Anything that plays well with a flight-joystick?

I've had this Madkats V.1 flight stick sitting on my desk for a while, I originally bought it for testing various control methods in mmos, with varying success. (Awesome for action games such as TERA and ESO, using Anti-Micro, Joy2Key etc). To the point however. Any suggestions to put this thing to use for its intended purpose? I would prefer Mech games or space sims. (Awesome with Mechwarrior Online and X-Rebirth), OS not important, though GNU/Linux would be nice and I don't have any Apple hardware at the moment.

I would imagine Elite Dangerous would be pretty cool with a flight stick.  I have one myself but have not purchased the game yet. . especially with the expansion thing.

I also found Mechwarrior to be amazing. . twisting the joystick to turn the torso of the mech was incredible.  It's not space or mechs but DCS world is pretty cool and I am sure there are planes you can fly for free.

Wa min God! Se æx on min heafod is!

Elite Dangerous looks incredible... Definitely buying on payday, hopefully the sale is still going on through the first. Might have to buy a VR set as well.

    Great suggestions, keep 'em coming.

To touch back a bit... Hawken is awesome. I can't figure out how to setup the joystick with it without a macro program. But definitely a smooth controlled mech game with a keyboard/mouse.

@SomethingUnusual if you haven't bought elite dangerous yet, it is good with a flight stick and voice attack, but it's lacking in content. I'd buy X3 Terran Conflict instead, there's a lot more to do and is cheaper, being an older game.

@Theutus ; Just now seeing this, I've been on the fence about Elite Dangerous, honestly holding out for Star Citizen for MMO flight-sim.

On the other hand, I LOVE the X series. Way ahead of you there, reinstalling now even

I tried to use a joystick with Mechwarrior, but trust me, it's designed as a zero order application.  When you move a mouse to a position, stop moving it and the cursor stops moving, then that's a zero order controller.

Joysticks are a first order controller.  In other words, it takes two precision movements to achieve the same effect that you get from using one precision movement in a mouse.

The best way to play MWO, as silly as it sounds, is with pedals for twisting the torso, a throttle for speed and weapon selection and a mouse for aiming the guns.
