Is combat going to ever be streamlined?

Hello all,
I recently gave The Repopulation another look see. I still can't get over how clunky combat feels. It is absolutely painful to try to play. Is the current combat system more or less finalized or are the devs planing on improving it drastically?
A bad combat system can kill any otherwise good MMO (TSW, etc.) and I hope they plan on improving it.
