People want 'equality' and don't want to be separated from everyone else but love to separate themselves from everyone else anyhow.

The world trolls itself so hard.

I fail to see what a persons sexual preference has to do with gaming. If your gay, that is fine and it is your right but why share it with others when gaming unless you are looking for some love or to start something. I dont jump into a game and start talking about banging my wife or what my sexual tastes are why should a gay person?

Its also not about choices in games like playing a female toon and romancing a female companion. 96% of the US claims to be straight (according to CDC research) so why would anyone expect a AAA MMO from a "for-profit" company to target 4% of the population? For a gay person to expect AAA games to have gay choices is unreasonable. Once that door opens then what is next? Furry Fandom? Bestiality? Necrophilia? You cant include one minor group and not another.

This is something that has always bothered me. I don't understand the cry for equality but then make specific, targeted events for said crowd.

    I know, right.

It's almost as bad as someone who trolls a post several times because they don't agree with the topic.  Hey everyone, look at me and the self-righteous way in which I don't like this!

Because it promotes awareness about a specific social issue.

If they called it "Awesome Convention" - it would be just another PAX or Gamescom - which dont promote any specific social issue.

Freedom from discrimination is a still relevant today.
I think he is just getting a bit annoyed at the mindset he described, which is shockingly prevalent today (just look at the crazy college protesters).

I am annoyed, too.  I want a baldies convention where I can be bald and proud!  I won't let hairyarchy oppress me any longer!
