Yet another fun thread for everyone on the new changes due in Landmark. Mainly being posted here for those of you not regularly visiting the landmark forums, I have posted links for everyone to read up on the coming changes that the development team has been so kind to inform us of for the coming wipe. They still have more details incoming next week, so I will be updating this thread as necessary until the wipe has taken place.
Update: The wipe date has now been moved from May 4th to May 11th!
Update 2: The wipe has now been changed for a third time at the last minute. It has officially been announced for May 5th tomorrow!
Unfortunately this update is so big that the game may be down for 2-3 days, get ready!

Originally the wipe was suppose to have been the end of April, but was pushed up to May with reason that they wanted an extra week to work on testing and get rid of a few more bugs. For answers on the coming wipe please click the link to the Q/A thread below. Till next time!

I don't understand why they don't add more creatures and work on combat. I can only build so much, than I get bored.

WHY take NPC's from surface world? I hope they bring them back eventually.....

Whelp, they haven't said, but my guess would be it's related to the issues they were having with the mobs attacking the players while they were on their claims, which was not suppose to happen. Then again it could be they are also trying another approach with the way mobs behave on the surface.
Fact is it could be any reason, closed beta's are very unpredictable. On a light note this change has players asking for non-aggressive NPCs (like animals) in place of the mobs to make the world seem more alive. They said they are considering it for later update, how soon though has not been stated.

I'm with you on this and though I know the time for great adventure is with the "content tool" update down the road throwing us a bone would be great. This may be that short term bone.... maybe. I like the concept of using achievements as progression that have some palpable reward but I'll have to play and see what it feels like. They didn't give any details on the defensive abilities that were supposed to release with the wipe so hopefully they are keeping it for the "tah-dah!" moment... maybe along with some other things?
Overall progress which is good to see. Somewhere Terry has a spreadsheet of future dates and milestones. This milestone means the next can be targeted.
