Jeesh ... i want to love this game so much ... Why did they have to make the whole interface so "clunky" . Make those damn cards look more slick or smth .

They look as if they were made in paint. And their spawning animations look like, well, let's say that it needs way more work. I could get over that buuuuuuut it is not over , attack/ability animations ? I am here praying they will come, I want to see a unit attacking in a certain way and another one differently not a blue arch, I want to see spell animations, I want to see a damn fireball across the board. Otherwise i would just play a card game irl.

Aaaand now i will drop the bomb for which I will get burned at the stake : This game could learn a lot from the graphical style of HearthStone, Now, the graphics really make a game, I get that you want to sympathize with a game for the gameplay, but your eyes are not satisfied by gameplay believe me or not. Love it or hate it, the success of HS has almost nothing to do with WC universe (although it draws from blizz success) but those damn graphics just make you want to play, they make you love that damn golden legendary card that seems to be in the right next deck you open (for the record i never spent any money on HS, and i do not want to imply that).

After all i just hope they go for an overhaul. Only then will they eat through the competition. The gameplay is already really solid, just bring some damn eyecandy for us ok ?

I feel the exact opposite of you. To me hs is really bland and the graphics are 2nd rate.

I agree HS is very bland and way too high on rng. Also HS art and animations are cheap,it takes no effort at all to overlay those animations o ncards.

SOE a developer i have grown to hate actually made a tcg that blew the doors off of HS's effort with actual 3d figurines that looked really good. The problem is that Blizzard sells anything with their rabid fanbase and imo NONE of their games are well designed.I have nothing against Blizzard they have never done anything to piss me off,i just consider them a weak developer.

As for this game just those two cards alone remind me of what went wrong with MTG............OP cards ruin these games. You need a LOT of cards to make for a versatile game and to be able to build complete themed decks.Even HS after almost 2 years now is far away from a proper card base,it is more like the meta adds a 1-2 new cards and seldom reinforcing themes.

Also imo card games like any turn based game are influenced by who goes first and just too much rng.The simple is to say "well  these are card games",wrong there are ways around it to make for a more skillful game and not one that relies on who gets a Dr.Boom down first or some other op card.

Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

I agree with the part in red 100%.

This game has themes but the OP cards just ruin any chance of those types of decks getting any wins.

I really hope the developer sees that before it's too late b/c I'd luv for this game to succeed.

If Hearthstone was all RNG than the same players wouldn't be in legend every month or qualifying for the championships. There is an element of RNG to Hearthstone that you must play around and adapt to. If you find yourself a victim of RNG in all of your games perhaps there is something wrong with your playstyle and not the game itself.

    Just food for thought.

I actually like the art style. The UI is still cluncky, that's why it's still in beta.

No, my problem isn't with the graphics, it's with the game mechanics itself. After a few turns, your through your 7 card hand and your effectively top decking the rest of the game.

Please note that I've only finished the tutorial and the first trial to date.

I do like the completely different style of the different factions, in most CCGs it's only paying lipservice to different factions.

o.0 I always found all the animation in HS stupidly annoying with the biggest offender being rag, god that card was absurdly annoying.

which mtg format are you talking about? I play modern its pretty good for the most part but I am not a fan of standard it seems like a huge money sink.  You cant really blame hs for what it does its a game aimed at casuals that only gets alot of attention due to it being a blizzard game which is why esl runs tournys for it despite it being not remotely compettive .

Sounds like your problem is deck related. Theres a lot of decks that win via card advantage my most played deck is called TuPac it revovles around pact of pain to draw and pact of life to keep me alive. I win by drawing into 1 of 2 escalation cards which give me 2 diff methods of victory. First being decking out my opp by taking his cards or simply killing him the good old fashion way, by summoning a billion rhinos and/or using his own cards against him.

    Hi there.

I feel the exact way. Many things in the interface look good, but the cards are totally ugly.

I spent 50 hours for a job application with new cards and a new layout and was rejected ;(

If you like it, plz tell them that on facebook. Here's my 40-card-set for display:

Wrong. The top end players lose to other top end players a lot. Certain decks are better than others, and they do well when played right, which is why they can beat most people. The problem is, when you pit these decks against themselves, the winner is determined by RNG, not how good the player is. This is all very evident if you just copy a championship deck and learn to play it.
