Hi, this has happened to me recently and wondering if its a carbine type of thing or other games are know to do this aswell.
I pre purchased wildstar and played at launch and played around 2-3 months I cancelled my sub then they charged me anyway (was a common issue at the time), so i charged back just the $15 they had taken after I cancelled my sub through paypal.
Decided to try it again lately and I knew I had some plat purchased credd left downloaded client to find out my account is suspended, contacted support they told me it was because of the charge back and they are not going to reverse the decision.
I am pretty pissed about this they took money they were not authorised to take then perma ban my account for getting it back.
Just after your guys opinions on this are they in the right to do this? should I have not done a chargeback? either way I guess I wont ever play Wildstar again. If anyone does know a way I can take this up with ncsoft themselves I would like to know as e-mail's etc I found are no longer used.

I may be misreading this, but it sounds like there was a breakdown in communication here. The steps you took read like, "The store overcharged me for my milk purchase. I took the difference out of their till. Now they do not want me in their store." Whenever there is an issue with any company, it is usually best to deal with that company directly by bringing the issue to their attention. If they fail to resolve the matter to your satisfaction then you look to your alternatives such as charge back through paypal. If this happens in the future with any game then you may want to consider contacting support first as they are unlikely to know why you are blocking payment or attempting to charge them.
I blog sometimes. http://kibitzknook.blogspot.com/
I did consider that at the time, a ticket was the only way to contact carbine and they weren't known for their speedy answer times norm took a good week or so to even get the first reply.
I was also just mad that they took the money after I had cancelled and didn't want it to happen again.
Demanding a credit card/PayPal charge back usually means they ban you in response. You're far from the first person to get that. I know NCSoft's pretty famous for it, but I think most MMOs will do it. Essentially they see it as stealing from them.
It is pretty lame though if you cancelled your account on time and they still charged you. And if for some reason you're being untrue here about cancelling on time, well... then you'll know what not to do next time.
Your best bet is probably to contact their support and see if you can get it settled that way.
TL:DR: Charge backs will almost always get you banned. Try to sort it out with the company itself first before resorting to them.

Hate to sound like this, but Nymie is right.
As to permaban, you "may" be able to get them to relent if you get someone that isn't a list monkey and isn't currently pissed. Along those lines, don't throw insults, threats, or mention lawyers/laws.
Point out to them the cancellation time of your account, then the time of the improper charge.
With luck, they may help. And remember, if you've exhausted the options with the person you are talking to, then politely request to speak to someone higher up the chain. This will often require a callback, so don't go demanding to talk to them right now, as that tends to be unreasonable and likely to get you hung up on, or passed back into to queue with "this guys a jerk" note on your file.
Remember, those people in customer service (and tech support) are there to try and help you, but there are limits to what they can do, and procedures they must follow. However, they don't have to put up with verbal abuse. Besides, people are a lot more willing to go out of their way or bend the rules a bit for someone that's nice.
Lost my mind, now trying to lose yours...
thanks for the responses guys I do have another ticket going atm explaining exactly what happened hopefully they will give my account back. I just wasn't in the mood for their cs at the time it took me over 2 weeks to get missing ce mount and prob acted without thinking it through as at the end of the day it was only 15.
Wasn't past time was over 2 weeks before my credd expired that I cancelled it the first time had no need for a sub as I got alot of credd early when it was cheap.
Goodluck! I hope they restore your account!

ESO did the same to me when i first bought the game and since i didnt resub they returned the money to my account.
The information ive seen/heard out there is that some mmo companies (subscription based mmos) do this for some reason. Ive heard its to ensure the person has the funds to pay for the game time in question, or something like that. Im not 100% sure as to why they do it, thats just what i've heard.
As for the charge back... dont do a charge back without contacting the game company first because that will be your last resort to get your money back, but in most cases you will not play that game again after a charge back.
perma banning an account after a charge back is pretty much universal as far as mmos go. you should have emailed customer support and asked them to refund the money that they overcharged you first.
that being said if your persistant and get the right customer support person they may unlock your account.
Your charge back may cost them additional $ fined by CC company on them.
Charing back is gonna get you banned and that is true with all online games and other online products/services.
