Don't bother. It's just as terrible as ever and the new content is better watched on YouTube than played through. Game sucks so hard it's unbelievable there is a company out there that can so thoroughly ruin the Star Wars experience. I thought only SoE was capable of such blundering retardation.

Let us know your impressions! How long has it been since you last played?

I thought the new expansion was pretty boring and I'm a pretty hardcore star wars fan. I think Bioware should just stick to making cinematics, because they are pretty damn good at that!

Been a year... I bought a new pc so I could play Wildstar (my old pc ran swtor on full gfx) But for whatever reason I got a bizarre graphical anomaly with my new pc which caused all the textures in the game to flicker from full definition to fuzzy constantly and I stopped playing after a month of trying to figure out what the problem was. Hopefully the upgrades to the games gfx have fixed this. I'll let y'all know :D

You played through the first chapters of KotFE i presume.

You think that TOR sucks hard, that Bioware ruined the SW experience yet you gave them your money in order to play KotFE.

    Okay.

I've paid them nothing in well over 4 years.  I played through the story line for free on sombody elses account because I would never give this travesty of a company parading around as game developers another cent.

Way to prove that old adage about assuming true though.

+1 Assness to you good sir!

If you are saying that BioWare is "parading around" as a game company I don't think you have been gaming very long. Have you ever played Mass Effect, Dragon Age, or Baldur's Gate? All great games. All made by BioWare. You are either very young or very uneducated on BioWare and it's developing background.

It's fine that you dislike a game made by a company but to slander their name for no other reason then to be dick is kind of ignorant. Wouldn't you agree?

I may have been one of the ones that "came back" but the game had so many bugs that it was the most annoying experience I've had in a game in a while. And this is coming from someone who liked collecting datacrons . . . on every alt. I want my money back. I can say they had a few interesting new mechanics in stories, but the game is so easy now, and grouping is even more pointless. Easy single player mediocre RPG online for some reason game.

The only part of SWTOR I like and play from time to time are the starting planets and hanging out at the stronghold they gave us.  They've very slowly made some positive changes hopefully they can make the game better.

I was more referencing the team that works on SWTOR specifically as they release very little of anything that can be considered a game and a lot of cut scenes with poorly scripted and acted dialogue. At no point did I say "BioWare" as a whole.  But that was my fault for not being as specific as I had intended.  As far as I know BioWare Austin was created specifically to work on the project of SWTOR and only SWTOR.  And yes, I am saying that division of BioWare is a fucking garbage fire that should be pissed on to put it out.

Sorry to have rustled your jimmies so, but again I'm going to point you to the assumptions you've made about me and the adage previously referenced in my earlier post.

I was away from SWTOR for a year. I came back after someone referred me on a seven day subscriber trial and got all of KotFE along with it. I was impressed. I enjoyed the content enough that I was a bit blue about not having more to do.

As for the decision making being meaningful, players of the Mass Effect series heard that over and over, and they basically got color-coded endings, so I'm highly suspicions of similar promises.

Mind you, outside the story, the grind for the Alliance is mind-numbing. And I'm fairly certain that they killed off a character in an attempt to try and sell it back to you via subscribership. Thanks, but I'm not that much of a completionist to give one bull-plop about a single character that was only introduced to me via the new content. Much less have me subscribe from January through August to get one extra chapter. That's one expensive chunk of content.

Overall, C+ for content and management bungling. And the next episode isn't due out until February, and maybe they can push a chapter per month but I doubt it.

As an aside, when they said that episodic content was kind of unique in MMOspace, total bull-plop. City of Heroes/Villains did it with Signature Storyarcs years ago, before the game was unfortunately sunset.

I like the new content and game changes. This game along with ESO keeps getting better. The game looks better than when I first played it and the flow is about 100% better than it was.

One thing about Bioware, when people screamed about the ending in ME3 they did it over a little better, then they added that great adventure when Shepard gets an apartment and you got to hang out with most of the gang and joke around.  More then made up for the crappy ending imo.  So long story short, they do listen and try to fix stuff.

I like what they have done. I cycle on and off of SWTOR with a few other MMOs. So in 1-2 month doses a few times a year, it has been very enjoyable.

Also I am glad they streamlined the leveling. This way you can just do the main planetary quests and the story quests on each planet. This keeps it moving along at a nice pace. I have so many alts, so that is a big plus for me especially since I have the old been there done that already mentality. Now it is interesting w/o being grindy. Granted, many like to feel they labored long and hard to get high level, but not me. The first time or two, sure, but after that, no thanks lol :D

8/10 single player game 3/10 mmo... its worth playing now more then ever for the story... they removed the side quests buffed the xp so it's no longer grindy and doesn't get repetitive... Only thing that gets annoying is the lag... I have fast internet and my PC is a beast i7 6700k and a gtx 980ti so I know its not on my end....

beta til now i still cycle through it for periods of time and really the state of the game in my opinion atm is bad
it has its moments of enjoyment , but they are so lazy and bent on making the easiest streamline game ever they've got it to the point where its totally borked . atleast i think it is lol
and yet i still enjoy the early planets like said above , but the expansion whether you all say its a great story its all personal opinion .  nothing personal going on there with story , companions have no identity , crafting got butchered the amount of bugs and what not which they keep blowing off is ridiculous . and yet im ready to throw snowballs at people for a sleigh again lol

The game is in a really good place right now, with some balance changes to the DPS classes coming in 4.03 putting them within 5% of each other rather than the 11-15% differences we have seen right since launch.

Ops are accesible to all from level 50 thanks to the bolster system boosting stats to 65 and tactical flashpoints are no longer level restricted and all FP now have a tact version so finding groups takes seconds not hours if not a tank or healer.

Credits are exceptionally easy to make and anything in the paid for cartel market can be bought on the GTN. KOFTE is good fun with some humour HK-55 and some very interesting characters that I look forward to seeing more of and how they develop in the future chapters namely Senya.

I had a graphics glitch also earlier in the year I believe aug/sept it as caused by the latest Nvidia driver at the time so simply rolling back sorted it and a driver Nvidia released in October had no issues with it at all.

I recently went back to swtor to try KotFE but it took a major shift in thinking to do it. I stopped thinking it was an MMO, which let's face it, it isn't, there zero massively multiplayer content. Instead I started to think of it as KOTOR3 online, with 8 single player stories instead of just 1. That's got to be worth the price of a game in subs. So, I re-subbed and I have to say, I'm really enjoying it now.

Just don't think of it as an MMO.

Edit: The reason for subbing. It gets rid of all the really stupid restrictions on the free/preferred status accounts.

With all my complaints about this game and it's engine I have never suffered from flickering etc.
I guess your hardware is malfunctioning.

So Bioware/EA have managed to make a single player expansion that requires a subscription, to dumb down an already fairly simplistic game and not create a single piece of true multiplayer content for their mMo expansion and this is a good thing, hmm ok then

They make what most people want to play.

And you get a great deal of group content as you can play all group content at max level to your hearts delight.

And thats where problem lies: you guys arent worth the money they have to invest in bringing you content.

Theres 24 FPs in two modes and 10 OPs in 2/3 modes in endgame and you still whine.

Currently Swtor is my game no.1, even before Wow.

But with all this talking I just can not believe not a word about NIGHTMARE called NO DUAL SPEC!!! How can there be nowadays game WITHOUT DUAL SPEC and trinity system??

Then no CLASS SPECIFIC stories. This were unique among all MMO as I know.

And I would gladly pay 60€ to have TRUE EXPANSION, not just mini (and, ok, free) expansions. Some expansion WORTH ORIGINAL RELEASE.

Still as said, Swtor is my by large measure most played game in last 4 years. Probably from 2 to 2 and half years ... and rest split between Wow (once my No.1), Rift and Gw2. And occasionally others, like Wildstar (now passed away for me).

Nightmare has been mentioned, its a bug that is presently stopping 224 loot from dropping, this will be fixed in chapter 10 but its not a guaranteed drop of 224 just a "chance" of. The only guaranteed source of 224 will be the Priority HM. This has had a lot of grumbles from the progression crowd understandibly so but I believe it's nothing more than a stop gap for a pretty big revamp of the ops systems mid next year. Forget it heh misread your post, Yeah dual spec is a pain in the arse whole reason I have 7 troopers rather than 2 as I simply CBA to swap gear/toolbars.
