I have played both and I like Blade And Soul better. Loved the art style, combat, and story. Loved the Arena PVP. My Assasin won most of its matches unless it was against a higher level or a Summoner ( Very OP ).
I got attacked by another player at level 8 in town not knowing why and won the fight with an awesome come back victory. I asked her why did she attack me and she then explained to me that I had on my Faction Uniform and that I could attack or get attacked by the other faction anytime, anywhere. She was only level 7, gave me a GG and after that I was sold.
Black Desert while it was fun it just felt like something was missing. I will say that I have not put alot of time in either game and look foward to playing them both again.
Blade and Soul is doing terrific in Korea, and its PvP is supposedly amazing, deep and tactical. It seems to meet a unique foundation between a fighting game and a MOBA, in its 1 vs 1 e-sport duels:
I wonder if the fighting game / MOBA community might be interested in the game for this reason. It is also the most promising Martial Arts MMORPG we have seen. And nothing has been announced which seems more promising in this theme. For people who are sick of sci-fi and fantasy, this could be a big deal.
Black Desert has completely tanked in Korea, and cynical people claim that the B2P is a last cash grab before the game falls on its head because the devs know it cannot be salvaged. I am not that cynical though. BDOs problem is difficult content and harsh enemies. You could fill the game with difficult open world bosses, and a new A.I and the game would be challenging and fun.
Nobody says the game needs instanced raids or dungeons. The problem right now is that there barely is a game outside of pvp. Its quests are as lame as Blade and Soul and it has that beautiful, but ultimately dead world. it's a beautiful randomly generated world, and you certainly feel it is randomly generated. Big zones, but empty and dead, populated by terrible mindless mobs.
Nice video. I have been watching some of them on NCSoft's Korean YouTube channel. Its amazing how for a mmo its actually like a real fighting game. NC Soft West did say they have plans for Blade And Soul ESport in the West.
Played BnS before and thought it was yet an other generic TAB-targeting MMO. Nothing special there with a very shallow story. I am kinda hyped for BDo though (but I was also for BnS...)
Moreover to consider... What's better, Apples or peaches, make that a poll... Because you're kinda making a similar poll with these 2 MMOs...
Blade and Soul because I think it's closer to being released. It's better to get hyped on games in the order I'll be able to play them.
BnS in february or early 2016? BDO Q1 2016
I'm just making a guess based on Blade and Soul selling founder's packs that give "access to all Closed Beta tests this fall". If they can stick to the schedule of holding all closed beta tests this fall, they could release very early 2016.

Hard to pick seeing they are diff game bases Theme vs sandbox, well in saying that i don't know how sandbox BDo is but if i were to pick any it would be BDo as theme-park games these days do nothing for me other than grinding mobs for gear and lvls to end game to fight in meaningless PvP battles.
I used to love theme parks but somewhere along the way i went from enjoying the lore and story to just clicking next, next, next, accept, move on rinse repeat, then there is the fact that most of them are that dumbed down these days you barely if ever even group up with people other then to do group PvP raids or the occasional dungeon. but who knows BDo may just be the same therefore i would not choose any of em.
I thing BDo also steals it graphically but that is just personal preference and i am in no way saying it is better than BnS as they have their own art styles and BDo is more up my alley. Either way i am sure they will both be great games but with recent news on how they are handling BDo servers i doubt i will even get to play it any time soon so BnS is where i will most likely be heading.
Not hard to choose since i'm more a f2p gamer myself, Blade & Soul cause scum bags behind black desert changed there payment model plan and chose b2p. Even tho I hope they realize there a korean company and not a very well known one at that so good luck to black desert on making big enough sales.

I was writing about fall, not about far. Did you misread my post, or why are you talking about far?
Ohh sorry! It was an quote from the admin from the bdo official forums:) He said between jan-march is the launch for bdo :P
Ok. Sorry, I didn't understand that it was still a quote. I know that Black Desert is planning to release early 2016, but if Blade and Soul does actually hold all their closed beta tests this year then I think they're ahead in the race of who can release first.
I also think it's going to be a race. It won't do them any good to release both at the same time. I think one will release first, and the other will find some excuse of waiting a least 2 months so that MMO jumpers can participate in both releases.
Tried both, was disappointed when I found out BnS combat was tab target... boring and over used. BDO combat is just so refreshing. Haven't played end game, and maybe there won't end up being none but id rather have a happy 2 weeks to a month of gameplay then try to 'get over' the combat to try to get to end game.
I voted Blade and Soul. Reasons for that is because firstly i like the combat graphics and overall everything tbh. I can see myself enjoying BnS for quite a while. I do though truly believe that BDO has greater potential as a mmorpg than BnS, but as it atm it's nothing but a waste and the money they require is something i'm not willing to give for what they offer.
I tried BnS on Russian serv, that's nice, but I didn't like some aspects of the game, in PvP some class can do nothing against others, I was BM and Assass & LSM were just impossible do deal with ^^' we were caped so I had not all the skills the guys on the video have ^^'
BDO is a new game i haven't play so just the idea to discover a new world is the reason I chose this one (and graphics and all the crafting / siege / etc... system)
Tried out BnS during cbt a few weeks ago and played the RU version of BDO a little bit. I'm sort of indifferent about BnS. The combat wasn't quite what I expected but I did like the story and music so it's pretty much going to be a side mmo when I feel like playing something else for awhile. Character creation isn't too bad. I can make some decent looking male and female characters which is unusual since I've never been good at that, but some of the skin colors are kinda odd. Some I did randomize and just made slight adjustments as needed.
BDO the graphics are amazing and I love the combat especially using a controller but fighting mobs are way too easy to deal with. Character creation is pretty detailed but I don't like it as much since every game I've ever played I've never made a decent looking character and with so many options in this one makes it worse on me. I normally just randomize my character designs and just go with it. May end up having someone create a character design for me. Right now it has my attention and I'm willing to give this one a chance.
blade and soul, free to play, gear balanced 1v1 arena. 0 pay2win.
0 P2W... You're kidding right? We're talking NCSoft here who made Lineage II F2P and P2W as well... Ca$h $hop might not be P2W now but within half a year it'll be.
IP banning areas that are usually part of NA or EU servers is not a trend I want to see develop.
Part of me hopes everyone who actually gets to play has a good time, but at the same time I find the decision to basically IP block the southern hemisphere incredibly bad form and I sincerely hope there is such a savage backlash against it that no other company is stupid enough to try that shit again.

Archeage EU - Nui
Joined 2004 - I can't believe I've been a MMORPG.com member for 20 years! Get off my lawn!
But for open world, PvE, 6v6 capture the flag it kinda is. Biggest whale with the best gear has a high chance of winning.
I hope Im wrong but from the info I red it kinda is. But I got a beta key for this weekend! And def gonna try it.
Still cant pick one :surprised:
Been waiting years for it, and can only play MMOs from launch now.

Black desert just gives me the hopes of a game that is a better Archeage
