Greece will not be evicted unfortunately, but if the EU did it might bring in new customers as the rest of Europe would have more money as it wouldn't be wasted anymore for Greece.

Like I've said a couple times before, AV is what was wrong with DFO and that's still the case. Unless another company comes along and buys up AV or creates something comparable to DFO, that ship will stay sunken.

That, and the awful game design of DF1 that made most people leave within the first month of trying it.

And there goes the last MMORPG I'll ever play.

I played up until DF1 closed down

DF1 player base was well down before the announcement to close the doors. Why you ask? Because the core mechanics of the game were broken and thus the reason why DF2 was born.

Why would you bring back a half dead sibling knowing full well that it's family had all but abandoned it to die. You know they will only abandoned it again.

I believe the decision to improve DF2 further is the right move. It allows the small but talented team to focus on bringing the community ideas to fruition by building upon a better core and provide a better gaming experience.

Well, that's that then.  Take care, AV.

When your game fails then you do a re-boot and it fails even with your biggest fans then you need to take a step back and listen.

This attitude of, "we know better than the player", has given EA the bad reputation it deserves, it has made Microsoft the laughing stock of consoles with the disaster that was the Xbox One release.

I am shocked this game still makes the news, it's been declining for years and i am surprised the company still has money.

The original Darkfall was a horrible game and anyone saying different are crazy.  People who macro'd the heck out of their characters had a huge advantage and that was just the start of all it's flaws.  Why would any studio bring such a broken game back?  There was a real good reason to change it to start with.

mindnarrowed persons always live in the past..

they fixed the grind @ some point.. but then again it was too late for alot players who already gave up

Everyone will say the same conclusion, if you are a long time follower of darkfall

AV has always been the problem with the game.. if CCP had control of it they would have listend to the community and adjusted the game

Aventurine offers to license out classic darkfalls game code.

So, if I was a lottery winner i'd buy it instantly.

Maybe we should try and get a kickstarter going to buy the license as a collective

then when we have the rights

Rerelease it under GNU GPL version 3* making it opensource and available to everyone willing to work on it. The essence of this is that we create our own Darkfall.

As you can see i'm quite dedicated to playing this game (I haven't ever)

*If you don't know what this entails please visit http://www.etlegacy.com/ for an example.

    Thanks.

Pretty much this. The game needed a structural overhaul.

Even "reducing the grind" didn't solve all the problems that stem from it.
