Greetings fellow Crusaders, and it's time for another look into the world of Eternal Crusade. Actually, this week we are going to look, not only at Eternal Crusade, but at some other Games Workshop titles that are currently in production that have piqued my interest.

Why would you expect terminators to be melee based?
Sure, in the tabletop game you can give terminators a thunder hammer and storm shield or a pair of lightning claws, but an autocannon or missile launcher and power fist is just as valid.

The Dark Nexus Arena lore, while relatively broken to the actual lore, is probably the least lore-breaking option they could have gone with when it comes to making up an excuse-plot for a MOBA that lets players battle against each other using any combination of heroes possible.
....well, second-least lore-breaking I suppose. IMHO the least-lore breaking option would have been to have it take place in the warp as an illusion/dream/hell set up by the Chaos Gods. You can't break lore in a realm where the laws of physics and death and time don't exist in the first place after all. Actually, that would have excused the variety of maps a lot more, too. Oh well, Commaragh is sliiightly in the warp I guess.
God I wish I was still playing warhammer online, miss it so much
To be fair, in a MOBA a teleporting tanky ranged DPS would be a little overpowered. While a squishy Terminator would...not feel like a terminator at all. Similarly, if he was just a Ranged Tank, having an Assault Cannon or Missile Launcher do less damage than a Bolter in the hands of a Space Marine would be just as silly.
All the time playing it I wished it was 40k, but I miss it nonetheless Choppppaaaaaa

trained to kill,
ready to die,
but never will!
I'm right there with you all. Great times in that game.
Just like D&D had major problems with moving their ruleset to computers, the same has happened with Games Workshop.
To make such games playable there has to be major adjustments to the rules and both companies have been very resistant to such. Hence major headaches for developers.
