I removed my example here because I don't want the thread to be confused. I'm not upset about a particular moderation I've received. I just wanted to speak on moderation in general and I want to try to keep things that will cause problems out of the thread.
So you want to speak about moderation, but you remove an example of a moderated post? So what's the context then? In my opinion, you did something wrong, posted the example and then didn't want others to actually critique what you said. I've been banned numerous times and they provide you with a category, reason, and the post itself. If you can't go back and figure out why they would have banned you, then maybe you're the problem.
Will they ban you for excessive negative comments? Yeah, they will. Will they ban you if you are being negative and have some logical, relevant argument? No! I'm negative on here regularly, but I support my argument and and keep it within the context of the thread. So if you actually want some feedback on your post, I don't know why you'd remove it.

And this is an example of why public discussion of instances of moderation isn't permitted.

You don't know, because you didn't read.
I don't want feedback on a particular post I made, because it doesn't matter. This thread isn't about negotiating my particular grievances - it's about negotiating moderation in general.
I removed a particular incident that I previously recorded as an example, because people asked for an example. Not an example for the sake of critiquing it, but as an example to demonstrate the theme of my original post. I obliged them in a moment of error, sir. However, this thread isn't about a particular incident, it is about moderation in general. I moderated myself, because I am willing to correct my mistakes when I acknowledge that I am in error.
So, now you're being unnecessarily negative... and you're off topic. I made efforts to correct a mistake I made. I would hope you could correct yours.
Stop censoring and banning people because they legitimately defend their points against people who constantly raise objections.
Can you give examples?
Go to any random MMO thread, I would recommend a certain Blizzard mmo if you want to test it, say that you are not impressed by new patch notes, post exactly why with valid reasons without insulting the game and it's community and just wait for that community to rage "HOW DARE HE TO QUESTION THE QUALITY OF MY GAMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!" ,spamming the report button like mad and wait for the mail to kick in.
"You have been warned for trolling".
:P
I just looked at this post in WoW forum. People are criticizing parts of the game and have not been banned or censored.
It is not often that forums allow discussion of moderation. Im surprised this thread has reached 3+ pages. If I was a moderator, I'd have deleted it by now, and explained to you that it isnt allowed. - You'd take issue with it, but thats not really something I'd be bothered by, since as a moderator I'd know that thousands of users all wanting a megaphone and a soapbox in every thread to dominate a subject with their pov is detrimental to the overall health of the forums. When one such user continues to dominate to the point of exasperating the conversation he is engaging in, its alot easier to just cuff him. - Thats how moderation works on forums. Especially large ones. There are just too many people who think their pov or opinion is superior to everyone elses, and its impossible to convince snowflakes in congregation that they can not all be equally important or their opinions especially noteworthy. So rigid rules, and the path of least resistance my young padawan, that is the motto of all moderators.

It happens, dude.
Of course.
But making it sound like it happens to innocent victims on a regular basis is nonsense.
To understand this site you have to understand that a lot of threads you will be involved in will probably have a Mod on their posting account in it and every Mod is just a human with their own games/ play styles to 'defend'.
I honestly don't think it's site policy to censor to protect their revenue or whatever, I think it's honestly just the clique of Mods and their mates looking out for each other. The result is very uneven moderation as some are banned for the same things others are doing in the same way in the same thread because they disagreed with the wrong person.
The old saying is very true here; It's not what you know, it's who you know.
You haven't received anything since 1/25/14, which tells me this is probably your dupe account. If you have an issue with an infraction, respond to your auto-generated e-mail and I'll be glad to go over it with you.
