To far away for me to start hyping it. Actually it's having an inverse affect. I was hyped for cata, mop, wod, but Legion though it gets me in the cinematic, when I have time to think about it, I end up asking myself still " why would I bother?" So far the reasons are not good enough for me to bother. I love to pvp, but don't like the gear involved, I like dungeons and raids, but only once, I love the lore that was but it's starting to fade. I am satisfied to turn on twitch and wstch the content , get my pvp fix from a balanced game and go along my way. Legion has some time to get my attention, but the competition is steep and my patience is short.

How the hell did level scaling make this list? Why gain levels if the world levels up with you? I doubt I'll be returning to WoW any time soon.

Some of this looks interesting, but I bought WoD and played for one day. Got 2 levels into the expansion and called it quits. So, I might give blizzard another month or two again to stick my toe in the pool, but I'm not overly hopeful.

It might be a bit "too little, too late" for me. Other games have had these kinds of systems for a while now, so they don't really impress me. And the story sounds like another retcon/reskin of old lore. We'll see.

Level scaling only happens in Legion on the Broken Isles -- end game and all that. It is NOT part of the rest of the game.

That is a shame, level scaling is a great feature to me personally. Up to certain point in the game exp is gained fairly quickly while grinding dungeons, but that gets boring really fast and level scaling makes the open world leveling more varied and enjoyable. IMO it should have been expanded to the entire game. EDIT: but with or without scaling, im coming back for Legion. It looks very promising. WIth that said, i hope Suramar is not only a final raid. I love the lore during that timeline so it would be nice to explore that area in the open world too for those of us who dont care about raids.

@rojoArcueid I agree! I'm not a raider except for legendary questlines (Pandaria, WoD) and only otherwise for lore. :)

Yeah level scaling is wonderful, one of the best features of Guild Wars 2 actually, perhaps the best feature for the solo player. It allows you to explore the adventure you want to explore instead of being forced on a path and out of a zone because your level is too high. For me personally this is all too little, too late though, this game will be like what, 11 or 12 years old by the time this expansion launches? It's time for a new game. Seriously, i've had enough of WoW for some time, but come on Blizz, give us a new game. And WoW fans how many millions of murlocs do you want to crush with your fireball before you finally get bored? Stop demanding expansions and start demanding Blizzard to make a new MMO.

It's a last ditch effort at a money grab. Bringing back dead characters, really Blizz? This is way over used in your games now. Also, WoD didn't deliver (literally, where are those two main cities??) and I expect this to be the same from Legion. Getting raid gear from your garrison is just sad, it shows the glory of what WoW once was is dwindling. It's farmville rather than heroes conquering Azeroth. Seeing the ending of Legacy of the Void as being a rehashed fail (no cgi ending for the end of a trilogy...) I have lost all faith in the Blizzard I knew - they have lost touch with their games unfortunately.

I've always been annoyed that WoW likes to push alts and multiple characters. We've spent years upon years invested in our characters, then suddenly it's "Hey, roll a Demon Hunter. All that stuff you did before doesn't really count anymore."

    Ugh.

I won't be coming back. I reluctantly came back for WoD and was so highly disappointed. I could not believe how expertly they had destroyed the the MM part of MMO in the game that defines the genre. Garrison's were the biggest let down in history and made the game feel like a solo experience. Blizz is dead and gone for me. FFXIV has replaced WoW in my mind in every way, shape, and form. To me FFXIV embodies perfectly what WoW once was and 1-ups it by alot. Unfortunately, it all comes back to a dying genre as a whole. Companies are all looking at the mobile phone market and MOBAs as the 2nd coming of gaming and its sad. Only thing left is to wait for Oculus Rift and if some company is willing to take the risk of developing a VRMMO to really create the next WoW-like phenomenon.

hype ppl to max....then.....release in 1 year TROLOLOL level scaling is good but no different than having 2 zones for 100-102 , 102-104.... like the old expansios used to have (MoP and WoD excluded)

I love alts and making more and different ones. We love buildings up our stable of alts and adding a new class for us is great.

Just tell me how much blizzard paid for you to make such retarded article, transmog as number 1 feature this is just beyond funny.

It leaves plenty of time to enjoy mmos like the newly released beta and launch of Blade and Soul ). Players should just take a break enjoy EQ1 Broken Mirror/EQ2 Terrors of Thalumbra, or whatever other MMOs. Yes, it is a shame that we have to wait this long, but many changes that are way overdue are finally coming !! Yipee!
  • DreamQueenDreamQueen Member UncommonPosts: 48
Enjoy those new Primalists on Rift, new Brawlers on Tera, enjoy FF14's Heavensward, there are many other mmos out there !

About level scaling, you *STILL* want level to do Raids. Most dungeons will most likely be about levels, Heroic/Challenge will require max level like always? Just because *SOME* content allows scaling, by no means will *ALL* of the content give you level scaling.

Star Wars The Old Republic and Everquest 2 have very limited content for level scaling. Yes, you can do a few zones , but you still want to see all of the loot tables / lore / mechanics of the rest of the game don't you? Being able to do only 3 or so dungeons doesn't really cut it.

Raids will be awesome on Eq1 and Eq2 with level scaling, but that is already what Rift has in public quests. Being able to take part in Eq2's Storm gorge and ring war event public quests still required you to have a certain level minimum.

By no means is level scaling ever going to effect the *ENTIRE* game, merely specific parts of it. Also, you don't level for the levels, you should be enjoying the game and how your class plays. Are you not enjoying the content as you level? If levels are all you play for, then by all means go and find a game that actually hooks you with its gameplay and lore.

Bliz did have a new mmo named Titan , and they cancelled it? Unfortunately, MOBAS and cell phone applications are the present, MMORPGs may be the future , but for now we are stuck mourning the loss of the past. All that potential squandered on cell phones and tablets.

People don't even buy playstation vitas, and you think they are going to make WoW 2.0? Blame the cell phone market. WoW has to get all of the next generation tech, because it is the only hope we have, MMORPGs are a niche crowd these days. Only games like WoW have the money and the resources to do the cool tech that a new game would have, while still appealing to the old fashioned original mmorpg players.

We also don't want "Action" combat, we already have Tera, Wildstar, Guild Wars 2, and upcoming Blade and Soul. Keep WoW the way it is, focus on improving it, and there is no need for Blizzard to make another mmo. Remember, they already have Overwatch (which was created from the ashes of Titan), Heroes of the Storm, Hearthstone, and Starcraft. They don't need a competiting MMO like Eq1 vs EQ2.

Sure, a Sci-fi WoW would have been awesome, but we lost Titan ><, and we can enjoy Star Wars The Old Republic / play Blade and Soul next year !! Yipee ! ~
