BG1 and BG2 are two of my all time favorite games so when I play a game that looks like them but has completely different rules, it throws me off quite a bit. I cringe every single time I add a point of Might to a Mage so his spells will do more damage. My left eye twitches every time I add a point of Intellect to my Barbarian to raise his Carnage AoE damage. It's just unnatural.
Also, I don't like the weapons in the game. The Arquebus, Estoc, Stiletto and Maces are clearly the best weapons in the game because they have a Damage Reduction bonus. So if I want to be a longbow wielding ranger, then I won't be able to damage 75% of the creatures in the world. If I want to give my Barbarian a giant two handed sword, then I'll have to live with knowing that the Estoc would raise his damage significantly.
There are several niggling things like this which serve as constant reminders that I'm not in the AD&D ruleset anymore, and call me old fashioned, but no sir, I don't like it.
