If you have the option you should probably take it.
For the most part the UI will mimick Windows 7. The Kernel is upgraded so it will run batter. There were also the accessibility things I mentioned above. It comes with some more ease of use technology that is pretty lengthy to list and can be somewhat complicated to explain.
However, the safest bet is to wait 6 months after release for the breaking in period all Windows OS have had. Your free upgrade is available for a year.
If you're contended with your current OS, you should just stick on it. Still its unconfirmed whether windows 10 has any game optimization or etc. However, you'll be capable of installing DX12 wherein it has a big impact for future released games and computer component upgrades such as graphics card and processors. If you really want to change or upgrade to win10 just be sure that it is the final version, meaning those pilot versions of "new" OS would still have bug/glitches that might cause compatibility issues and others.
You gotta help keep the Microsoft ecosystem alive somewhere. They recently admitted defeat in the smart phone market.

Because it is free and optional. If you accept the free upgrade now then change your mind you are not obligated to download it or install the upgrade when it is made available. So it would behoove you to agree to it now before it is not a free upgrade.

Just curious to read your reasons why I should upgrade as PC gamer
Upgrade now? Only one reason i would say to do it now. You are getting a new computer including operating system.
Otherwise if you are set for a free upgrade, or even if you are not, just wait. There is no hurry we have a year, for the free upgrades, to let all the other peeps do the bug testing and optimizing. Let them get it all figured out and most likely put out a service pack that makes it all work better and with less headaches.
I take serious issue with the way they're going about the gathering of your personal info. It was obvious to me from the start that it wouldn't really ever be free. But I don't usually apply the same nonchalance with personal information as some others do.
Feel free to use my referral link for SW:TOR if you want to test out the game. You'll get some special unlocks!
Companies seem to have upgraded their drivers to "Windows 10" standard - probably given the size of the "push". It has certainly removed some annoyances for me.
It is also "slicker", less "in your face" and - as others have said - runs very lean.
Totally bug and hassle free across 5 machines at differing hardware standards now.

I was hoping for more information than what I saw here. I have the option to a free upgrade. Are there any reasons why I should not take it?
Keylogger, a program recording everythign you say, personal ad ID saving everything you search, automated updates, and if you have win7 then another con is hardware controlled by MS... just a few ones.

Because its free.
It makes some things a little easier and a little faster.
Its better integrated with your personal settings. So going from computer to computer is a pretty easy a task.
