I was excited up to Aeria games.

EOS is insanely popular in Korea. It's even more popular than both Archeage and Tera combined. But don't be fooled into thinking this is the next L2. It's pretty much a wow clone with Instace raids and BG's at end game.

What I worry about is paying to purchase keys, identify loot, upgrade armor/weapons, RNG items, etc.   Aeria games, last I  checked, seems to excel at this. I would love to be proved wrong.

Oh look yet another eastern solo mmo that looks just like all the other terrible ones.

Omg..really ???!!!?? ..This game looks SO bad. Is there really anyone that likes oversized swords that  doesnt even look like sword, and teenage Girls that carries these swords, It's just so ugly and redicoulous.

Can't understand how anyone can be happy about this, it looks as it is the same game released (several asian MMO's) over and over again..

    Ohh Well..

Aeria has a pretty tough rep, but they're making strides with their more recent releases and EOS is shaping to be on of the most friendly yet.

Give it a shot before you condemn it :)

The graphics look really old already. Aeria Games should bring Icarus Online to Europe and the US instead.

"In addition, leaderboards keep track of players with the fastest clear times and special titles are awarded to players that kill certain bosses first."

These kinds of features, while not bad ideas themselves, are responsible for those repulsive and toxic communities in many mmos. Plus from the video shown,  there seems to be nothing that i haven't seen before in the multiple asian mmos that have come before this one. So nope don't think so.....

P.S. Oh and gender-locked classes? Is this still a thing at 2015? Seriously?

Well Aeria does have a tough rep, but certainly not as bad as some. They do tend to put the "very best" of everything behind a pay wall, needing you to buy "upgrade" scrolls/stones and the like, but they also do a pretty decent job at allowing even free players to still have access to all content.

So sure, if you want to be the best warrior on your server, you may need to pay to get all those "+12"s but if you dont want to pay, not having those upgrades doesnt stop you from doing even the hardest of endgame raid content. The only place you will notice not "paying" will be in some form of PVP arena/battleground. So I guess it depends on your playstyle.

Personally, there are a ton of better options for PVP, so I wouldnt waste any money trying to be the best here, but it looks like a really decent PVE game, and alot of newer games dont offer endgame raiding anymore. I look forward to the 10/20 mans, and will just PVP elsewhere.

Yea, I can see that this game is nothing like L2 even though they say its made by some ex L2 devs. Still going to give it a try but Cabal 2 is the one I am really looking forward to the most.

I'm with you! Can't stomach the "style" of these games western or eastern market with the ridiculous MAMMOTH weapons (all a-glow), and the child-characters and the cat-people... (asian market always has the cat-people...)

Ya my wife and I both did. Like how they are using Arch Classes. Archer becomes a Hunter or a Bard. I just wonder once you have picked one if you need to reroll to play the other.

Just read this company is owned by Nexon, is that not a big bad name in the gaming community? The guys trying to push around Trion?
  • DevilSephDevilSeph Member UncommonPosts: 147

Don't really care about graphics or big swords small words or if it's glowing or not if the gameplay is fluid and you can have open world combat etc like in Lineage2

If it's instantly succesfull in Korea than it might be similar to Lineage 2 .

Common Cabal 2 and Echo of Soul have high hopes if not we still have Star citizen, Lineage Eternal , Lost Ark, woaaa lol no games at the moment and they all come in the same time why why why :D

It has the potetial to be one of the best mmo for yeas even be a wow killer !!!!

I find it funny, how people feel the need to complaina bout gender locking when mmorpgs are concerned, but not so for single player games.

How many people complain Link is always a boy? How many people complain you can't choose to be a "female" Kratos? How many people complain you can't be a female assassin in the Assassin's Creed games? How many people complain that Samus is a female? How many people complain that you can't be a male "Croft" in the Lara Croft games?

The answer is little to none. So astronomically little that you just plain don't even see those complaints unless you're specifically looking for them. So why then do people just love to complain when it comes to mmorpgs? It's a curious thing to watch.

2 things you miss. Single player games are at best play and walk away from after 10-60hrs game play. With an MMO you are looking at an avatar for sometimes years. 2nd they picked making a mmoRPG not a single player console game. So I dont want to RP an woman, my wife does not want to RP a man. So that limits class selection. So ya, its a HUGE deal breaker.

Look's like really awsome game apart form the fact that it's not an open world :( more like Neverwinter soo might be skipping this
  • synnsynn Member UncommonPosts: 563

Yeah if it weren't for the reputation aeria game has than I would be hyped about this game. Unfortunately due to my past experience playing some of their games, I'm more than a little skeptical of how their cash shop will run.

    No healer... ugh.

    An unoriginal graphics style... ugh.

I didn't catch a single reference to any story the game might have... UGH!
