WoW is still the "best" MMO released.

This is a game I quit on and off. This last expansion was garbage and they need Legion to be good, they really do.
But with how easy it is to get hype and funding for a MMO nowadays, there's no reason WoW should be the best MMORPG out right now. That is extremely sad for all other developers, seriously.
I just wanted to say that. Stop trying to make quick money and releasing garbage games, and make something GOOD. Also, stop supporting garbage games. Okay the rant's over.

I might even agree that a lot would say yes, it is the best to them.
Still i do not like these broad statements of fact like they are for everyone.
Best...hardest...most fun...all are up for interpretation and personal opinion.

WoW is best acording to what criteria exactly -- By a lot of criterias, the biggest one being longevitity, stability of playerbase, and keeping people hooked and coming back. While making millions of dollars profit.
There is no reason why WoW should be the best because it's not the best - certainly not for me -- K?
Destiny has more active players than WoW (no I don't play Destiny either) -- K? That's a whole different model of revenue, a fairly brand new game, that's B2P, on consoles, and had a $500+ million dollar budget. WoW is 10+ years old, on PC, subscription based, and had a $63 million dollar budget, 14 years ago. Rofl. Great comparision.
League of Legends has more players than most games combined - so it's the best game on earth? -- Different revenue model, it's F2P, not even the same genre.

! Yes, I agree WOW is still the #1 released MMO today, which is why also 44% of this community choose to purchase it on launch, 16% were undecided. Sadly, I'm not getting the same value I used to for the $ I'm paying for it. The PvP was the biggest dissapointment, which is an essential side feature for us the hardcore players. The raids last around 3 hours for 2-3 days through the week and I can't have a PvP season lasting for half of the expansion, which is 7 months now.
The lack of participants ia also truly hurting the PvP in general. Finally, the 20 man fixed option for mythic raids was the nail in the coffin. Dealing with 9 others individuals every night was already a hassle, but 19 I don't think so. This is even worse for healing, got 19 healing bars blocking my screen further now and I'm only making 5% diffence where I used to make 10% for clearing content.
I'm not playing anything for the time being. Just recently stopped playing the super casual Marvel Heroes Online and I rarely play my other sandbox private server game. Thx god for other hobbies and awesome friends.
Compare to gw2, eso, wildstar to pick a few all of which have continued to grow and offer game players much fresher experiences.

The most LoL concurrently ever had is 5 mill , which games like this should have more concurrent as they are F2P ..
I would be willing to bet that Wow has more Registered users over the years than either LoL or Destiny ..

I too was suckered into WOW because I loved playing WC3 as a kid and then played WOW. But since then, I branched out and found that whatever is offered in WOW is offered for free in other games.
In terms of lore, it is brilliant. WOW has great story lines even before it was created (WC franchise) and they just expanded it on it. Now whoever played WC as a kid can delve into the WOW story and experience it all over again, except even more in depth.
In terms of popularity, it is unbelievable. I am not sure how Blizzard advertises WOW but they do a phenomenal job. I mean, people who don't play MMOs have heard of it. People who seldom game has heard of it. That is how popular WOW is and I commend Blizzard for that.
In all other terms, other games can top it like Lineage. It is one of the most played game on the eastern hemisphere and it is longer lived than even WOW as it started in 1999. Then you have some games even more popular than Lineage (Asian names I don't remember them).
Don't get me wrong, WOW is a great game. It is very complete and it has a rich back story, and can be considered a candidate for the best, but it definitely isn't the absolute best now that it is challenged by GW2, FF and a lot more.
Noe I enjoyed WoD until the ships (garrisons 2.0) came out so if Legion will be bigger and better that is a good thing.

As of March 2015 Destiny had 20 million registered users....it's safe to say they added a few since then.

It is the same concept, as why the worthless I phone, and Mac book are considered good, when they are seriously out dated, and useless garbage compared to a PC, and Android phone. 100 percent the same, Wow is worthless garbage, but some how, the people convinced every one it was the best thing on earth. Even though it had bad graphics, copied game design, nothing to really make it any different from what was out there.
Just like a i phone 6 is a seriously weak phone compared to my 100 dollar lg g3, with a 2k screen, better processor, and more space. But right now some one just bought a 1000 dollar I phone. Or the worst of the offenders Beat head phones, which are literally made out of garbage, and the worst head phones on the market, but some how sell for 150 bucks, and keep on selling. People are lemmings, wow is the cliff.

Also the game gets extremely easy with a healer buddy around. Idk what's so hard about it. Please enlighten me. I honestly find WildStar more fun. And WildStar is by far not the best MMO.
Is it the lore? But how could it be? In a game with millions of quests ... how do you keep track of the lore outside the "go kill 20 rats and come back" ? TESO clearly nails the lore down.
What's so good about WoW? Rose-tinted glasses perhaps?
I wouldn't know since I've stopped raiding for the last couple of years now, but it's a popular opinion that WoW's still got the best (hardest) ones in that regard.

Wow is garbage? If WoW were garbage just like the iPhone you wouldn't be here complaining about it.
