(Un)fortunately we have Dorfs, and, to rub even more salt into my wounds, arguably even more than one kind of Elves to choose from. And of course, we have lots of humans. And we are getting even more...humans...o,O
Speaking of that Empath of mine, yes - it was an obvious typo
Well then I hope your alchemist will make you potions based on fish oil (good for your heart), and some sweet berries (to make you feel better) and milk, preferably to be mixed separately for tasting reasons.
By the way interesting though you had about automatic down-scaling graphics while you leave safe zones and enter PvP.
This is an indy game. Small company. Expecting a lot from the graphics is only going to be disappointing. "Accepting" graphics are aren't bleeding edge will better serve people.
Like Skyrim? Need more content? Try my Skyrim mod "Godfred's Tomb."

These expectations players have is crazy. Oh, we want that indie company game experiments but on a Blizzard AAA budget. IMO, chasing graphics over chasing game play mechanics is holding the industry back. Then again, pushing graphics sells GPUs whereas pushing game play mechanics does not.
Kyleran: "Now there's the real trick, learning to accept and enjoy a game for what

FreddyNoNose: "A good game needs no defense; a bad game has no defense." "Easily digested content is just as easily forgotten."
LacedOpium: "So the question that begs to be asked is, if you are not interested in
the game mechanics that define the MMORPG genre, then why are you
playing an MMORPG?"
Honestly we are getting to a point in time where graphics aren't really that big of a deal anymore.
The true cutting edge stuff is almost photo-realistic now, and even the mid line games are solid. I don't expect CU to look like ARK, but as long as they make it look like a modern generation game I don't think it'll be a problem.
Not sure where they will end up, but I don't think the graphics will turn too many people off.

True, but now and then we see some really ugly prjects, like PFO. CO don't need to be cutting edge in the graphics apartment, it needs to have about the same graphical quality as GW2 and ESO or slightly lower (looking 5 years old is acceptable if the art is good but not older).
Gameplay is certainly more important than graphics in the west (in the east it seems to be the other way around) but a MMO needs to look at least acceptable if it want to be more than a really small niche game.
It really makes me sad that I may not end up to see where games go in the next 20 odd years. I think you young people have a great future when it comes to gfx and gaming. Throw in VR and you will end up playing some remarkable games and looking at remarkable gfx.

@Brenics Hey, but CU is actually a trip to the past (speaking of regrets)

-Age of Conan
-THE WITCHER 3 (the best I have ever experienced)
I think the graphic will change drastically before launch (from what it is now), but to be honest I would be fine with 15 years old DAOC graphics
People like to compare console/single player game graphics to what they want out of an MMO. Not going to happen, at least not for the next 20 years.
Agreed
This for example
