honestly, the more and more i read and feel about it. It feels very guild wars 2 to me, both in the pvp and the instanced pvp tournaments, wow arena's really ruined PVP.   I can't forgive that, same with guild wars 2's non world vs world "tournament" pvp. None of it IMO belongs in a mmorpg. Maybe i am just oldschool. My 425 and 150 are still there, but i'd say i'm almost 75% sure backing both out.

To each their own. Despite my great times with DAoC/WAR, the more I read/see of CU, the more glad I am that I didn't back it. Just don't really get the need to be negative to prove something that is entirely subjective.

The tournament stuff and what not seems to be ideas they are throwing at the wall to see if they stick. As you pointed out, only the Dregs have been confirmed right now so anything else is to be determined both financially and fan response.

Although it does sound like it is entirely optional and not THE game. Which is what I like about CF, they are trying to provide a wide variety of options for what typically is only a poor attempt at RvR, eSport arenas, or mindless FFA. They can offer them and if no one likes them, poof they are gone. Instead of making them the only option or not an option at all.

But I'm a fan of variety and options. It's why I grew tired of EQ, DAoC, WAR, WoW, GW2, etc. I don't mind doing the basic design over and over, but it needs to be mixed up and CF is planning to do just that. Although I'm still amazed how many people stick with games like WoW year after year. If Blizzard could figure out how to turn that addiction into a pill, they'd really be bringing in the profits.
