The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt: The Beautiful World of Wild Hunt Shown in New Video

BillMurphyBillMurphy Former Managing EditorMember LegendaryPosts: 4,565

Had enough of the Witcher 3 yet? No? Neither have we! CD Projekt Red just released a new video to show off the game's gorgeous world... one fraught with danger and beauty for sure.

From the presser:

In the open world of Wild Hunt, you chart your own path to adventure. You play as a bounty hunter, a man of the road. You set your own goals and choose your own destinations. Go after the bounty on the head of a nasty monster pestering a village or help a scheming prince who needs a dirty job done -- no matter what style of epic questing you crave, The Witcher will provide it.

Try to be excellent to everyone you meet. You never know what someone else has seen or endured.

Game world is stunning to say the least.80% the way through the main quest so I backed off and started catching up on contracts, gwent, fist fighting, sailing, crafting, treasure hunting, monster killing..oh and most important the brothels. Not forgetting just downright exploring.

Yea I have been doing all the side quest stuff as I go. I think I have put about 40 hours into the game so far and am only just starting the main quest line stuff in Novigrad. I really like the play time with Ciri. Wish she had more story time. I like playing her char more then Geralt. Over all the game is great and well wroth the cost of it.

I haven't touched it yet because of Pillars of Eternity. I have heard nothing but good things though. This is the first I read about treasure hunting and that sounds fun! Also contracts, I like Bounty type things.

    Scenery looks incredible!

If there's a female playable character than buying this will be a done deal for my wife. She's been playing DA:O hard core and was interested in W3, but she's not keen on playing games as male characters. Ciri will likely be the selling point

Look amazing, but still nowhere i have found response if it is possible to move avatar by pressing both mouse buttons? Or one is doomed with WASD? If so, this would be sole reason not to buy. Besides I always hated WASD, injury to leftmost 2 fingers on left hand has added to this. Ok, somehow acceptable solution would be to use controller.

Game is pretty much unplayable with keyboard. With controller its okay but still very annoying because of the lag and inertia they gave the main character. There is a way to tweak it through .ini files but it never really gets 100% responsive and precise in combat like Batman for example.

You should just say you don't enjoy the style of movement. The game is absolutely playable with keyboard or controller.  I haven't noticed lag in controls and the inertia gives Geralt weight unlike the arcade style of Batman (and I do love the Batman games too). It's a different style of play, that's all.

And to daltanious, give the controller a try, many people say they prefer it to m/kb.

Geralt is still the main char and who the gameplay is centered around. Ciri jumps in for certain parts of the story, but if your wife doesn't like playing male characters, Ciri's gametime will not satisfy her.

As CD Projekt Red says W3 is the last game with Geralt as main char I'm quite sure the next Witcher game will have Ciri as main char. :)

    So long...

Just forgot: Witcher 3 is an incredibly good game.

the game is totally playable with KB/M and the combat is easier with KB/M and but the controls with KB/M is bad no denying that. it feels like driving a tank or a trunk when i am moving Geralt around not to mention the delays in control. you will get used to it, doesn't make it ok though.

I think I found a bug. You can kill cows for unlimited crowns.

This isn't a signature, you just think it is.

it's probably the famous cow exploit. there was another exploit with seashells although i didn't see the seashell one on PC version. then again if you want to use these tactics on PC you can easily use cheats.

I realized how limited Ciri's involvement was after I posted. Thank you for your reply. She may still try it but she is less excited as she was now knowing Ciri is a 'bit part' character.
