That is why there are 5 million people in limbo waiting for these new games in development.
What 5M people? Do you actually have data, or just pull that out of thin air?
Yes, I have data.
Months ago, I had already made the claim that in the United States alone, there are some 5 million disgruntled MMORPG Gamers, who are sedentary and essentially idle and waiting/anticipating something substantial to sink their teeth into..
The majority of these Gamer consist of the 10 million WoW refugees that are floating around the e-sphere, looking for a quality world to regroup & materialize their guilds, friends & family.
I would think given your time here Narius, even your own common sense tells you I am right, right?
His own numbers support my metadata. None of his links or data is contrary to what I have said. Together, they support my claim. There are tons and tons of people in their 30's looking for a new game world to settle down in. And start a new Character & chapter in their lives.
The Baby Bells are coming.
?? You didn't provide anything here, and by reading your other posts on this thread and a certain other, now closed, thread about P2W you come across as very hostile when it comes to ingame purchases, very quick to call things P2W and very belittleing when it comes those who do not share your opinion. And really, opinion is all you are sharing, in a very bullying way I might ad. You act like you have authority around these parts, you don't. Now don't get this thread closed as well please.

WoW is f2p til level 20 as well as the cash shop as already mentioned.

Fractal_Analogy said: ou can easily see this on the new Progression servers.
Yes, EQ progression servers are just determined by how many box accounts you are willing to throw at it. They're fringe servers without any established guilds, they have completely unbalanced pet classes, and they have the most hackers using MQ.
But then all of us warn people not to play on them, and instead pick a regular server with some friends.
And yes, Krono are often the "buy stuff" currency on progression servers. But EQ players warn people every single time not to join them, yet people still do it. You can't buy any good gear with Krono on a normal server.
If you play on an EQ progression server, you are bound to have a miserable time, but they don't really have anything to do with normal servers though, they're just Daybreak's pet projects to make a quick sum of money.
So there are zero sub only MMO's with no cash shops and no f2p elements? I kinda find that hard to believe. Was ESO the last one before it switched over?

What is so hard to believe?
Most players don't want to pay for subs ... and cash shop makes money. Isn't that obvious?

hmm ... you know that "made the claim" is not data, right.
If you have data, link it. Otherwise, I will just treat it as you made this up.
I can only think of three Sub based MMO's WOW, FFXIV and EVE all are not sub only, as they have some type of alternate pay scheme(EVE) or cashshops (WOW, FF).
Only the best mmorpg ever made >>>>FFXI It is too bad developers continue to copy bad game design from a amateur developer like Blizzard.FFXI showed devs the base platform to do things better, instead it is WOW/EQ2 clones everywhere.
There are a mega ton flaws with linear questing games which are eliminated with FFXI design.
The only argument ever has been the crying over can't get groups or takes too much time. That argument was pretty much a bad argument, sure there were FEW occasions you could not get a group,it was usually shy or lazy people that did not take the initiative.I started many a group in my time,i seldom if ever remember having a problem.
Time is also a poor excuse,if your playing video games, you most certainly do not value your time.Other than these two lame excuses FFXI did everything amazing, just lacked EQ2 quality housing and some minor tweaking.
I have never felt the same feeling of challenge and accomplishment like FFXI delivered.

lol .. really? And you speak for everyone on the planet?
Personally i love 15 min dungeons in D3 because i play video games, and i value my time. Now devs don't HAVE to cater to my preferences, but it seems that they do.
In fact, i like Heroes of the Storms better than LoL because games are shorter. Don't need to waste as much time.
I guess it's so. Now I play 2 MMO's regularly and sub to none.

Thread got somewhat hijacked there. I was hoping someone else would mention a game I haven't spotted yet. Where is the off button on a thread, anyways. Thanks for your thoughts, though. Fun to follow while playing Hearthstone and SotA.
EQ isn't pay to win, not even close. Yes you can buy a character to lvl 85, but from lvl 85 newbee to respectable raid guild, will not be easy if no one knows who you are. It's more about contacts, playtime and your name than your gear or AA.
wait ... buying a higher toon is not p2w? Good to know. Then i guess xp potion and anything that accelerates leveling is not either (nothing is faster than just buying the levels though).
What exactly are you winning by buying a higher level character? If you 'won' shouldn't you be done playing until the next level increase come around? You're not winning at anything, the only thing you get is a free pass to skip over all of the single-player fluff to join with the other 99% of the population.
FFXI USED to be good. Now's it just a shallow husk that SE uses to milk as much money out of people as they can before they eventually shut it down. But its still a subscription game. Will be interesting to see if people justify paying the subscription for long when it goes on life-support next year.
If this is opinion, FFXIV, Lineage, EVE, WoW and at the top of the list AO(you can play the original game free but need to purchase and have a sub to play with the expansions etc)

Nothing ... i was agreeing with you. We can call this pay-to-fast-level instead.
