Hmmm, I am thinking of switching to console, because of this.

"
  • On Xbox One (where the botting was not an issue), AD per player went up from 32,000 to 39,000 from July to October."
That is from neverwinter, but I was wondering if any one who plays consoles can confirm that there is less cheating/botting? I mean I log into neverwinter, and there are so many bot spams its hard to keep up some times, is this the same in xbox? I guess the joys of having such customization with the PC, has its limits. Lol, reminds me of the saying, if you want total protection go to prison. Is this true with xbox? That they are so restricting in their operating system, that cheating just doesn't happen?

One way to see how much more AD is floating around in PC than in Xbox One is by looking at the difference in the Zen/AD Exchange (ZAX):

  • Xbox One ZAX: 140 AD per Zen
  • PC ZAX: 400 AD per Zen
I mean that is quite thee difference. BTW that means 140 ingame money things, for 1 real life money thing, or 400 on pc, due to bots.

games like Neverwinter are probably more suited for console tbh, its not too demanding graphically, so the 'new' consoles can handle it without too many problems, the main downside is probably player interest as Neverwinter is such an old game now, i am not sure there is much any more.

First suggestion would be to find a better game than that garbage Neverwinter. They still haven't fixed entire broken skills in... has it been years now? Neverwinter is just a cash shop with a mmo mini-game tacked on.

Anyway, as to your actual topic, bots and macros and hacks do make gaming on pc a nightmare. However consoles have them too, just not nearly as rampantly as pc.

To find an intelligent person in a PUG is not that rare, but to find a PUG made up of "all" intelligent people is one of the rarest phenomenons in the known universe.

Why would you play the cash shop with mini games? BTW that 400ad/zen exchange rate is capped, or else by now it would be around 1200ad/zen on PC or higher.

If that is your idea of what a MMo is a cash shop with a mmo mini game, than all MMOs fit that. Every single one ever made. They have all had cash shops since UO. In fact UO and D2 were one of the worst cash shop games ever, you could buy your way to top end stuff. There is not one MMO out that doesn't use that idea to make money, and if they leave the loop open, then poor people come in, and open up a cash shop of their own trying to make some money playing a game.

So yeah, I don't follow that any more, about not playing a game cause it has a cash shop, because they all do. I am gonna go out on a limb, and say totally that if you think of the cash shops that way, MMOS are not your kind of game at all.

There are very different kinds of cash shops though, the best ones only sell cosmetic items, or perhaps mounts, the worst kind of cash shop sells things like xp potions and other items that affect gameplay more directly, Neverwinter easily falls into this category, and when the games focus is more on the cash shop than the game itself, then thats not a good thing.
There are much better games available for console these days, Neverwinter is not a very good example of what is possible.

I dono, I think neverwinter is a great game. As for the cash shop, it is rather ingenious way to keep a game going. As for the game play it self, I don't know of many better ones. The ambient npcs roaming, the rpg feel, the way the classes all play differently, the story lines, its got cool contests randomly in zones, ques for battle ground pvp which is fun, ques for group based pve stuff, solo lore based quests, random hidden fun objects to fine, hidden lore, a very well done crafting system that doesn't require you do sit and grind make bola balls for 2000000 hours, so you can make something. Well made character models and very interesting npcs, with a fun loot system.

As for the cash shop, it is way better than eve online crazy system, where literally, if you bust into the game with 20 grand, you can instantly have top everything. If you dumped 20 grand into Never winter, you really wouldn't be that much further in the game, then some one who didn't.

You can't pay anything in EvE online to get ahead, you could spend 20 grand in EvE and buy a bunch of high Tier ships that you couldn't fly because it literally takes weeks or months to be able to fly anything worth a crap in EvE.... what are you even talking about?

First thing first, I really have no respect for people who mix "then" and "than". Two totally different words that serve totally different functionality in English language.

Second, I am not even native English speaker (as sharper grammar readers can find most of my sentence awkward). I am Chinese.

Third, I loved Neverwinter at beginning too. But if a game mostly barred progression based on cashshop items, then it has to be a "cashshop with mini games". Even with cashshop provided, WoW has so much content to explore and cashshop is merely for looks (I never heard you'd down boss faster with a fancier mount, that in a dungeon most of the mounts are not even allowed). Ok if you say WoW has sub and Neverwinter is F2P, then how about a honest moba like League, where cashshop provide skins and fasten progression by boosts. But Neverwinter chocked every bit of money out of player possible. Did you know that first few months of the game, you didn't have to spend AD to level up enchante? And did you know that during that time there's no BS enchante with like 1-2 exp that takes a single bag space by itself, where bag space is so scarce in the game they charge like what, 15 dollars for 20 slots and there's limited bag slots to begin with? Heck, I progressed even further in Archeage as F2P than in Neverwinter and I didn't have to farm much! I have my gally and my t5 obs in Archeage. The same amount of the time I invested in Neverwinter, without pay, is no where close for satisfaction.

BTW, did you disregard the cap on ad ratio? Wonder why there's no Zen for exchange? Go figure; since everything the company charges a ridiculous amount, bots floor in and that's where they earn most of the money from the game. It's just a bad company in general. But if you are happy to be milked your last drop, I am not surprised if you are yet another gunner on the forums.

Um.. one you can fly them you no longer need to earn money in order to pvp? That's one way.

Less hassels to deal with on console compared to the pc. Plays mmos on a console is a more pleasant experience in my opinion.

if you want total protection - go to prison. I even now the story when one French citizen hung on the window moisture LIH. His apartment watching the police and security services around the clock. He felt completely safe))

Have you ever even played the game? You can buy top end accounts in eve online, TOP END accounts lol, you don't get any more pay 2 win then that.  Ill make it alittler easier for ya, if you go into eve online with 20 grand, your are instantly top end, such as having all the skills, having all the money, having everything some one who played for 10 years would have. In Never winter even if you went in with 20 grand, you would def have a huge advantage over players with no money, but the players with no money would be able to catch up to you.  In eve online, players who constantly dump cash in, are always above those who do not. They always have more money, more skills, more everything. Unless you compare to some one who joined eve online at start.

The difference is eve online, legally allows you to transfer accounts for in game money, and lets you buy in game money with real money. Never winter doesn't allow that, I am sure under the table shit happens, but it is agasint the rules.

I play ESO on the Xbox and honestly prefer it over the PC. The game, like Neverwinter, plays better on a controller. I find myself enjoying the community just as much on the Xbox as I do the ESO community on PC. Times have changed.
Thanks muchly for responding, that is what i wanted to know.
