Whatever new things Blizzard adds to the game, they always manage to make it feel as a useless grind. So it may be fun and shiny for the first few weeks, then you start asking the same questions over and over again...why am I doing this, what's the point?

The life has been sucked out of the game a long time ago.

I wish they'll reverse some of that with the new expansion, but I've grown to be skeptic towards WoW's expansions and additions. We'll see

and MM will be the bow spec.

One of the concept screens for artifact weapons had a rifle so maybe MM is the gun spec.

But the replenishment flow isnt strong enough if the subs keep plummeting. And delaying the announcement would have been devastating this whole quarter.

Shareholders and stocks look nervous. SC2 new expansion (wont call it a new game ever) is not raising to much expectation. I to think that they made this announcement early due to all this.

Basically is like having your monthly wages reduced a 10-20% from quarter to quarter. Thats the foundation of your economy. Puntual income produced by games and expansions at launch (Diablo, SC2, etc)  help but after a decade of constant income flow I fear they gave it for granted and now they start to rush things.

All the way this. I was pointing this out loud since Icecrown Citadel patch, which was going live waaaaaaaayyyyyy tooooo long. Blizzard said they will never let a single patch/raid stay that long ever and as they claimed they learned their lesson.

Then the Siege of Orgrimmar came out .. and low quality patches between (revamped troll dungeons etc.). They did literally nothing to fill the missing content. Nothing.

It was really not hard to predict the current drop to 5.5 mln active subs. And as long as the game stays in the current state the population will drop to 4-4.5 mln till the end of this year. It's 3 times less income than from subs peak in WoTLK.

Truth is they are leeching wow subs to pay in advance for over watch and friends, wow players will take any shit because it has millions of subs so it must be amazing.

    rpg/mmorg history: Dun Darach>Bloodwych>Bards Tale 1-3>Eye of the beholder > Might and Magic 2,3,5 > FFVII> Baldur's Gate 1, 2 > Planescape Torment >Morrowind > WOW > oblivion > LOTR > Guild Wars (1900hrs elementalist) Vanguard. > GW2(1000 elementalist), Wildstar

Now playing GW2, AOW 3, ESO, LOTR, Elite D

I'm a hunter. I've played a hunter since before hunters had pets (and yes they were originally released without one for a short duration most people don't remember that.) WoW was the introduction into the game and the world of MMOs as a genre. And while I've had a blast playing it for many a year, I have to say I will NOT be buying it this time and here's why.

Someone over there at Blizzard decided they would troll the hunter community as hard as they possibly could with this expansion. For years now Hunters especially BM hunters have wanted a Melee option because of the lore behind another melee hunter and a tank spec because our ability to easily tank 4 mans in a 5 man dungeon previously in another expansion without any extra coding or programming. We asked for it and we never got it, it was poopooed by the higher ups every time anyone mentioned it.

They even had the programming in the game that would automatically switch between melee and ranged whenever a certain distance from the target would be reached. So when I say they could have easily made this class another tank It's a no brainer. To add another hunter style class to the game just to give the expansion meaning and to ignore a broken class (broken by poor design choices by none other than Ghostcrawler that's never going to be fixed because they are too lazy to correct the inherent problems) is just amazing.

And they want me to come back to the game after such an insult? Really? Why should I return? You're not giving me any incentive at all. The three specs for hunter are basically cookie cutter, there is nothing inherently different between the three. They even have the same shot layouts, and nothing is special about beastmaster that actually makes a difference in the world anymore. Hell even the specs on pets are the exact same, it doesn't matter which pet spec you take into PVP for example much less dungeons.

And don't get me started on removing food that pets can eat to get their own buffs going.

So my point is until they take the hunter class more seriously and sit down to fix it I won't be coming back and I encourage all other hunters out there especially BM hunters to do the same. Don't waste your time or money.

See this is someone who didn't watch the release video... Survival Hunters are becoming a melee hunter. They are getting an artifact called The Eagles Spear... a polearm.

Survival will be melee, BM will be the pet/bow hybrid, and MM will be the bow spec.

This is why he see's it as trolling, survival are given a polearm, but what's the purpose of it with the current play style of hunters?

Something we don't know yet, is what stats the artifact will bring. Hopefully it will allow Survival hunters to play melee without feeling gimped.

Well I like the idea of the PVP talents. I have been wanting them to add a separation between pvp and pve since vanilla. Now when they need to balance for pvp they can use those talents and not have to worry about Pve/Pvp balance issues.

As for the lore and the content itself, looks alright. I always have fun leveling up in wow xpacs. As far as Garrison goes I hated it and pretty much scared me off WOD. Hopefully the Order crap is better. I wish they would just drop that concept though.

And just to touch on Wow vs ESO. It's hard to compare them really, ESO doesn't play like a typical mmo. It feels more like an online single player game. With optional multiplayer activities.

They need to shift more attention to their other games. We need more content for Diablo and Starcraft. Also a Warcraft 4 rts will be the best thing ever. There isn't a single game which would excite me more than wc4.

Mission in life: Vanquish all MMORPG.com trolls - especially TESO, WOW and GW2 trolls.

Only a 10yrs old would post such nonsense. WoW was never and will never be of the quality of ESO.

Hell every MMORPG that released after 2012 was done of a much higher quality than WoW's BC/WOTLK era.

Yes it was a great MMO for it's time, however right now it's just garbage.

Comparing it with ESO is like comparing Arena to Morrowind and other TES titles that followed.

    Quit being a snob.

Have you actually just looked around WoW? It has plenty of quality and the gfx are actually very good... I'm hard pressed a lot of times to tell the dif between a WoW screen shot and a Wildstar screen shot. Yes ESO is a quality game too, but its not black and white as there can be many quality games existing at the same time ;)

Oh, and quit being a snob.

I have played WoW for many years. It has been a fun ride for most of the way. With that said, I have not enjoyed all the myriad of changes. It seems like they love change for changes sake. The community has changed in many a way also with all the trolling and haters. I loved WoW, but I can't play this game any longer because it makes me sick.

Talents and specializations have to be redone every x-pack. Abilities and spells are always shifting around or taken out. Some changes have been for the better, but a lot of them have dumbed the game down too far. Starting characters have no challenges to play against NPC's/mobs. They have made it so easy it is a bore starting out. The health bar hardly moves and mana is never lowered at lower levels. It's like they are giving it away to get leveled.

So to say that WoW is dead is not true. I'm sure it will go on for many more x-packs. But I can't play it anymore because it is too easy to fly too cap, the community isn't the same as back in the day, and I'm sick of paying 14.99 a month. Why can't they lower the cost to play downward a bit. GW2 is B2P , even ESO. I just think that Blizz has taken enough money from everyone.

I don't think I'm going to do the "Legion" thang. I'd rather be out cutting the grass.

This is the wildest assumption that I've seen in these parts.

So wild that a true hunter would hunt it down, kill it and mount it above their fireplace as a trophy.

Not at all. They have been producing wonderful expansions, great ideas, great worlds, great (and hated) changes .... actually with Wod only there was more miss then hit. I have adapted to any change before and always had full set of alts. Since Wod it could be I will stick with 4-5 maxed out alliance and 1 horde.
