SO yeah the forums are down, game appears to be totally abandoned (did they really pay money to buy this game only to let it rot?)
Anyway did some digging. If you want to see the capabilities of the development company who is working (or was working) on this game go to steam and check out "High on Racing" Its a game with mostly negative reviews and a peak of 4 concurrent players.
Its basically a playstation 2 caliber racing game.
These are the people who are working on this game.
Needless to say, even if they are working on earthrise, and its not dead, I really don't think much would have come from these guys and their work on the game.
Pretty safe to assume this one is officially dead in every way.
I mean the developers couldn't even make a low end racing game in a decent manner...think its safe to assume something as complex as a mmorpg wouldn't turn out much better.

Sad. I followed this game a while ago. It seemed to have a lot of potential. There was a video of a character walking through wreckage in a post-disaster environment. For the day (before advanced lighting became common) it looked pretty freaking awesome.
A shame to see all that work go to waste.
Wanna go halfs and we can buy it? I bet 10 bucks would get it if we promise them a small royalty. :-)
