Last night, Gazillion surprised Marvel Heroes fans with an exclusive sneak peek at Advance Pack 3. We recently speculated on who might make the cut, and I think we did an OK job. Many of our picks made the roster, but that roster is also one character short than we anticipated (seven instead of our anticipated eight).

meh to all of them for me tbh. Black Bolt could be cool. But I personally think that there are a lot better options.
Please come check out my stream. All the love is appreciated!

Looks like they're scraping the bottom of the barrel for heroes.  I've never heard of Angela or Black Bolt before.

For me, an avid Marvel Heroes fan and weekly Marvel Comics subscriber... I'm in between "awesome" and "meh". I voted for Black Bolt, I like Elektra. Overall I'm happy because they are doing less heroes and spending development resources on other areas of the game, hence why some of these might be "meh" to some, Maybe these were easier to implement versus others to help the goal of focusing on other game areas?

The question with some of these is how can the game play of some of these (e.g. Elektra) be made different from similar heroes already in the game (i.e. Psylocke)?

The only one I want as a main character is Angel. I'm happy with what I have so far which is a lot.

I can forgive you on Angela, she's newer, but Black Bolt? Come on, dude! :)

Huh, didn't know Marvel got a hold of Angela (from Spawn). She could be interesting, but the rest are definitely 'meh'. Still, they really need to stop churning out heroes and work on other content, balance the heroes they've got (power creep is insane in this game, which is why I stopped playing), and overall just focus on improving the quality. Definitely no more releasing heroes which are obviously not fully tested and balanced. Quality over quantity is what the game needs right now, and I hope they stick to that. Though I suppose with staff being reduced as it is, they don't really have the manpower to do a ton of things at once, so maybe that's a positive thing.

I am excited about exactly zero of these. Oh well, it's hard to maintain interest in this game anyways. How many times can you repeat the same content?

Meh.  Nick fury is only interesting because they kept teasing he would be the summoning hero that D2 Necro fans were waiting for.  I think Mole man would have been a better choice for that type of role but time will tell.

I haven't played since their anniversary event where I did spend a decent amount of money.  I think I've spent my last dollar on the game and feel it's shelf life has ended for me.  Especially with the massive cutback in content delivery and poor design decisions.

I tried to keep going but gave up MH last spring. They rebrand so they should rebrand the Heroes out of the title. Doesn't matter to others but I bought the UP because there had been a post about never going to have villians playable. A while later then they said they would never allow in a pure villian. The person would have to have been good at some point. Then I was watching Mr. Brevik during a stream this year with his wife talk about how popularity is how they look at who to add to the game and someone like Carnage is what is popular then that is what they will do. It made me realize it was a money grab and no longer about any promises they made. Great fun while playing but I will never return.

I get that Green Goblin is something a lot of people are asking for but he doesn't interest me. The rest aren't really that exciting. I like Angela and Elektra so it may depend on how they play, but I'm not so concerned either way. Nick is another one that could be great but I'm having a hard time picturing playing him in game.

I really liked the list you came up with and maybe I'm a little disappointed because that one was so much more exciting. This list is very bland to me. I certainly won't be buying it.

I'll be picking it up, but I do wish it had a bit more to it. Goblin's going to be awesome though. You watch!

I'd support pure villains if they gave the game the City of Heroes / City of Villains treatment, with a separate campaign and play areas for both, and possibly a PvP zone. That would actually be pretty awesome.

Carnage is a great villain, but he has no place in the game. He's an unrepentant murderer and serial killer who kills simply because he enjoys killing and causing pain. Quite frankly, if they put him in the game as a playable character I'll wipe it off my HDD completely. There are plenty of symbiants which were formerly villains other than Venom with unique powers they could add. Scream, for example. Or Toxin, for a fully heroic example.

I barely know of the inhumans.  so many Marvel Heroes fans assume everyone that plays it is a comics fan.  I'm an ARPG fan with a passing knowledge of comics.  Marvel Heroes targets Marvel fans too much and ARPG fans too little.

This list left me so damn cold, not so much from who's on it (Ultron?!?!? WTF.) as who's NOT on it. It looks like Marvel's corporate put their foot down on Gaz's necks, and did the ol' Scarlet Witch "No more mutants" on them. I'd be shocked $#!+less if any new mutant characters appear within Marvel Heroes' remaining time with us. Beyond that, there are characters that SHOULD be available by now (Spider-Woman, anyone?) that are bafflingly-missing for no good reason.

Don't get me wrong, here - I DO like that they're cutting the number of new characters down so that quality will be more of a focus, so that's no my issue - my issue is simply the fact there are characters that should be in the game before many of these, and for whatever nefarious reason, they're not, and it's a disservice to the player base.

(Full disclosure here: I voted for Angela in that infamous poll, because I like the character, and I've been saying Elektra should have been in the game a LONG time ago... but I have fundamental issues with Green Goblin and, especially, Ultron being playable.)

I think it is awesome they are adding new characters from the Marvel franchise. I don't like the fact they are charging so much for it... But as you can get all the characters in game without spending a dime....

I just like there are more Heroes and sidekicks. The game now is where it should have been at launch.

    +1

Your not serious? Scraping the bottom of the barrel? You absolutely read no comic books do you? Why don't you read some comics with Angela and Black Bolt in them, then come back and make a response. A least you will understand how stupid your comment sounds.

So what you are saying is a game that was created from comic books, shouldn't have many characters from comic books? You comment makes no sense. If you want to play an ARPG go play D3 or POE, because you're make yourself sound highly foolish.

I think this list is awesome, I really like it to be honest. Thank god! There is no Wasp! phew... big sigh of relief. But on a serious note, I challenge all you Wasp fans! Go read Angela's new comic, or Elektra.

Go read In-humans, go read Guardian of the Galaxy, go read Thunderbolts. Once you have done so, I will guarantee you will not be a Wasp fan. The issue with Wasp fans on the forums is that they don't read comics and are just followers who cant think for themselves.

If someone on a forum says, "Hey!, this character is great because etc" then that person will lists some gif's with the character in it and some of the their heroic feats. People get brain washed and they feel the character is so awesome. The Wasp fans have been pimped! Beguiled into thinking she is more awesome they she actually is. Wasp sucks I mean really, her fame on forums proves how little comic book knowledge people actually have. Wasp fans are an embarrassment to comic book connoisseurs.

Ah angela, how I used to fap to thee. Pretty sure most the poses she took in her early comics were for that reason alone. Like many others, never heard of black bolt or the inhumans.

I really only care about x-men and related franchises.

You've never heard of Black Bolt? Maybe because he is the strong silent type? He's a pretty big name in the Marvel universe leading the Inhumans, mostly in the Fantastic Four comics (the Human Torch marries an Inhuman named Crystal). Expect to see a lot more of him introduced to the Marvel theatrical audience in Agents of Shield and of course he will be a big star in the Inhumans movie in 2018.

Strong and Tough as Thor (has gone toe to toe with the Hulk)
Fires energy beams from a tuning fork on his forehead that are quite powerful and precise
Fast agile flyer, and well trained in the martial arts of the Royal family.
But the big, big deal is his voice. When he speaks, he can cause a mountain to collapse! His wife Medusa can read his intentions and does royal declarations for him.

The world is going to the dogs, which is just how I planned it!

Where did I say that?  I can name a lot of heroes not in the game, but I can't name any inhumans.

What I am saying is that they are focused on cranking out heroes to sell but created half ass ARPG systems for players to play in.  They abandoned a significant sector of the ARPG market in hopes of getting non ARPG players to play their game.

Word is that Marvel is picking heroes from here on out and no more X-Men.  Marvel isn't getting back the X-Men film rights any time soon and they are putting in requirements that new Marvel games not include the XMen or FF.

What systems would that be? Systems in Marvel Heroes it's getting better but it's going to slow for some.
