Sandbox return to DFUW after 2 years

DevilSephDevilSeph Member UncommonPosts: 147

Ok guys I am going to be honest here.

First of all great graphics, fluid gameplay, huge sandbox map, sieges, full loot. SO where are the players?

Now the bad points:

The community is pretty toxic except the normal ones who never chat.

There are no classes, everybody runs around with 2 handed swords.

The worst of all:

Had to spent 100 bucks to retalent dozens of time because u get a dozens of patch that nerf skills even more.

The game currently is unplayable as a mage so if u enjoy to run around with a sword as the other 80 % players and also  just run around like headless chicken and try hiting eachother if u like this kind of mediocre gameplay than its your game. Funny is how ppl accept the fact that there is no point running a mage than they call this game hard and skillfull.

If you want pvp you have to travel 1 hour and hopefully you can lure some players out from the castle if they see you are more they wont come out , time wasted.

The onloy reason i keep playing this game because i invested to much money in it and frustrates me.

I hate myself so much when i decided to play this game runing 2 accounts for 1 month and buy 500 selentine just to comprehend that there is no f... spell that gona save me from wariors and when finally i saw a feign light and i started to win some duels they f nerf the gear and the main mage skill so im back to 0.

Probably no one will read this post anyway because no one cares about this game to much.

Pvp loot will always attract the worst in the MMO community...sadly.

Why lure people out of the castle when you can toss up a ladder and get inside?

I enjoyed the game more when there were classes and roles people could play.  It still has the best action MMO combat hands down.  And the world is remarkable.  Unfortunately the type of people this game attracts (PvP crazed) don't seem to appreciate anything that isn't PvP related.  I still play the game even though I don't really love PvP.  I love the world, the smooth fluid real time combat and lack of being told what to do by NPC's.  There really is nothing else out there like this and thus I keep playing.  The game is actually fairly polished at this point.  People that want freedom, or free aim combat, this is the best there is in the genre.

I actually enjoyed the pve in DF1. I'm not sure how it is in DFUW now (played the first month after launch at it was fun).

It was fun to find a dungeon somewhere and block off a section with my crafted lockboxes and go to work farming/grinding skills for a while. There was always the threat of pvp, but you could have some fun pve sessions. The world was huge and I loved all the out of the way islands and things you could find out there that made exploration worthwhile.

Unfortunately, where I live, I get hideous ping which is bad when the pvp does happen. I practically had to use a polearm to compensate for lag. Hard to hit targets with ranged, especially archery. It looks like you're hitting them but you're not. imageProbably, that part is still the same.

If you have good ping (under 100) then I would give DFUW a shot.

After the initial change of darkfall's original game description; it has always been focused on PvP.   It really shouldn't be a surprise that there is a large population of PvP driven players.

Ok so I finally gave up. I deleted the game.

In 15 years !!!!!!! never played with more idiotic game like this.

Just one example : Mage vs Warior , mage does 15-20 dps the warior does 45.

Mage has no cc no snare no nothing but he can run and defend with shield

warior can chase mage does big dps has speed and snare. The community agres with one thing well if u see a plate as mage just run...

Ok gg Adventurine i really  hope you  never ever ever create 1 more game in your life because you suck so much at it.

iy's a  huge arena with no pve and no classes , unfair pvp booring fight ( u run around in  circle and try hiting with sword)

There is one server and it's empty only a few players.

Don't feel bad. I believed Richard Garriott and pledged $800 to Shroud of the Avatar before it became clear the game is designed for the few, funded my the many. $800 is apparently part of the many. $5,000+ and your feedback is heard.

Sometimes it takes time (and money) to discover how bad something really is. Sad, but true.

BTW, many of us DO care. I hate to see people waste money on these things.

Lol dude there is no fuckin way i would spend 1 dime on a game that is not released atleast in closed Beta mode. Richard Garriot is douchebag , Tabula Rasa was an awesome game and instead of heal the game,  just shut it down. Blizzard shut down Titan after 7 years and made a stupid teamfortess  copy on the name of overwatch. I don't have one game that i could play atm. 800 bucks? damn dude , now i feel better :)

That's a thing of history now. People that play DF for PVP got the middle finger from AV with the last updates. Focus is on pve, solo capping villages naked and excessive travelling times. People with a full warehouse only get the insane travel times. And if they are very very lucky, also a pvp fight on one of the rare occasions when you actually meet a player (on semi dead EU server). And if you are extremely lucky the fight won't be totally one sided.

Badly enough the developer put the focus on PVE/long travelling times without adding any content. So the game still is a PVP sandbox for the lack of other content, except that they made finding PVP really hard and time intensive. Maybe that will change if they are able to introduce new content, but right now the game is a weird state.

    LFG!

those changes were the fundation for the features to come.

why do regionlized loot when you can instant travel. the devs even explained it in their posts

OP, was going to tell you that, the company in itself will make you quit the game eventually, but it looks like you already discovered that yourself. Sadly AV is the worst company to be carrying such a great title and ideal.

AV needs to sell Darkfalls rights away, and i mean Darkfalls rights, not Unholy wars, they can keep that shit.

most of the community quit darkfall..

Eevryone is waiting for the emulator of df1.. which will hopefully come sooner then i expect

  • CaldrinCaldrin Member UncommonPosts: 4,505
DF1 was a great game but they managed to remove everything that was good in DF1 and called it DFUW... they seem to be slowly adding everything back in but its too late most people have left.
