People complained about customer service, and some left because it gets kind of boring after you get high in skills. There are other reasons too that people left.
I have played for a couple of months, but then left. My best character was on the Shadowfire galaxy. I was a creature handler, and a pistoleer.
Well I just cancelled my subscription today. I wouldn't say the game sucks, but give it about 2-3 months and you'll more than likely be bored with it. Once you've maxed out your profession there really is nothing left to do. Ya, change your profesion if you want, but I just got bored to fast doing the same thing I did 3 months to get where i'm at, just now doing it unarmed rather than a pistol.
Missions are. boring and repetative. The theme parks are well....really repetative and boring. Once you get over tha awe that your are actually on a Star War's planet you'll realize that it's a waste to play the game any longer than 3 months. Plus i've been realizing that the towns population has been dropping quite quickly. You have to BEG people to go on hunts. Anchorhead/Bestine use to be bustling....now it seems to be dwindling fast. And with the new update, it seems SOE has gone from worst to worstest :P I don't know, maybe when the flight expansions come out and the game becomes more stable I might give it another shot. Because the mounts, player cities, and jedi missions (profession changes to the max) have not been enough to keep me interested.
Good luck to everyone that continues to play this game, maybe see some of you around in the future....NOW BRING ON HORIZONS!
I have never been more disappointed than I was after playing this trainwreck for 3 months.
Pokemon sums it all up.
(Useful) droids are nowhere in sight.
Smugglers don't smuggle anything. They're just drug-dealers (and alot of the drugs are bugged)
The Galactic Civil Was is a complete joke. PvP is a bigger joke.
The system for becoming a Jedi (Holocrons) is an outright slap in the face from what they described as a 'unique system' for unlocking your Force Sensitive Character Slot.
If you're a crafter, be prepared to kiss your actual life goodbye. Crafting in SWG is a full-time job, not a game.
The sheer amount of bugs ..... My God, the bugs....
Tipping was broken a couple weeks ago, the DEV's never bothered to warn anyone. Tens of millions of credits just went poof!
I could go on, but I just get depressed again.
I was looking forward to this game for so long.....
I'll tell ya what, gimme your address, and I'll mail you my copy of SWG. This game truly sucks!

I bought the game about 3 days after release and my life came to a complete stop for about 2 weeks. The initial immersion into the Star Wars universe is overwhelming to say the least. As mentioned above crafting is full time job where you hope you can make enough off of what you craft by selling it on the bazaar to keep your power and raw material harvestors running to provide the next day's crafting material. Crafting was what got me into the game. It seems every online game I've played has started off with me getting into crafting first and then the rest of the game later. I was lucky enough to start playing at a time where I was able to make money off the armor I crafted (I was an Armorsmith, as opposed to Droid Engineer, Architect or Chef as a few other examples) and stay ahead of the masses who came behind me and were virtually giving away their products. Before I knew it I had 2 million credits (to put this into perspective you get maybe 1400 credits for a pair of "destroy" missions that take about a half hour --time to run to targets and time to get back to city for next mission-- to run if you are more of the fighter type) in about a month. I had to buy nothing since I could trade armor for everything, non-crafters had to spend their money constantly on better gear. That got boring REAL quick so I decided to switch to the Creature Handler profession, which is a lot of fun. Unfortunately, you just run into the SAME mobs to fight again...and again....and again. No "new areas" to explore. Once you peak in a profession there really is nothing to do. Everyone has access to the best gear via crafters, there are RARELY any dropped loot items (if ever) that are better than what you can craft so you really have nothing to gain by hunting unique mobs except for the joy of killing.
If you are a fighter type once you max out, say Pistoleer or Unarmed or Bounty Hunter, what more is left? It's like having a level cap although there are no "levels" you just gain access to new skills in your profession as you use your profession's skill set until you max out that profession. Then you have to untrain everything if you want to try another profession out.
I did that for 3 months and gave it up around the first of September. For the first month and a half I truly could not get home fast enough from work to play for a few hours. It was really addictive. But, much earlier than I expected to happen, you get to a point where you've done it all and seen it all. There is nothing left. I'm sure they've added new stuff since I left, but come on... Player mounts? Wow, now I can get somewhere even FASTER to do the same boring thing: kill, loot, rinse...repeat. Player cities? Ummm, ok, now my house is beside another guy in my clan. Wow. We have a mayor. Wow. I now have to pay taxes for the privilege of living beside my buddy. Wow. We can build our own spaceport! Yippee! Once its completed, what then?
There really isn't enough to keep someone in game that long in my opinion. On the other hand, if you don't mind dishing out $40 (or whatever its going for now) for something that will last you 2-3 months before you get bored then I highly recommend it (and I say that without sarcasm, although portions of the last paragraph did in fact include sarcasm).
I went back to AC2 and I'm having a ball again (been playing since March except for my 3 month hiatus with SWG) waiting for WoW to come out.

Sad....but so true Motorhead.
Was just like going to work.....at a really boring job.
