So I clicked on the link to http://www.treeofsavior.com/ and it redirected to another website talking about enabling JavaScript. I run noscript and this is annoying. The webmaster could have just put up a page on their own site so I could turn in on and run. So I added www.treeofsavior.com to the noscript whitelist.
The same result. noscript is one of those things I run for my protection. For me, they are basically saying "hey, just open javascript up for everything and trust us". So I am not going to trust them.
Am I being impatient? Perhaps, but users shouldn't have to deal with this in the first place.

Problem is that there is no way to test the skills and even their description is lackluster
For example before specing into skill there is no information if it has cooldown. Also some skills have multiple uses before cooldown, this is not stated nowhere.
Beside of this some skills are simply broken and dont work in way they are supposed.
Which brings to wasted points, unless you only build character based on builds other players posted and tested.
This is old fashion fail game design.
So far the descriptions have been accurate for me. The cooldown is called Overheat, it will say Yes or No. I personally haven't come across a broken skill, I have 3 characters 40+.
That said there are countless skills and this is a real beta, so it isn't impossible for their to be broken anything.
You can reset your skills or attribute points, it costs 5icoins and you get 5 per day.
For those upset about the lag, they easily had 15,000+ players on Laima alone. They are opening their 4th server for latin countries sometime soon. The game is still very much playable more than half the time its up at these loads. For a small company such as this, handling the load as well as they are is impressive.

How you allocate skills isn't that important from what I have seen thus far due to the class system. You can have up to 10 different classes, or 3 highly concentrated classes. So each one is an opportunity to plan out your skills. Each one also gives you access to 15 skill points. I am enjoyuing greifing players with Ice Wall and trapping them for 20 seconds.
I wouldn't say skills are that necessary. 10 classes, 15 skill points a class. Just need to get it right once. Naturally getting it right more than once is helpful, but does not make a huge difference. The stat distribution is very important.

a lvl 15 fireball can do twice or trice the dmg of 3 lvl 5 skills (you can only put 5 lvls on skills per tier) so nope, if you chose your class badly you become useless instantly
I'm playing it now and like many have said there's some serious balance issues to work out....but in terms of the core game I absolutely love it. My biggest complaint is that it's supposed to be a spiritual successor to RO where you had vast open maps to explore and in this it's all basically "Hallways" I thought that would be a deal breaker but so far....not yet.
I am in love with this game in spite of its faults. It can only get better. Progression feels just like it's just at the right speed. Grinding to get an item also feels the same way. Needs more accessible information for the player though. Also better servers.
According the people who have been in the beta longer than I, the xp rate is extremely increased atm. Whether they keep it or not who knows...but just a tidbit of info.
For those who want a key, IMC has just opened up registration again for the beta, get your keys while it's up if you dont have it already!!
Could you be a little more specific as to what IMC is?
IMC is the game company that developed the game. They are also publishing it here in the west, with Steam.
This is what it says on their website :
To accommodate more fans to the new server, we’ve been contacting Steam to obtain more keys and the keys have been just approved today.
The registration process will be the same as last time. You have to first log into our website and click on [Register for 2nd CBT] button which will be displayed on the top right corner of our website.
We are going to accept registrations from you until November 6th, 00:00 AM (EST).
Due to limited number of Beta Keys, we will select our testers by using a lucky draw method. The selected testers will receive the keys through their emails and they can also check their keys on our website by clicking on **[Check your Beta Key]** button from November 6th.
this game is... UBER-GRIND made it to 170 solo barbarian and my brain nearly died if i would not listen good music whole time, this is so boring there is zero depth in story, you just warp from one map to another to grind from level X to Y untill you are in range for next map and few times you got break from this grind by doing class quests which take around 5 minutes and then, back to grind... im talking about BETA where you got MUCH HIGHER exp rate plus exp cards for each "quest" you done, i can't imagine what GRIND-FEST it will be at RELEASE with 1x exp rate OMG... i don't think even ragnarok was that much grindy years ago -.-
Been playing for a couple hours every night and made it to 70 full support buff priest. The combat and the class customization are by far the strengths of this game. Plenty of theorycrafting and unique class options to give your character its own appeal and role within a group.
For example I chose to rank up in priest three times. This gave me the ability to rank up the Blessing buff to 15/15 and I've spent tons of silver on upgrades to the attributes of this one single ability. Blessing gives +110 base damage for 200 hits, and Sacrament 10/10 gives +40 Holy +40 base damage. So with both these buffs I give +150 +40 Holy damage to everyone in the groups base attacks.
This is just a tiny example of the theorycrafting going on in the beta, and right now this build has people messaging me for groups all the time! It's possible to solo through right now with builds like heavy crit / dexterity / evasion but honestly the grouping aspect of this game is so much more fun because of all the interesting ways that classes combine their abilities together to become stronger. Check out the Caster support class called 'Linker' that links the group together for bonuses to buffs, or links enemies together to split the damage they all receive.
But yeah as the post mentioned above, get ready for -the grind- and I mean the real grind of your life. No doubt about it this game follows in that line of games where combat is king and the more time in combat means the more your character progresses. There are enough game features built in to alleviate the endless grind, such as the ability to continually upgrade items, gemstones that can themselves be upgraded and attached to items, a card system that can also be upgraded, and unique items that only drop from killing certain mobs.
My concerns about the game are mainly the potential for bot abuse, which is already happening in the beta to harvest endless silver. Also the possible necessity to dual or triple box multiple characters if you are trying to play competitively. And yes, oh yes, you know that cash shop will be looming over this one. I swear if I see a double XP potion in the cash shop to lessen the grind, then you can say goodbye to me with this one.
Tree of Savior is doing many thing well right now, from the combat system to customization to encouraging grouping. I hope some of the guys who are playing past level 150+ will write some things about the game here since I like where things are going right now. I'll say more towards the end of the beta later this month, and I hope some of you guys got some keys!

Yes the grind hit my Cleric based character at 60s. Can't wait to hit monk but it seems so far away.

Champions Online had good way of solving this. You had training room where you can try out skills before you commit to them.
Hello.
We are IMCGAMES TOS Team.
It is so unfortunate that we could not accommodate you for the Beta Test this time since your registration was not processed in a timely manner.
We hope to meet you in our future tests and we will try our best to listen to user suggestions and feedback all the time.
Thank you for your interest in Tree of Savior.
So I guess if someone has a key and doesnt need it, here I am begging!
Also the first 40 levels are really really easy and fast, so it gives lots of room to try, fail and reroll a new character.
