Great tips, Ripper! Here are my own few that I found to be vital in the wasteland: - Careful when questing the Minutemen missions, they can fail if left unattended for too long (ex. hostage mission). - You can sometime buy power armor's fusion cores (around 300 caps a pop) from traders (ex. Carla and a diner south/south-east of Sanctuary). - Be Walter White! Making Jet and selling it for profits is a good way to get "legit" caps. Supervisor Brown (at the robot farm) sells fertilizer shipments and buys your stuff at generally more favorable price than most NPCs. Stock is replenished each 1-2 days in-game. - COLLECT ALL THE POWER ARMORS and their armor parts, don't sell, don't leave! Your settlement NPCs will actually use Power Armor when defending! - Don't sell/throw away leather armor/items, scrap it instead. When you'll get to "combat armor" parts, you will need lots of leather for upgrades. - Grow only the kind of food needed to make adhesive (?) that is needed for lots of armor and weapon mods (check your kitchen->utility). Cheers.
