image'Not Free to Play at Launch', CBT Through August 1, 2016

In a new post on the Albion Online forums, the team has written about the road to release. Of particular note is the announcement that AO will not be free to play on release as developing the game for F2P would increase significantly. In addition, closed beta testing will extend through August 1, 2016.

    fun game, I buy into most new mmos founders stuff just to see them and support companies making games. Albion is a MOBA mmo. plays like LOL with static characters. the pvp is FUN! I play with a guild of regulars at about 15 deep. we roll out and have a blast chasing people and fighting other big groups. F2P usually means p2w and this game is 100% a pvp game, meaning P2w ruins the game. keep it a buy game forever so we can have balanced fun pvp thanks :P

    and that being said, BnS comes out jan 15th for early access so i will be off Albion. Because well im really good at BnS pvp and i like to own in 1v1 arena :PPPP

    So, B2P then ?

    With a Cash Shop, naturally.

    Won't even break the stride of the goldsellers, but it may cut down on a certain amount of drive-by asshattery.

    the game dont even worth my ''time'' , they need pay me if they want me log back again

    that was a total waste of money from a founder pack, the game got nothing to do inside, and after a bit of pvp it got realy boring, and it got insane grind...

    Glad it's not going F2P at start but one has to wonder about changing directions so close to launch...

    I won't have to pay because I'm a founder. A whole year of closed beta is fine with me the only reason I haven't been playing was because I anticipated open beta. Good news for me :)

    I personally just bought the game a week ago and while im not a big pvp fan at all I do love the ability to just live out my life as a crafter or farmer(farming being my favorite) little rough learning what to do at the start(that destiny board can be overwhelming)

    But now enjoying it alot and I do not mind if it is made buy 2 play and that they are taking their time to bring more features and polish into the game +1 for fishing:P

    Good, F*** F2P garbage. Was writing this game off after they announced they were going to be a F2P game, now will look into it and probably try it out.

    On the forums a Dev Team member stated there will be one more wipe "during" CBT and they wil give a heads up when they are going to wipe.....and then of course another wipe at the end of CBT

    I think they finally realized the vocal minority is really a minority. Too bad other game developers don't realize it sooner in their roadmaps.

    Are you suggesting the p2p market is larger than the F2P? Would be great if true, it just doesn't seem likely.
