    Neocron
I think those of us who played Neocron are extremely few and far between.  But yeh it was a fun game.
    Yee Neocron was amazing.
    Is it still running ?
And, is it an mmorpg? I had never heard of it.
Cool, it seems to be still up xD

I think ill reinstall it ^^

    Tsunami Syndicate PE here.

That's crazy.  I don't think I could do it again just because I'm a borderline graphic whore.  But man the PVP in that game was fast, frantic, and not for the weak at heart.  Some people thump their chest and say they played UO or DAOC.  I thump mine proudly and say I played Neocron (and the first PlanetSide) lol .  Plus the Fallout/Deus Ex setting was awesome.

UO 97, but its best years were 98-99 IMO. I loved that game until 2003, and I just couldn't take the bullshit any more.

The feeling of gaining skill points, in the wee hours of the night, of saving for a house... finally getting a house out in the open world, the constant threat of danger from murderers if you were in Felucca. I just can't explain it. It nearly brings a tear to my eye. I would do anything to go back in time to the summer of 98 and relive those glorious school-free months while sipping coffee and diet sodas in the middle of the night and going on adventures.

Best mmo I played would be FFXI.

XI simply had a dept and longevity to it that is almost unmatched in the world of mmos, especially compared to the crap released in todays markets. Put over 25,000hrs into that game. If they did not decide to negate 95% of the game in 1 mini-patch and make a game with over 150hrs of a week of progression content to play down to 10-15hrs with gear handouts I would of had probably 12k + hrs of gameplay with guild progression.

The battle system was slow, there was almost no solo content, and the fights lacked the fancy mechanics but there was just so much to do in the game that was actually valid, still angers me that SE completely ignored 100% of the design of XI in XIV. (not counting character/mob models). GOGO making another 100% pure WoW clone mmo... exactly what the market needed.

Archeage in Alpha shown alot of promise too... Again this game was killed off by the developers poor decisions. Current version is a shadow of its former self, deserves to die in my opinion. Nothing but a cash grab.

WoW was ok in Vanilla and BC, not great but passable in my book, got dumbed down to a stupid level. Now WoW is a joke compared to what it use to be. (Then again I am not a fan of linear Themepark mmos, Despise the core design). Still the king of casual themepark mmos though cannot be debated really.

EQ1 was good, but XI released and it was everquest but better in almost everyway.

I feel you.  Teleport on a hotkey for when you get attacked by a couple of naked mages in a cave or having the word GUARDS on another hot key for when you used the bank.  It was one of the only games where I got that "pins and needles" feeling when I wanted it.

Warhammer: Age of Reckoning. I hate PVP with a passion but in WAR it was a blast. I had so much fun in PVP that I never touched much of the PVE content. Someone needs to pick up the rights to the game and relaunch it.  =)
I am yet to meet anyone who has done much of PvE content in WAR.

I certainly didn't - did PvP exclusively the entire time - what a waste of dev resources putting in PvE content in that game lol.

I did a lot of the PvE that Warhammer had to offer.

I brought most of my guild over from LotRO to WAR for the PvP, but we were/are the sort of guild that enjoys most sorts of activities. There was some interesting PvE content in WAR, I particularly enjoyed a lot of the open dungeons in the game, such as Mount Gunbad. Was fun to get the guild together and just experience some of the interesting creatures from the Warhammer universe.

But, combat mechanics in WAR were not meant for PvE and the loot system at endgame was atrocious. I still enjoyed seeing the endgame dungeons, the Lost Vale was still an interestingly designed place (was refreshing to have a dungeon outside and in daylight), but PvP was still where it was at.

As to the OP, started playing MMOs in 2003 with SWG. Main MMOs have been SWG, LotRO, WAR and SW:TOR (I'm a sucker for big IPs).

Favourite MMO is hard, probably a tie between SWG and LotRO. I loved exploring the worlds in SWG, loved the group focus, loved the class flexibility but also just loved getting together with the guild, putting on our matching composite armour then heading out for fun, whether it be assaulting an imperial guild's base, raiding the geonosian labs or just running around for a bit of pvp fun.

LotRO, on the other hand, had the best PvE and raiding experience for me. The class design / combat mechanics of vanilla just kicks ass over all other MMOs I've played. TTK was long, the support classes made pve far more interesting, plus it had horizontal gear progression at endgame which made raiding far more inclusive.

I did really enjoy the pvp in WAR, but only when I was in an organised group. In an organised guild group it was great, be it open world or instanced. However, if you were solo, it sucked. TTK was really short so you just got annihilated solo, plus class balance was terrible. I stuck with the game 6 months but reached a point where unless I had friends to pvp with, there really wasn't much you could do in game.
Currently Playing: WAR RoR - Spitt rr7X Black Orc | Scrotling rr6X Squig Herder | Scabrous rr4X Shaman

    SWG Pre NGE.

The CU was bad, but it still kept the sandbox systems in the game.

There's no other MMO besides UO which is my second favorite MMO that you didn't even have to be a combat class if you didn't want to and you were needed.  It was such an awesome game, if nothing else the community still can't be beat.

I spent half my time in WAR between PvE and PvP, so I took part in both quite a bit.. But, to be honest, the PvP regions were the best part of the game.. Definitely some fun times..

I don't know what MMO was the 'best' for me, but I do know what ones I had the most fun in.

As far as PvP goes, WAR. Hands down the absolute most fun I've had doing PvP in any game ever. Probably the single biggest missed MMO opportunity ever, IMHO. But damn, it was fun while it lasted.

I think as far as PvE, I'd have to say the most fun I've had would be playing Rift. I played the hell out of Rift from launch to about half-way through SL. I still log in every now and then, and I've been contemplating picking up Nightmare Tide and going through all that content.

Currently getting into Trove and Defiance and having a good time.

What year did you start playing MMORPGs? Why was this game the best for you? If you're not playing it now, why did you leave it?

I liked different MMOs for differnt reasons, so that's hard to answer. However, the one that seemed to draw me in the most was UO. I enjoyed some of the most diverse PVE, all types of PVP (FFA was my favorite as I really enjoyed the role of anti-PK), and some of the most memorable roleplaying I've had and seen in MMOs. In my time there, I also joined Origin's volunteer content team and got to experience a lot of the work and processes in the background that make the game tick.  I've never had as many accounts (5-7) as I had in UO in any other MMO.

Why am I not playing it now? I played it for eight years. Reached a point where I had done everything that I wanted to in UO. Since others were moving on, it seemed time to move on myself.

Damn you. Now I want to play UO.

Swg w/ jtl.... One friday night i invited all my friends over. Right before they arrived i finally got a group to kill the corellian corvette for the final pilot mission. Told my friends to just sit in the living room and watch TV till I'm done, I need that kill.

Asheron's Call was my first back in 99 but Dark Age of Camelot was my favorite.
