I like nothing more than finding some weird or unknown MMO and presenting it like a baby to the world. That’s how it happens in my head, at least, but the truth is that all of the MMOs I find and think “I discovered this!” were already discovered by someone else, or else they wouldn’t have existed for me to find them! Still, it’s important to show off indie or lesser-known MMOs to anyone I can.

"The Society that separates its scholars from its warriors will have its thinking done by cowards and its fighting by fools."
Currently: Games Audio Engineer, you didn't hear what I heard, you heard what I wanted you to hear.
I actually like Guns and Robots, and as for the matchmaking, I have not even once thought that it was particularly terrible or even bad Normally you can only be matched up with bots 1 tier higher than you, and if that happens normally you have the same amount of higher tier bots as your opponent's team (and I play only tier 1 bots so I never play with anyone a lower rank than me). The author is probably bad at the game, didn't contribute, and blamed the matchmaking on his losses.
I wouldn't call Guns and Robots an MMO, it's just a multiplayer shooter.
these straw mans/ad hominems tho
Waiting for:
The Repopulation
Albion Online
"We all do the best we can based on life experience, point of view, and our ability to believe in ourselves." - Naropa "We don't see things as they are, we see them as we are." SR Covey
Guns&Robots: "hits even a decent rig like mine pretty hard"
I played it a while back on a crappy duo core 2.2ghz, 7790 and 4gb ram without a problem.
These are "Unique" finds? Dear god. Well they're unique alright. Unique shite.
Perhaps the OP should rename this one, 5 MMO's your unlikely to have any interest in
It pretty much amounts to the same thing anyway, Never played usually also means Never likely to play after all
Royal Quest is russian clone of korean grindfest+sieges game Ragnarok Online. Devs justified every decision by "it worked well in Ragnarok" or "Ragnarok players wanted this all the time". Ragnarok was solid niche game with multi-million population (partially on private shards) so Royal Quest had a chance.
Too bad devs didnt actually understand RO players, so RQ ended up being game without target audience. As if it was not bad enough, publisher rushed release and pushed poor business practices, like commercial open beta, so game lost initial enthusiastic population and simply had to rely on handful of unexacting players for feedback.
Good game studio, authors of Space rangers and Kings Bounty remake, made dead-born MMO, all thanks to project lead Dmitry "I know everything better than stupid players" Gusarov and impatient publisher 1C.
Well what do you know... A list that was 100% right... Not only have i not played any of these games... I have not even heard of 4/5...
I intend to keep it that way, =P
This have been a good conversation
First PC Game: Pool of Radiance July 10th, 1990. First MMO: Everquest April 23, 1999
So What Now?
Might get Amazing World for my children. Then again...Free Realms it ain't. Of course, Amazing World is still alive and Free Realms is dead and gone to the same place Vanguard ended up in.
As for the other "games" on this list...I don't know. Why bother with them when you could be playing something like Skyrim, or ESO, or even Wildstar? I guess if you have 40 hours a week to play, sure. If you have limited time, stay away from this list!
