I can't remember the last time I've played an MMO where I wasn't over leveled and overgeared for the whole fucking time.
Im always having a fun challenge with higher level trash mobs in the open world because i dont rush or grind dungeons for levels and gears. As a result, i always hit the next zone being underleveled by 1-4 levels. I find the exp rate in ESO quite nicely paced without exp potions and playing at my own pace. I like to find my own workarounds when possible.
I agree, i hit v14 and gold with half a zone to go which is not too bad, xp pots would push you too far ahead over time. If i was levelling an alt however and just wanted to do the main questlines then the pots would be really handy.
Well I went on my V8 the other day, and zones are empty, which is bad for a megaserver. Or maybe everyone is in Craglorn/Cyrodil, idk. So I can't even complete the entire zone 100% unless I ask for help from a guild or some other shady people...I am doing all the solo content and currently am clearing zones faster than my Vet level can keep up with.

There is an argument that they are good for alts but the flip side is that it can encourage devs to "limit" xp gains. May as well just allow instant max level alts for those with a max level character; either the play through is fun or its not.
And first it was 10%; now 50%; how soon until double xp pots hit the store?
The math on this: 5 of these cash shop potions grant you 5 hours of bonus xp (as if you played 5 hours more than you did, essentially)
They cost 1000 Crowns, which is worth $10.00
One potion is worth 200 crowns, which is worth $2.00
It costs $2.00 for an extra hour of xp. Worth it? Idk... not to me, it should be half that. That Or the sub option should grant 20% faster leveling.
This isn't bad for players, and it certainly reduces P2W, just not sure Zenimax is milking as much as they could.
People provisioning leveled get an extra 15 mins I believe, so 45 mins or so per pot. On top of that with 1 of each ingredient you will get 4 drinks.
I can't comment on how difficult it would be to craft or how often you would come by these potions, so to me, I would probably use the cash shop variety since I like to support the games I play. Still seems a bit too expensive, and the sub not as rewarding as it should be.

I honestly don't care what it's called, pay to xp, pay to win, pay to save time. This is the sort of thing a cash shop needs for an mmo that is f2p to thrive.
It's not a potion it's a drink, but that's mainly semantics.
But yes, I quite like the way it's done. It's hard enough to collect the materials and recipes that not everyone will have them and be able to drink them at their leisure. My friends and I won't be buying any, but we'll gather the ingredients as we come across them and mix up a couple to share around when we have enough, and we'll enjoy the bonus for the little while it lasts. I think that's what it's intended for, and we'll use them as such.
I agree with the OP, in terms of it's implementation it's done as well as probably can be expected. It's certainly not pay to 'win'. I wish people would actual think about what they type rather than just regurgitating the same diatribe over and over again. Anyone would think having an original thought came with it's own terminal illness.
But unfortunately, closed minds do not come with closed mouths.

I guess no game's leveling has been fun as people have been , exploiting, using leveling services etc... since the dawn of the genre. I can think of a lot of reasons for this, why can't you?

If I've done the content a few times with alts already, it can really be boring to do it anytime after that, especially with the exact same content. Which is probably why some games now offer faster leveling or instant leveling.

ESO is not even close to pay to win. ESO might be the only game that has a real Pay for convenience shop. theres absolute nothing in the store that gives a advantage over a other player.

Think through what you are saying. Why have people done this? Almost certainly to play "end game content" which they perceive to be "more fun" than the levelling. More extreme cases: to simply "have the best gear". So - as I said - why not simply dispense with the xp pots entirely and allow people to generate max level characters? Or even start with max level characters?
Just because some people haven't found the levelling process fun isn't a reason to say that it should be. If you go into a café and the food is puerile is the answer to buy the food and then buy some sprinkles to disguise the taste?
Its not surprising of course. Subscription games tend to add grind - to try and keep people in game and the xp pots are the sprinkles. Maybe people will buy the sprinkles - or they could simply move on and buy a new game.

Leveling should be fun; xp pots unnecessary.

Depend if you enjoy it and if you have a lot of times.
If you have kids, have 2 job and do other activities, trust me slow leveling like ESO is hard.
