Not an alpha nor a beta, you have to pay to play so it is in release.  Why doesn't MMORPG call these developers out on this?

    1. Pay2Win

Our payment model is exactly like EVE's despite the fact that instead of a subscription we have a premium model. And our Plex is called Gold ;)

    2. Combat

The combat is getting more and more skill based with each iteration. In the upcoming alpha we have added a lot of skill shots and new items and thus spells. Be aware that it is a huge difference if you are developing for a 5vs5 scenario like in a MOBA or for a 100+ vs 100+ scenario with Arrows flying around ;)

    Kind regards,

    Stefan

Well Stefan you guys claim to be looking back at the old ways and adding a new flavor, BS imo because they didn't take the piss charging people to beta test they choose from people who understood about testing and invited them for FREE! yes free how novel hey. You have just jumped on the let stuff the consumer just like the rest of the gaming industry and give them a little bit of something others wont get.

You may manage to dupe some to part with their money in advance but until you start taking the consumer seriously you companies will make a short sharp buck, however all your work will be a waste of time IMO as people who play your free to play model will look and see through what your up too and move on.

I'll not be bothering to join you people in any form because if I want to play a game I expect amazing game play and graphics to accompany it so putting up with Wow style looking game defeats why I built my computer in the first place.

No thanks and as for catering for multi platforms that's the nail in the coffin pure piss take...

Actually this is a typical EVE problem. We did design Albion Online to mititgate this problem. This is why guilds can own differet kind of territories. They are protected and are the place where you build up your village. Of course we added time slots when this territory can be attacked.

But even more important the fights around this territory are "5vs5 Dominaition matches" and under certain circumstances the defender also can get a bonus on his values. A lot of people where very sceptical regarding this matches but meanwhile they became very popular. Dont forget that we have other objectives in the game world where we encourage larger scale pvp with unlimited amount of players.

Another side note. If you want you can even hire mercenaries (ohter players) to defend your territory for you.

If you dont aim for the high tier resources you can also build up your crafting stations and buildings on your private islands. You can not craft the high tier stuff there but also very valuable items.

We actually have a lot of casual players enjoying these parts of the game.

    Thank you for your response.

The solo casual player will not always have 5 friends to play with at all times and this is something that should really be taken into consideration.

There is a sandbox game called Ark that released a PVE only server and within 1 day that server was full.

Maybe a flaggable pve server(like WoW pve servers) might be a good option for those people who aren't keen on being the victims of the inevitable zerg who prefer not to be involved with pvp altogether and would just like to enjoy other aspects of the game.

I purchased a founder pack when they were first made available but fear that the "pro guild pvpers" will drive away everyone else leaving the game empty which will hurt your bottom line.

Got a Founders pack back in Sep 2014, played in a test phase, got a refund.

    Havn't been back since.

I really like the premise and style of this game but i'm not going to pay to alpha test it.

I think if it were Released in a feature complete state i could see myself paying $50 for the box on a b2p model but paying $25-$100 for a free to play game now is just ridiculous.

@ all the people who claim the game p2w or know nothing about the founder packs:

The game is still in alpha stage, monday 29th we'll have summer alpha test which will last for about 4 weeks. After we'll have a few months break for devs to fix bugs and polish the gameplay before closed beta in autumn! Game release is planned in the beginning of 2016.

Legendary and epick founder packs give you access to summer alpha and closed beta later on, along with some in-game items like mounts which are lootable, premium currency used to buy vanity items and optional subscription. You may exchange premium currency with other players so everybody will be able to get the optional sub. Devs are changing the premium currency usage in order to make sure everybody feels ok with it. There won't be any p2w aspects.

Then just wait for release. This is an indi game and they need all the funding they can get to develop the game they want. The $50  gives you gold/premium at the value of your $50 bucks upon release. So if you can see yourself spending the money when the game is released then it's fine!

    Asbo:

We dont understand what you are ranting about other than you are angry about games which allow you to pay to get into the alpha/beta phases.  I recommend you not buy this game and deal with your anger issues.  Once you are properly medicated you might see at release that the game is quite good.  Crazy isnt it??

"It's alpha" means nothing anymore. - they are open for business and trading digital goods for money.

The problem is Ive been looking at playing this game for a very long time, (has it been years? i don't know) and in all probability it will never officially release because, why would they?

They can hide their inferior software behind "its alpha" indefinitely and still sell founders packs into the sunset.

I don't think its too much to ask to have a stable released product before i hand over any money. "Pay for what the product is, and not could be'.

So i continue to wait and voice my discontent for these practices because whats the future going to hold if consumers remain silent?
