My question is when are they going to announce the Founder Packs!? You can still have these with "Buy to Play", I am hoping for a physical Collectors edition of some sort, maybe with a World Boss Statue!?! Heres hoping!

They do nothing. It is just a sign that the guild won the weekly siege.
Are you sure you haven't been smoking DMKano Ganja?

According to BDO Tome it does do something.  You get an income and can adjust taxes, much like AA's castles, only they aren't secluded in a separate area, they are all of the towns and hubs in the game:

"Sieges are a key form of end game content. They occur on a three times a week, Wednesday and Sunday for node sieges, and region sieges are on Saturday. Sieges typically last for four hours, and will require you to join specific channels depending on what you would like to siege. As an example if you want to siege for Calpheon you will need to be in Calpheon channel 1, if you want to siege for Hidel you would need to go to Hidel channel 1.

    Pre-Occupation

Prior to the siege start you will need to purchase a Based Citadel from the Guild Manager NPC for 200,000 silver. Once purchased your guild leader or a commander must take the citadel to the node you intend to fight for and set it down in channel 1.

Once the citadel is placed everyone in your guild can then send workers to help build the fortification. You will need to finish the construction prior to sieges starting to participate.

    Siege Mechanics

Once the siege has begun your objective is to defend your Citadel and destroy every other one. you have four hours to be the last one standing. During the siege you will be able to freely attack anyone not in your guild, if you are working with another guild you will have to be careful to not attack them. At the end of the four hours if more than one base is destroyed the node will go unclaimed.

    Occupation Benefits

Successfully claiming a node or region will generate silver for your guild, if it is a region your guild emblem will be placed in the capitol, and you will be able to adjust taxes."

This actually sounds great. Can anyone speak to their direct experience with sieges?

Cant wait to play this game I work for a living so paying for something I might enjoy is a pleasure for me.

Believe it or not many of us work for a living and simply don't enjoy paying for things that should already be free if you already bought the game.

Cash shops belong in F2P games and not in B2P or sub games. Sadly that's just my opinion and obviously publishers have leaned towards milking all the money they can out of gamers.

Sad they make it so easy by even bending over and spreading cheeks like this guy.

    ah, the death of F2P.

    Delicious.

It still has a cash shop - so the only difference between this and F2P it will have an upfront cost and the cash shop.

After a while they'll go F2P and ramp up the cash shop more.

They say cosmetic Cash Shop, makes me think of gw2... Not great, but not game breaking
The cosmetics have stats on it. This should be fun.

This is obviously a smart way to make the most profit - but I fail to see how this is better for the players.

F2P - free game with cash shop
B2P - pay upfront with cash shop

So B2P+ cash shop is better because it has an upfront cost?
No...the main difference is you won't have every tom , dick , and harry downloading the game with multiple accounts.....or bots...or free drifters.

Except it does nothing to stop gold spammers who buy accounts via stolen CCs

But I am repeating myself here.

Bottom line it stays B2P for how long before going F2P?
The numbers say 6M-1Y B2P if they have decent initial sales. If they dont have enough players to keep the servers going, they would have to convert faster.

I would be more concerned about the initial sales/launch as this is an asian import title that will not appeal to a broad audience. It does look very good, but the gameplay and aesthetics are not going to be extremely popular in the west.

Wow you guys, we just went through an epic fiasco with Archeage...What makes you think this will be any different?
    Korean studio: check
    Cash shop: check
RNG gear upgrade system with cash shop boosters: check

This will be the exact same pay to win garbage we got in Archeage. The game won't last very long in the West IMO.

At least with AA, the core of the game was very good (at least I thought so) but I don't even know if we can say that about BD.

AA didn't fail cause it was an Asian MMO. It didn't fail because it had a cash shop either. It failed because F2P and poor netcode created a hacker / cheaters / gold farmer / BOTs wet dream. Of course, the worst RNG crafting system ever imagined and breathed life into didn't help either. Again, never played BDO, but if the crafting and cash shop are indeed similar to AA's, than yes, it will probably do poorly. As far as BDO being B2P, than that is a plus, despite fake accounts from stolen CC's which once banned, must be repurchased. F2P makes it way to easy to for cheaters. It's like already being bent over, instead of B2P, in which you still have your zipper pulled up and pants buttoned.
The thing about Koreans is they play online games with their RL identities so cheating in MMOs can have RL repercussions. As a result it seems Korean MMO devs aren't too concerned about creating a hack free environment in their games because they know that accountability alone will reduce cheating considerably.
And so it seems to be the case that Korean MMOs are systematically plagued with bots and hacks when they ship to the west. I've played a handful of them (L2, Aion, Tera, AA) and they ALL had the same problems with cheaters and bots. Again, what makes anyone think BD will be any different ?

Bots are in every MMO.  As for cheaters and hacks, nothing I've ever played compared to what happened and still happens in Archeage and it's the main reason I left that game.  Maybe Neverwinter was pretty close.

In my 16-17 years of MMOing I have not come across an MMO that was not filled with cheaters, gold sellers and hackers. Heck even Skyforge that has no way to trade money, we still have gold sellers. They will take your money and never deliver. Such a scam lol. Thing is every time you block this type of twit, they come up with 10 new ways to bypass them. It just never ends.
