I have no problem eating Honey Nut Spins®, the knock-off version of Honey Nut Cheerios®. You can pick them up at your local Walmart for at least 25 cents less than the real thing in most cases. But you will notice every few bites that some of the “Spins” are hard enough to break a tooth. They’re also smaller somehow, less puffed with air. And the flavor is good, just not great. There are times I wonder if that 25-cent savings is really worth it. Echo of Soul really isn’t a bad game, it’s just a very genric game. It’s like the Honey Nut Spins® of MMORPG’s. It’ll do but it is clearly the lesser quality experience.

What level did you get your character up to?
Fair review but maybe a point higher than I would have given it. My wife and I are in our mid-50s and sort of losing interest in making the cap. We rarely see anyone else in a zone and if we do, it's just one person. Official launch of the game was yesterday and the announcement didn't seem to make a splash anywhere.
Other things worth mentioning: The "global" chat doesn't seem to have an opt out. Cities and the first few starter zones are filled with gold spammers. Also, there are regular system broadcasts that say buying from gold sellers will get you a permanent ban. (but that seems to be the extent of the action they take against the gold spam broadcasts...) I haven't located any quick/easy way to report the spammers -- just an option to block. The block lists are character-specific so I'm frequently swapping from one character to another and blocking the same spammers.
Have you been in a guild? because when you are in a guild that isnt peacefull the whole world suddenly turns into one big pvp zone. and you can only atk people that are also hostile. so with that they have divided the pve and pvp players in same area pretty good i would say.
~ DarkRohan Wrath guild
One of many things I am wondering too.
+1
Hilarious use of the game's name to echo the feelings of most people about most copycat MMOs these days.
I have 3 max levels on EOS. A huntress, guardian and a rogue and was in a rank 7th guild in requiem. To me after 1 month of play I found it very boring. Its an okay game but theres better games out there. A few things I didnt like about this game.
1. Once you use a skill you're locked to that spot and can't move. A game where I can't shoot an arrow and move at the same but is a turnoff.
2. At level 60 you can't use lower level bandages and healing pots and they're expensive as hell so you have to do the daily to get some or make money to buy some. (most items vendor to npc for 1 silver and a bandage cost 6s i think and 1 healing pot cost 330s or so).
3. heavily Pay2win. you get 4 attempts at lvl 60 dungeons of each type, you have to buy tickets if you want more. Once you get an unidentified item you can appraise it for extra stats but most of the time you get crappy stats. Basically the advanced stats have to be bought from cs. Faster mounts cs, pets cs + have to buy duration times too. You could easily spend hundreds and not get anywhere.
4. Monsters in normal maps and instances don't drop money they drop items which sells for 1s. In lvl 60 solo instances they give you a small amount of silver per mob and sometimes a bandage or heal pot. Some of the items don't stack even tho they're supposed to. The bosses on the solo maps are decently hard so you end up having to chug pots to stay alive, especially squishy classes like the huntress. Forgot to mention there are no healer class in this game so its all on you to chug pots and scrolls to keep alive.
5. Atm classes are unbalanced in pvp. When I was playing there were 2 pvp battlefields. At 1-59 huntresses dominate and to a certain extent duelists. At 60 however a duelist can pretty much kill huntress in couple of hits. At 60 duelists berserkers and guardians shine.
6. eos uses 2 type of gear, pve and pvp and they can't be mixed so you have to do both sets to be able to play both.
There are others probs too but those things come to mind atm.
I would give it a 6/10 just for new content but will go down to a 5/10 post 60.
This is my thoughts are 1month of gaming I havn't reached the "end game" gear yet.
Going to try cabal 2 obt.
I would rate the game 7/10 overall.
However, with the budget they had to make this game it easily becomes 8.5/10. It's polished as hell, offers balanced PvP, and the artwork is pretty/stylish.
Questing and Story are what hold the game back in my opinion. But these aren't huge aspects of EoS to begin with.
Looking forward to: Crowfall / Lost Ark / Black Desert Mobile

7/10 from me.
If the game was not gender locked, had better class balance at max level ( Rouge too OP ) and was full open world with some type of territory control like castle sieges it would have been much better. EOS was great for the 2 months I played which I got a Level 60 Stormguard and a Level 60 Fire Mage.
