The Albion Online team has posted a new video developer diary that details how important farming will be to all aspects of the game including housing, controlling territories, feeding soldiers or transporting goods. It's a fascinating look at how the need for food and other goods provided by farming will be integral to a player's success. Check it out!

Hmm, they say it's a safe activity for those not wanting to PvP all the time, but isn't the game full loot open PvP?
Which would pretty much reduce your chances of farming in peace to just about 0. Or are there safe zones of some kind?

It's true that the game is full loot PVP but you still have a flag you can turn on and off. Unflagged players can still be attacked but they gain a 40% buff if they do. Therefore, you'd have to hunt in a group in order to successfully kill anyone who doesn't have their PVP flag on.

Ah. That's definitely a nifty feature to add.
Although wouldn't the gear advantage of someone equipped to fight vs someone who's just working their lands be enough to negate that 40% buff?

From what I've seen so far a Tier 1 geared character can kill a mixed Tier 2 / Tier 3 geared player with the buff. The max tier AFAIK is 7.

I'm pretty sure that player islands do not allow other players to just invade you, i think you have to invite people. So you could just set up your farm on your player island. As for farming outside of your island, ya that might be a little tricky. Also carting the goods to the marketplace (unless you can set up a marketplace vendor on your island).
We understand that we will never be 100% safe, in fact we count on it. This is just to provide a break from PvP from time to time because it's alot of work.
I know what you're thinking... PvPing alot of work? Yes, learning the limitations of your character and learning the abilities of all your foes to maximize proficiency. Researching viable builds online and testing them through trial and error. Not to mention always being on alert and constantly mapping out an escape route just in case.... these are the actions of real PvPers! The ones who just create their characters and make for the starting zones to kill new players disgrace the name of PvP.
