Ive played Archeage since Beta, loved the game. I have no problem with the business plan, if people feel the need to spend large amounts of money on  a game then good for them.

I just have a subscription which is pretty cheap. I have good gear and have a great time in this game without have to pay any extra costs.

Im really happy about this new patch, its something ive been hoping they would bring, its really give more incentive for naval battles, it also has given a bunch of achivements with nice rewards too.

The only thing i still feel the game needs is to create more incentive for players to redo all the dungeons not just one or two of them. Maybe a few new ultra rare drops in all the higher lvl dungeons and harder difficulties for the low lvl ones so players can actually do dungeons at low lvls and not just walk through them while one high lvl character kills everything for you.

For those that actually play - this is what most of us have been waiting for since Alpha as this the first half of 1.7

I did something today I haven't done since launch - I logged my characters out (2 accounts) - patron offline regen at 10 yes please!

Taking a good look at this post, it appears that to play AA without paying a ton in the cash shop, you can instead run a machine 24/7 for months.  If you don't have spare machines to just gather AA labor points, then forget it.

    Weird.

Is like any mmo you have 2 accounts to max out how much gold or item you can get, I use to do this in wow, have 2 sometimes 3 to max out my gold to over pass need for gold to get things.

No, in this case, you earn Labor Points when you are logged in (unless you pay $), so this poster had a machine on 24/7 logged in for months to get around the limitation. Ordinary players can't do this, so they either pay money, or suffer.

Yes Ordinary players can't do this, just not in arch age just how mmo are general, is one got pay or time liked a 2nd job then fun, there will never a fair system for everyone.

Looks like a nice patch, but until they redo the labor point design, which I don't see happening, I don't think I will try it again.

To those that enjoy it, have fun.

The level of disconnect between this forum and actual reality is really laughable sometimes.

600K ACTIVE players? Bwwaaahahahaaahaaa I dont think there were that many when it first launched. They might have to scrounge to find 600 accounts let alone active players.

You do realize people can still log in right? And they can see how empty the servers are right? And how no servers ever get to high anymore, most dont even get to medium.

This update might cause a small surge for this weekend but I imagine this time next week it will be where it has been for the past 6 months.

And still this game just hits every "Meh" button.

I don't care how much they change it. This game can't be much better than what it was at launch.

Which is not very good, IMO

In regards to 1.7, this patch is a game changer for AA. If there was ever a time to give AA a chance again, this is it. Don't be a sheep, don't let the uninformed haters control your decisions. Think for yourself, be open to the fact that things can and have gotten better. Or you can just keep on hating while you endlessly search for your next MMO while the best MMO to grace us in over 10 years is right in front of you and the only thing keeping you from it is your pride.

In this case Trion deserves praise for a great/smooth patch release! GG Trion!

    LOL..uninformed haters..too funny.

Gameplay looks like it is getting to what is should have been at release last year. Too bad its still filled with hackers and bots, which will come back if more people come back. Only reason why people think they 'fixed' them is because many left because the populations died.

Sad that the game is run the way it is. Some great features wasted on a game no one wants to play because it costs too much money.

I see somebody is (again) making up stuff to support his "facts" while everyone who doesnt bow down to Trion is wrong as always.

Well since you don't seem to grasp what the topic is, it is ArcheAge.  They did not make any changes to the most disliked part of the game, the labor system, so what do you expect.   You won't get a lot of praise when they continue to ignore such.

Oh and I think the term you should have used is "dislike".  Just because someone criticizes a game does not mean they hate it.  The misuse of the word "hate" on this forum is atrocious.

This game had an extremely messy launch and the queue situation really hurt things overall. 4-7 hours for queues which didn't have to be that way. Whether it was Trion or XL Games who limited the servers and tried to work out a very patron vs non patron queue that just was badly broken. So they added more servers and more servers which in the end hurt things even more by the dying population. They should of never added the last 4 servers on NA, there was absolutely no need for this, they could of changed it so there was no queue. I was pretty established on my first server but those long queue times made me search out a new server. Think about it.. you queue up and end up sitting there for 4+ hours in a queue.. things come up in real life and sometimes you don't know what you're going to be doing in 4-7 hours. So I found a new server and was enjoying it only to have them finally decide to make it so there were no more queues a few weeks later after people were in their new servers. The situation really made you shake your head thinking they could of done this weeks ago and there would of been no need for new servers.

Then the land grabber with their script tools who would take land and the script didn't allow any normal players to win if a house demo'd.. it was a mess. On top of that you had the Auction House scripts that would steal auctions at the last second. The cheaters were a huge issue and land was one of the most important parts of the game. Thats not even mentioning the teleport hacks and other hacks going on. It was just sad and they were a big contribution to what went wrong.

Then you had tons of people who abused the apex exploit which destroyed the value of items throughout the economy. It also flooded the AH with apex and prices rose constantly to outrageous prices. That was pretty bad but what made it worse is Trion's poor handling of the situation. Their CEO stated that only a few people abused this.. that is completely and utterly false. Tons and tons of people abused this but Trion only took action vs some and many of them were allowed back into the game. Many said they were innocent and the sad part was Trion believed most and even said they were wrong. The sad part was a lot of these players that used it would brag about how they cheated and some even called Trion out laughing at them.

The Auroria launch was so bad over half the people couldn't even log in to try to do one of the most important things, try to obtain castles and land on the new continent. On the flip side most of the land was taken by landgrab scripters and taken in a very short time.

Then they decided to break patch 1.7 into pieces lol. This part of the content should of already been released. The whole thing is been a wreck.. this game had soo much potential and it just went downhill more and more as time went on. Thousands left the game and got tired of what was going on. The game pop was dwindling down pretty bad to where Trion finally decided to put the game on Steam.

So much hatred. Yeah the payment models can suck. But while all of you who hate the game so much waste time posting about how much you hate it (Which really makes you a giant tool) i have been enjoying this games very rich and fun world. Try the game if you do not like it then leave it. Giving children a voice has trully screwed the gaming industry. You hate it so much....right.

It really is amateur year at trion, even rift is getting more and more buggy after each update. They need to cut AA loose and focus on their other projects before the whole company sinks.

    Hilarious!

You're actually paying for a game to be AFK! Keep on playing then, i for one stopped.

I hope them allow player to buy the labor from NPC use in game gold with fixed price 20~25g .

The labor ether time (AFK) or money consume , nothing good here .

Gold farmer still make ton of golds to sell and normal player mostly quit because the price rise too high.

    Also

IDK if they ready fix the port camping in safe maps and car block.

They are easy to do by make all safe maps at "peace" and allow car push other car out of the way. Sadly until i quit , the problem still hot and not fixed.

What they called "nice" patch just another patch to get more money .

Tell the true , while i don't like labor system , i don't mind to deal with it .

But i can't stand again the port camping and car block , what Trion called "gameplay" are just glitch that totally ruin the gameplay.

I seriously hate when doing continents packs run. Things just too stupid.

But they just added Labor gain while offline!  I have so much labor now I'm really struggling to spend it all.   I play for free and have 2 accounts.  It's quite easy to do with the cheap cost of APEX in game now.

Well, actually they did do something about cart blocking, they added extra bridges at the choke points.  (For instance Dewstone Bridge).

Not sure what you mean by "port camping".

WTF are you talking about?  They added OFFLINE LABOR REGEN, that's huge!

Oh and I think the term you should have used is "dislike".  Just because someone criticizes a game does not mean they hate it.  The misuse of the word "hate" on this forum is atrocious.

Ok then explain why so many people jump in to rant at every ArcheAge article without knowing what they are talking about?

Seriously.  Gold spammers?  Hacks?  Land shortage?  Labor system?  NOBODY in game actually complains about that anymore, it's all fine now.

Literally NO ONE in game thinks these are problems any more, it's strictly forum warriors who missed the memo that's everything's been fixed for some time.

Why not just play for free like everyone on these forums?

It's incredibly easy to fund multiple accounts with in game gold and never have to worry about labor.   Twice as easy now that there's offline labor regen.

And no, you don't need to "break the bank" to compete in PVP, you don't need to pay jack squat.

  • But does the patch add class balance? I really need to know this, guys! Is Credit Card Warrior the best build still?

I hate to be that guy, but there's nothing more infuriating than finally finding THE MMO you want to play, after the themepark shipwreck of post-WOTLK, and having it taken away by evil shadowy men, armed with their calculators and bank accounts.

I've never been this pissed off at anything in the MMO industry since 1998. When Planes of Power killed my Druid's business. When Blizzard decided 5-man dungeons "weren't a thing anymore" with the justification that "no one does them" when they're the ones in control of what is worth doing. Nothing. AA would have been the best damn MMO, and WAS for a while. Then the CC spec'd Warriors came along, figured it out, and you stand NO CHANCE against them. It's not even a "slightly stronger" deal. Farm your ass out so you die in 10 seconds rather than 3. GG Korea.

So, I'm happy like a schoolgirl on prom night for you if you're still paying this. Yes, no "L", this wasn't a typo.

     Uh yeah, children, children everywhere.

What screwed the gaming industry is people that want a lot of money, people with more money than common sense (whales ahoy), loud people, market saturation... Developers making shit products ain't helping either. Anyway, it's a combination of many many things that would probably get you a ph.d. if you managed to identify and explain them all but they certainly can't be summarized as "children".

I personally played AA 1 month over Auroria, was in a guild with a castle even, and I still became Trino "hater", or rather, warning people away from shit products would be a better description. And while I do recognise Trino has limitations on what they can do, the things over which they did have control were managed so bad that I can't help but wonder how people can still defend them (but I guess that's another reason why gaming industry is where it is.

I prefer a subscription-only model, but that seems to be a thing of the past.

My take on "whales" is they are mostly kids with their parent's credit card, or fashionistas who only care about how they look.  I see them as "the people who let me subscribe for free with in-game gold".  I'm not going to let them prevent me from enjoying this game, which is  the only thing out there right now that really feels like a virtual world.
