To be honest, a new game I cannot get into cartoony graphics anymore for an mmorpg unless its really unique it did not take me long to not like rift for this very reason, maybe wow made me dislike cartoony mmorpgs forever. I however play cartoony single player games with no issues but then again rift does look fairly similar to wow.

To win me back, Blizz would have to do a few things:

    - Stop making stupid content that isolates players (Garrisons), I have no interest in MMO's that try to play like a single player game. Get back to open world content.

    - Deeper character customization. The current talent system lacks depth. It's bland. I need more.

    - Lot's of endgame content other than raiding. I've never been a huge fan of raiding. I don't find it very fun.

Exactly this, there are many games I can pull out the barrel before I'd find myself scratching around for WOW.

For me it would be to get rid of quests.  I despise scripted content, I can get that from watching TV.  When I play a MMO I want emergent content so it's different depending on when I play and who else is playing.

Of course then they'd have to lose the loony toons graphics.

A complete revamp of skill system, combat, graphics, along with the addition of a Wpvp system.

Lol at people that give reasons they would "return" but only if the game is fundamentally different.

    3. Make leveling more interesting by increasing the challenge level, bring back class and group quests
    4. Make classes distinct again the way they used to be, quit trying to make them all the same
    5. Make dungeons interesting again (check original BRD, Dire Maul, Stratholme etc. if you need to remember how)
    6. Last but not least quit seeing WoW as a milk cow.

    I would agree with this.

Remove LFR and LFD.  If people cannot make a group with a FFXIV Party Finder style tool they dont belong playing MMOs.

If server pop is too fucking low close it down and let the people transfer to a server of their choosing.  Cross Realm BS is why the community is worse than a turd.

Instances were you need to CC again and not AOE tank exactly like Vanilla WOW and BC and stop listing to the people on the forum that might have run 30 instances that want 15 minute instances JUST IN CASE they want to run an instance.  How is it I ran over 400+ instances in 4 years of WOW.  No Joke I did and worked 12+ hours a day and was a full time student.  How did I manage?  I dont know its called my cell phone had a list of well over 50 people I would call or text to see if anyone can play on Friday night at 9pm I need to do Heroic SL.  Thats how I got groups and shit done I dont expect a dungeon every time I log in if I do I make dam sure I have friends to do it with

Make Raids like Kara again, Groups we need CC in, We need classes that are different not the same and we need to not have 5 druids in a 10 man group.

Bring back buffs from different classes and the trees because Players need classes that are different not exactly the same.

O and rotations can go right out the window.  IF its a 3 attack rotation fine but things like timing Doom on Curator so that when Doom goes off its double the damage in his double damage phase, GOOD.  Thats Skill not looking up on the internet what is your best rotation and how to keep it going for 5 minutes. Having to think for yourself for a change.

Anything Pre-WOTLK good accept have 2 Raid Modes,  Normal which is 10 man and Nightmare which is 20 man and old school Naxx 1.0 like.  No LFR, No way to get Raid gear outside of raiding.  If you want raid gear RAID.  If you dont get Heroic gear like they had in TBC Heroics.  If you dont want to step up to the plate.  Tough shit Welfare WOW is doing how well?  Yea it started in WOTLK and look the game has gone to the pile.

Of course none of this will ever happen.  Why?  Just like the WOW panel said during the last blizzcon is THIS.  "It's fun for the casual player who does not play but 1 hour a week to get Epics.  We need to help them and make them feel welcome"  Well guess what?  Every game that focuses on the CASUAL I AM SPECIAL PLAYER WHO SHOULD BE GIVEN EVERYTHING has gone to the pile and gone F2P because lack of content.  In FFXIV you dont get Raid gear without raiding Period you dont.  You can get better gear from Instances and sometimes over the course of the game Crafting gear.  You want the best gear, DO THE BEST CONTENT.  We are not going to hand it to you.  If you want to play with your houses and craft, FINE you dont need the best gear.  Step up or get out.

AND YES this is all coming from a person who works 50+ hours a week, has a wife, 3 kids, bills to pay.  How do I manage it?  Guess what I dont aim for world first or anything, I am happy being middle of the pack and having a good time with friends.  Yes FRIENDS that I call and Text about shit even though we met over a Game.  Thats how I met my Wife who I married.  I dont act like MMORPGs are just like Playing solitaire or checkers.  MMORPGs must be a NICHE market again to make money and have people like me, that are HOBBYIST and spend 5 to 15 hours a week play.  Just like if I was again playing hockey again or bowling.  It's a HOBBY not a pick up game.

While Josko should clearly stick with ESO, you have to remember that WOW has changed hugely over its lifespan. WOW vanilla/ TBC is a fundamentally different game to the latest iteration.

I do not think I will be returning to WoW this time around, for the exp pack. I've played on and off for 10 years. I was so happy about the Garrisons but ended up not caring for it. I like housing like UO, EQ2, or even Dark Age Of Camelot.  I do like the questing, pvp, and crafting in WoW. Though it's not enough to get me to come back.

As i already repeated many times, I had 22 maxed out alts, 11 horde and 11 alliance before Wod was released. With any previous expansion I have been completely sucked into game for at least half year after release. And have been returning later for 2 to 4 months until new expansion. Then cycle repeat. With WOD I had a lot of fun, enjoyed every moment into game ... but lost interest to log in after barely 1 month and already 4 maxed out alts. Usually I had 10 alts in 6 months. Meaning all this there are not so many quests as before, just leveling is much faster, world feels smaller then any1 of previous expansions, ... and garrisons as much as they are at first glance fun, they were not what players were after - HOUSING. Garrisons are all but housing. And all felt as BC2.  Still .... I'm not sure what is so wrong with WOD that I have lost interest after barely 1 month. I'm however sure has nothing to do with "old game", etc. Surely have contributed to my bad mood versus Blizzard that disgusting abomination of updated graphic models. We all wanted more details on our alts not having after impression we are in another game.

I will for sure buy immediately new expansion and play and just hope they are at par with all expansions but WOD.

Takes New engine and new WoW.

current WoW is so bad its cant be saved. game is outdated and raiding is outdated. well wow did good 10 year least.

    Forced at gunpoint would work.

Also threatened with waterboarding sounds convincing enough.

Guess a pretty woman could get me do it too.

If you starve me and the only way to get food is playing WoW.

    Thats about all.

Mind, I never actually played WoW in the first place. So it wouldnt be a "return".

I hated its comic graphics and ever since it has been mainstreamed to hell anyway and I'd have to spent hundreds of euros just to get all the addons first.

After the pathetic showing of WoD and the obvious 'wallet now morons' mentality it has been (charging more and giving cash shop mounts in exchange for pathetically less content and poor content), to even make me THINK about going back to play.

+Next Expansion is free (Or at least MUCH Cheaper): I refuse to pay for another expansion considering I spent so much on one that was pitifully lacking. $50 + $15 a month for practically nothing I feel ripped off.

+Good reviews 2-3 months after launch: I'm not going to be sucked in like they did with WoD putting a great leveling experience and then being screwed over after it. They basically suckered everyone in then laughed when you bought into what they were peddling. I have no doubt they will try and glorify the early experience and WoD has taught me to not trust them at all. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.

+No more 4 Difficulties for one raid:  LFR should be ditched, perhaps changed to be much like FF14's crystal tower to give casuals a place to go for some catch up while being a unique experience. Having the same raid over and over ruins my desire to actually progress. Its no where near as exciting to go through a place in a harder difficulty when its the same fight just harder. I can see 2 difficulties (even if I still think its a 'bleh') but having it repeated so many times its just not fun. After the 1st time beating a boss, its no where near as satisfying when you go through to beat him against on a harder mode.

+An apology: No... it better not be half assed. I expect  one that is geniune and at least can have them admit they were scum bags to their customers. Partially it could link with having a free/cheap expansion but I want to see some apology. Honestly it will be hard fro me to believe them after their pre-3.2 interview trying to bring up issues and only showing they were BSing having those various issues continue on despite trying to say otherwise.

F2P with sub option, monthly allowance for use in cash shop.  Then, facets from other MMOs like:

    True housing from EQ2.

Guild leveling system and guild halls like EQ2

    Collectible system like EQ2

More classes (like Bard or Illusionist/Coercer) and more variety in said classes which leads into:

AA (alternate advancement) system like EQ2, Rift, AoC

    Open world dungeons

    Contested dungeons

More storylines involving all races not just humans and orcs

More of Azeroth or completely brand new worlds accessed via Outland from BC

More races, lets go back to unique racials again

Revert the stupid talent system or use the above mentioned AA to make classes unique

Bring back roles to a group, a la CC, buffing, debuffing, support classes etc.

Add more profession based stuff so that it's fun and unique, similar to EQ2's.  Every crafting profession in that game makes a difference and is fun to persue.  Not so much in WoW if at all.

Less pure focus on Raids and more focus on entire game, not just upper tier.(EQ2 balances this very nicely)

I'd only ever join if they deleted the corny lore and graphics and rebuilt it; World of Warhammer.

    But I'm goofy that way.

Hmm for me I'd come back if they made it skill based and possible to learn all the skills, added an AA system, EQ2 type housing at a minimum with no item limit, flight possible from level 1 and built it into game mechanics so quests, discovery, mobs... all done with flight in mind.

    Yep that would be fun.

Just because you don't like it doesn't mean it is bad.

    That's a strange comment.

I dislike MMORPG PVP.  As a result, I never participate in MMORPG PVP.  As a result, the removal of MMORPG PVP wouldn't matter to me at all.

So it's strange that you don't just opt out of that completely optional feature, if that's the only thing stopping you.

Nothing is going to bring me back before the final content update, and Blizzard announcing it going F2P. They'll never being back an actual talent system, classes that aren't mirrored or homogenised to the point of no difference. Bring back some depth to the game.

Why would you want to play a game where 66% of the specs were useless, itemization was awful, and rotation mechanics and boss mechanics were still in their infancy?

Boost to 100 so I can skip WoD entirely without losing anything on garrisons.
