Mortal Online: Continent of Sarducaa to Release Today

SBFordSBFord Former Associate EditorMember LegendaryPosts: 33,129

The Mortal Online site has been updated with a new post by CEO Henrik Nystrom that lets players know that the long-awaited continent of Sarducaa will be released today, Sunday, May 17th. Nystrom promises players that the team will be actively watching the deployment of today's update and that even more polish and content will be added over time subsequent to the release.

We've covered pretty much all the planned and designed locations and mobs we had for Sarducaa but there are a few we don't have in-game yet which you will get in some of our follow-up patches we have planned for after Sarducaa. We prefer to deploy smaller and frequent patches over one huge patch, but there was no such option with the continent build.

We are very proud to deliver the long awaited continent, the world is now growing to more than double the size and we can't wait to see you explore the new lands!

Read more on the Mortal Online site, including the final patch notes.

A new continent? :/ When I tried MO, the feeling I got was emptiness.. A lot of empty space with no players and now they make even more space?

MOs combat has always been a huge let down for me. Too clunky. I think they should focus a bit more on that instead.

If a tree falls in a forest and there is nobody around, does it still make a sound?

Still the only mmo that feels like a medieval UO with elder scrolls first person combat. yea the game has it's flaws and still has bugs, but it's come a long way. community is small but very dedicated. i'll be going back to see the new stuff, a lot of old players are also coming back. the land will bleed.....lol

Went to download. The patcher doesn't work, I'm not installing Desura. Things like this can't happen. If someone like me doesn't want to deal with extra crap in order to install a game then imagine someone who doesn't know computers..

Game only released just about 5 years ago (this June).  It's indie.  Give them a break.

The update, as usual, is buggy as heck.  They don't seem to have any QA staff at all.

They are Indie and only had 2 years to work on this patch.  Cut them a break.

The entertaining part of this dumpster fire has passed long ago. Now it's just a stinking fire. I don't wish them good luck or bad luck. Since in no way will this ever become a complete game no matter what I or anyone wishes. Dev interference in live game play and some of the worst quality control in recent history are only 2 of the many issues this game will always have.

Well I didn't have any problems getting it all down. You have to wait for the patcher to "kick in". Kids these days don't have any patience. I got it all down without any problems.

So I went to GOG to pre-install The witcher 3 for it's release, selected the GOG down-loader, nothing happened for about 20 mins (showering), came downstairs noticed it wasn't moving, rather than closing it down and hitting forums to complain..I restarted it, it's now about 50% done. Just saying....

Congrats! You've done one of the most obvious steps! Look, I'm highly experienced. I could have taken "enough" time to get the game downloaded and running, but that's not the point of my post. A players experience with a game starts with the installation. If that's not fluid , simple and straight forward then how could one expect the gaming experience to be. The "trouble" you had with witcher3 sounds like a gog issue. That's different.

  • MO is a very good sandbox with interesting features, however the combat is the big issue of the game, feel desynched and not responsive at all, and is a shame because if they fix it they will have a very solid game.

They should hire a skilled network engineer that know what to do and how to fix the imput lag issue that plague this game since the launch.

Game has only been launched for roughly 5 years.  They are indie.  Give them time.  You cannot expect perfection so soon.

I'm 40 and have not played this game in years but when I did and tried recently there was times it was fine, and others were I had issues fanboy has nothing to do with it, if your 36 maybe grow up and understand that some people may not have issues and calling them a fanboy makes you look immature.

Well to be fair the other poster took that extra step and assumed it was a "kid" and "kids" have no patience these days. Thought the response was warranted myself.
