[Preview] Rebel Galaxy: Yippee Ki Ay in Outer Space

When the world first heard about Double Damage Games founded by former Torchlight and Diablo series veterans Travis Baldree and Erich Schaefer, the safe bet was that they would be hard at work on another demon-infested universe straight out of the action RPG genre. All that can be said is "boy were we all wrong".

Real poor timing for this game. Which is typical for Torchlight devs.

Few years ago there was no good space games. But now we are on onset of Star Citizen, Elite, No man Sky ... each one giant in its own right

Makes this game insignificant for anyone except  Travis Baldtree fanboys

Same happened with Torchlight 2. When gaming community was thirsty for Diablo like games. Instead of launching Torchlight before Diablo 3 , they decided to invest in "polishing it"

It was good game and it sold lot of copies. But if it was launched before Diablo 3 it would sell multiple times more.

    Bad, bad timing.

Star Citizen is still year out, No Man's sky still has not shown much of what kind of game it's going to be, and not many people are happy with Elite's current state.  I think now is a good of time as any to try to get into the market of space games.

I agree. Looks interesting enough to merit peoples attention.

Got a key from a friend. This game is really fun. Easy to get into but there is decent depth so far. Mining, responding to destress signals, exploration is actually rewarding, lots to do outside of regular mission. I would compare it to the ship part of ac blackflag but in space. Pumped for this one's future!

Finally a single player RPG space game. And it can be modded and all for 20 bucks. Ive been watching all dev videos for this game and can't wait to play it. I just hope it comes out this summer. And the soundtrack is awesome. Ive been waiting for this since Freelancer. And its all done by two guys. If it has everything they say it will at launch it could be that sleeper hit game.

I'm really looking forward to this game, but its forum here on this website seems to be locked out.  No posts and no way to start a thread.  Would love to hear from those who alpha / beta tested it.

Its release date says 2015, so that doesn't leave much more time to wait.

Played: E&B, SWG, Eve, WoW, COH, WAR, POTBS, AOC, LOTRO, AUTO.A, AO, FE, TR, WWII, MWO, TSW, SWTOR, GW2, NWO, WoP, RUST, LIF, SOA, MORTAL, DFUW, AA, TF, PFO, ALBO, and many many others....
