Just some of my thoughts on the NGE/CU from a recent stream, I felt like alot of you here would find it interesting.

Obama actually said in a speech to a crowd  that governments must rule people cause people are to dumb to rule themselves.

there is a class of scum in the world that think they are the master race, looks like SOE are also controlled by them.

What you're talking about were NGE changes.  CU didn't do anything as far as reducing the number of professions. It added a character level to everyone and everything, as well as adjusting the difficulty of some creatures & NPCs as well as a combat profession 're-balance'.

Yeah before that part of the video I clarified that I would be using them interchangably but explained the difference between them.

Oddly enough the CO actually did improve some areas of the game, specifically Armor, but yeah the NGE was the ultimate downfall for the game in making it more "WoW-like".

The Combat Upgrade imposed levels on characters which in turn forced players to be masters in two combat professions if they wanted to be viable in combat (level 80). There was no more mixing and matching of skill lines across various professions to play the way you wanted to play.

The CU ran off many players at first, but as time passed and the ToOW expansion was announced, many players did return, only to be slapped with the NGE two weeks after the expansion launched. $OE's path to the dark side was complete - - SWG was mortally wounded and never recovered. $OE also had to cough up many refunds for the "bait & switch" expansion. In the end, $OE is no more, but that should be no surprise to anyone given $OE's history.
